@kent80082006 You must not have gotten to Kelly on time while inside the base... Tali could have died due to 2 reasons A) She was not Loyal or B) you set her up as the wrong Leader for a job or with a non-loyal leader. (or you just didn't upgrade the Kinetic Barrier on the ship.)

@Locker591 thx for your reply but I've got the answer from a forum, the reason turns out to be quite complicated. Kelly died because I've done more than 2 missions between acquiring the IFF and entering the base. Loyal Tali died because there's an average point system, each teammate you didn't take with to the final battle carries different points, the average has to be greater than 2 for the whole team to survive, otherwise they die in a certain order, Tali being the first :P

No. But the fewer loyal crewmembers you have, the more difficult it is to get through the mission with everyone alive.

Btw, its also possible to lose loyal members, if you make bad decisions.

Weak points on the ship result in deaths of different characters... depending on who is available (e.g. in cargo hold fighting orb, not recruited, etc.) from a short list. Like the engine room scene could kill 1 of 4 possible, etc. Would like to see all scenes. I love that who you pick for team assignments determines not just that person's fate- but other people on the team (randomly sometimes) as well. Picking the right team leaders is not obvious.

yea having the upgrades and the loyalty helps but you also have to have those characters leveled up before you start the mission so that way they can actually do the tasks you send for them to do. i've played this game 4 times and gotten all the upgrades and loyalty for every character and i still lost people every time until i figured out to upgrade them and give the skill points out to them before you start the suicide mission

you definitly do not need to have everyones loyality. You wont even get the best ending that way because you cant save all the crew if you do everyones loyalty missions first. I personally got everyone through the mission with legion and jack not being loyal.

alright thats a bit strange then. Even if I delay the IFF mission till after I got all the available loyalty missions, the collector ship jumps in immediatly afterwards and I can only save all crew if I dont do legions loyalty mission.

Maybe there is a random element in play...

@MareTranquil there is no random element. you have to waken legion right after the reaper iff mission and before you interact with the galaxy map again, despite EDI saying that you have to take a shuttle. after you wake legion, the game will realize you still have available loyalty missions and will allow you time for ONE extra mission, giving you time to do every loyalty mission and sidequest.
