  • Comment removed

  • @misterbillylicious Gilmour is playing guitar...

  • Poor guys; without Syd, even after the entire Pink Floyd story, they never reached Syd's infinity.

  • You can really feel Syd's presence around 1:55 That whole section.

  • I want the name of the faggot that disliked this!!!!!!!!!

  • @skinnyhell94

Me (jokes ) i love pink floyd

  • @Fendergreats19933 jaja ok I could have killed you so dont joke xD naa just kidding but how can you dislike this??!?!??!!? I mean of course it sucks that Syd is not here but at least they didn't put David to sing the song!!! lol although it would have been funny right? xD

  • @skinnyhell94 yeah it does suck that syds not there but david gilmour is an excellent singer on other songs such as time money fearless wots uh the deal let there be more light ect but when it comes too the fun physcaldelic stuff syd is the man

  • @Fendergreats19933 dont forget echoes dude!!!!!!! Im trying to learn the 2nd solo but I get lost when he goes all the way down in the 1st string its so hard!! but I will not stop!! lol and I sincerely dont like obscured by clouds that much. Meddle is the best!

  • @skinnyhell94 i know im trying to learn the high hopes solo

  • @Fendergreats19933 haha I like that song but I havent listened to The Division Bell completely

  • @skinnyhell94 oh havent you i realy recomend you that you listen to the divison bell is marvolous

  • @Fendergreats19933 all right I will, even if my favorite album is Meddle xD but I will just because I only know 3 songs of that album

  • @skinnyhell94 Thank meedles my favorite aswell

  • hes so ugly haha

  • lol its a promo video after syd was booted, the guitarist is clearly doug gilmour. c'mon ppl.

  • @isotopes014 "doug gilmour"??

You mean David Gilmour. c'mon isotopes014.

  • mmmmmmm + o -...

  • Strange vid but cool

  • this whole video is a trip, from roger lip synching to syd's voice to rick's hat. lmfao.

  • I'm convinced Syd's breakdown was "performance art", and that he never broke character and kept it up until his death.

  • Que porra é essa? hahaha... muito bom!!

  • I can't believe I found this! I've heard about this, I saw the Syd Barrett story. Syd was miming it in the rehearsal and every time they said ok Syd we're doing this now, he'd just stop miming and eventually Rodger said, look he's a bit, weird, I'll mime it. So sad what happened to Syd. R.I.P

  • its sucks watching roger sing syds song.. love u forever syd

  • it's very weird watching roger lip sync to syd's vocals

  • Wow, amazingly-rare footage! There's a particular frisson considering how weird it must have felt for Waters to mime to a track written and sung by a guy he'd been the primary force in ditching, presumably just days before this was shot. All the stranger considering this came out in Nov 67 (and flopped, despite/because of it's brilliance) whereas Barrett was still in the band until 26th Jan 68. Oh the mists of time...

  • they all look a bit tired- but i don't think anybody is wasted here. don't be fooled by that almost empty bottle..it's a show after all. dave looks like he's trying to play well and focused in audio not so much the visual performance.

  • this drug talk is appropriate considering this song is so dang psychedelic

  • NO!!! HE TOOK ALL

  • yeh look at Rick,s expression as he looks towards Dave at 1.25,it,s like took too much Dave.

  • this song kind of reminds me of The Who/Beatles

  • Comment removed

  • yes well done

  • This is Syd's song and he also sings here, although he's not in the picture.

  • a piece of art

  • Ignorants keep saying that.

Grow up, it'll make you good.

  • great fucking song, but give it a rest rodger, your no syd. I spose im bout 30 years to late though,

  • Waters admitted (Q Magazine, 1987) that "...Syd was a one-off, I could never aspire to his insights and perceptions...it's taken me 15 years to get anywhere near there." So why are you bashing Rogers? BTW - Pink Floyd did pretty well post-Barrett!

  • i spose!

  • @JB: I think RW was envious of Syd. R could never have that level of genius. Having excluded Syd in the end must have been torcher. PF fell progressively away from his groundwork, and lamented a fair bit about missing it- partic RW. They had success but theyv sobed a lot about barrett 'having a breakdown' - they could sob at their own inability to incorporate him. Difficult no doubt. Society cant deal with counter culture. They dont get it, or its too difficult. Pity, yet, probably, perfect.

  • @johnny1250000 your like some kinda wise poet or teacher man cool

  • Hey Sid Barret, you can ride my bike anytime u like. It`s got a basket, a bell and lot`s of things 2 make it look good. Your`s truly, Beamondo

  • Hey Syd Barret, u can come and ride my bike anytime! It`s got a basket, a bell and lot`s of things 2 make it look good.. Urs sincierly, the honey bumble Bea Mondo.

  • Mamma do you think they'll try to break my balls?

    Ooooooooooooooooh ah

Mamma should I build the wall?

  • and look how far they have come

  • muy buena la musica..pink floyd aunke no vivi en esa epoca es alucianante transportarse a esa epoca con esta musica

  • thanks for posting

  • Rogers makes it look like its HIS song, fuck him

  • Yeah right AdlejandroP

I can just hear Tori Amos belting out the vocals whilst 'Floyd supply the music for Great Gig in the Sky as I wander aimlessly through Tescos ;-)

  • The Lunatic is on the grass ...

  • this is still written by Roger Waters... Most of it was written by Roger Waters after Syd left... Roger tried to copy Syd's style... But then Roger became into his own style, both versions of Pink Floyd are very important, but in the album Dark Side Of The Moon, David Gilmour started making a lot of his own pieces, and Roger didn't like that... And it continued... And big argument... Both were Musical Genius... Including Rick Wright... All argued, just because of Roger. He could have been nicer.

  • this was written by Syd Barrett, he sings it too, he just doesnt appear in the video

  • O! I supposed it was after Syd left... You know... Because I didn't saw him, should have done research...

  • no this was written by syd barrett. roger waters is miming only because the promotional video needed a singer and syd wasn't available for the reasons we all know.

  • Think it was for the bands best

  • May be Roger was just on the alcohol and mushroom then, but Nick's was pretty stoned.

  • I always liked the sound of this record...Syd's guitar sounds and tastes like a crunchy, delicious breakfast cereal. Frank Zappa's "Let Me Take You To The Beach" does the same thing for me...

Great music for breakfast time. Try it! "Snap, crackle and pop!"

  • Only Brain Damage and most of Wish You Were Here... besides i said Syds music, not Syd himself.

  • No soporto el puto careto de Waters en primer plano. Diosss, menos mal que la edad le hizo un favor, porque joder... Un genio, sí, pero quería desahogarme XD

  • If only that blasted gong could talk...

  • Were they playing plugged into "Crate" amps? Sorry bad pun I couldn't resist.

  • Did you know when they wrote there lyrics they were high they were pot heads back then. But im a big fan of Pink Floyd.

  • i doubt it was a weaker drug like pot, probably LSD considering Syd Barrett was known for it, as well as the rest of Pink Floyd

  • who wernt potheads then lol

  • the C major scale after the "apples and orangeeees..." refrain (0:32, 1:08 etc)is actually played by syd, not by rick...

    anyway, syd and rick r.i.p.

    love

  • rogers face is funny

  • yes hehe is very funny when I see him makes me feel good!!!

  • pink floyd es musica

  • To kennypeeandpoo

No, you can calm down. I DON'T think that Pink Floyd is a person. Frankly I couldn't give a damn who wrote "Dogs". "Animals" is a staggeringly bad album.

I have the vinyl single of "Apples and Oranges", and (although Syd Barrett's guitar IS very trebly) it certainly doesn't sound as scratchy and compressed as a YouTube video (for fairly obvious reasons).

  • Christ - Richard looks so young!

  • Nice gap, roger.

  • IT S A SHAME. without Syd the pink are bad. And to make playback on the Syd voice is pathetic.

  • Well what were they supposed to do. Syd couldn't handle himself anymore, the album had to be promoted and the band was signed to make videos, so it was more like "do it or you are fired". At this stage yes, the Pink were bad without Syd because they were still using his material, under the orders of EMI records. As soon as they started making their own music, they got better and better, until they reached the point where they became the best. Syd's music got nothing on DSotm, WYWH and Animals.

  • So...anyone else notice this is one of those exceptionally rare vids that roger uses his fingers instead of a pick?

  • what is with this song? it sounds booty in this video.

  • Actually this is a very beautiful song - it's just the terrible, trebly, scratchy sound that makes it sound like "a noise", sospoema.

Pink Floyd did indeed write "Dogs"; what a comedown!

  • "terribly, scratchy sound", do you mean production?

it sounds like that on the cd too.

oh and it kind of sounds like you think Pink Floyd is a person. Roger Waters and David Gilmour wrote the music for "Dogs", and Waters wrote the lyrics.

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs"

  • dumbfuck

  • All these jerk offs I have to deal with every day!

  • and of course you deal with yourself

  • You dodn't have to read my comments, but you're spamming my inbox!

  • dumbfuck

  • Yeah - the waters lip synch rots.

  • what a noise!!

  • wish Syd was in this video

  • waters has a very whiny voice when he sings.

  • thats not waters voice man----pathetic

  • thats not waters voice man-----pathetic

  • It's funny watching Roger mime Syd's voice because it's hard to imagine him writing and singing a song like this himself lol!
