  • oh god yeah

  • lord finesse shit is way doper and its off the dome, percee p is dope but his homies back him up on every line

  • Finesse is sick in this, but I think hands down to Percee P, got mad flow skills, props to both though.

  • I favor Lord Finesse in this one, but HUGE props to both. Less than 15,000 views? Preposterous

  • This is an EPIC battle and people from the lil Wayne era should pay attention to this....This is Hip/Hop history RESPECT!!!!!

  • Love it

  • and i say finesses won, cuz he didn't have anyone in the back of em sayin everything he was. i mean don't get me wrong i love percee p but finesse won this no doubt

  • yo if your boy is in the back sayin what chu sayin then that aint no damn freestyle nigga, so yeah I'm goin wit finesse cuz percee p had his boys in the back sayin what he was sayin. finesse is one of the top freestylers of all time

  • @beezonaswarm420 This is a written battle. Probably the best one ever, and yes you're right Finesse won I reckon

  • @Sugardaddy86 Pleeeeeeez tell me that was a joke!!! lol

  • soulja boy would kill both of these clowns.

  • @Sugardaddy86

    Hahahaha, nice joke man!

  • @Sugardaddy86 O.o

  • lord finesse's batman shirt is the shit!!!!

  • whats that track in the beginning

  • damn everybody had the same fucking flow but its so sick

that BDK flo is prolly the best one invented my personal fav. tied with raekwon/gza, nas and rakim, jay flow is sick too but they shit is so murderous man

  • HIP HOP HISTORY man, both MC's are on top of their game... = classic shit

  • Percee P's track is called "Throwback Rap Attack"

  • just saw lord finesse about half an hour agoo (like no joke)

    - shook his hand, and talked to him!

  • @mikebiketrike where did you met him?

  • @ThaGoodOlBoomBap

oh he came to melbourne, Australia (where i live) and he rocked a little gig in the city and me and a bunch of mates spoke to him before the show cause he was signing shit really discretely and he signed a shirt for me (it's hangin on my wall). anyway he's real laid back funny guy and he keeps it real.

i love hip hop too much ahaha peaccee

  • Who won? Everyone who gets to listen to this masterful trade-off.

  • did he just compare himself to a unicorn? he lost right there . . .

  • @ImHighRiotNow420

He said your "Your unreal just like a unicorn", so nah Percee p didn't compare himself to that ha. Even if he did his lyrics and style is lethal, original. Like I'm trying to figure out exactly everything he's saying but some of the things he's saying when he's spitting has me saying wtf? ha. That's dope to me.

  • @s103adidas ahhh i see . . . Percee's style is definitely more complex, Finesse's is more laid back . . . they are both sick.

  • @ImHighRiotNow420 Agreed. There both beasts, on the mic.

  • who da fuck is little wain?

  • If only it were better quality. Damn 80's.

  • @l0rdtr4v1s imagine if you had this battle in full 1080P with a high grade mic ... oh if only

  • Type Essence....Two of the illest to ever do it. Thank you to who ever shot this and who ever uploaded this.....Incredible.

  • Percee P have a fire flow like nobody..

  • Shit I miss this old school flow

  • This is a Verse Match Competition. I thought it was a Snap on Freestyle Battle.

  • I keep coming back to this battle periodically....fucking dope!

  • 2 of the many great artists to bless hip-hop.

  • Looks like Jay Z was here,,,,

  • this is one of the first examples of multi syllable rhyming i have seen. anyone know of an earlier one. (except for the kool g albums)

  • teknashend ur stupid this was in 1989 so at the time it was a freestyle

  • fuck you who ever dislike this freestyle!

  • These videos make me grateful for youtube. Amazing history here!

  • It's actually funny how many light years Percee P is ahead. He used the same opening verse in this video on his 2007 album perseverance, if thats not an example of someone being ahead of their time, I don't know what the fuck is.

  • yo why is Lord FInesse spitting the SAME shit that he spit on "Track the movement" that he came out with in 1990 ?

this aint no freestyle, shit is str8 written, bitten, i expose ya fallacy that is this is spittin, so embarrassed it make u and ya man quit &, start doin stick ups n end up in sam quentin !

  • @teknashend Lol, you can write freestyles and battle raps. You think L and Pun did it off the dome?

  • @Ostrasize Haha, ignore that moron.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ostrasize na nigga... but this is str8 89 THO !!!

niggas back THEN thought this was ancient man... so im tellin u... if this shit wasn't straight written.. they was fakin the funk... WORD UP

  • @teknashend You're so dumb. This was recorded in 1989. Lord Finesse's first album came out in 1990.

  • i feel still the best battle on youtube EVVERR

  • It took me forever to realize this, but, hilariously enough, Percee P recycles the same two bars ("Percee P, no rapper gets worse than me/When it comes to rhymes, every verse will be") at the 2:49-2:54 and 7:08-7:13 marks.

I think that he was caught up enough in the intensity of the battle that he didn't even subconsciously realize that he was repeating himself. It doesn't matter, though... it did nothing to deter what was a DAMN fine performance in the first two rounds.

    Percee P = LEGEND.

  • @BLRD2MugenAndHipHop well put

  • @68skate68: Thank you very much for saying so.

  • @BLRD2MugenAndHipHop Old school artists used to do that all the time.

  • @BXisAWOL: If you're referring to how emcees used to kick the same verses on different stages and in numerous situations before putting them on wax, then I see what you're saying. But I don't think that many of them ended up doing the exact same couplet twice in the middle of a single session.

It's one thing to recycle a verse you did in one place at another location. But to recycle the same two bars in the course of one performance... I don't think that happened very often. ~:-(

  • They're both kinda sick. Percee P got the better flow and deepness, but I will say that Finesse has better wit and humour. I like the fact that they battled but remained cool with each other. Not this stupid rap now. This is REAL Hip Hop.

  • Percee P. one of the most underrated..

  • @amphibiousoner hell yeah this guy got a flow make you shacke everytime you got to love it haha :D i am 22 now and i think real hiphop and oldschool willl be with me forever it shaped me to what i am

  • @royblonk lord finesse gets it done 2 :)

  • aaah snap

  • is the beat lyrics of fury sounds similiar

  • Epic, Finesse is the man.

  • if you gonna watch this...and in enjoy it... you HAVE TO un-learn that smack dvd grindtime 106 & park new age bullshit to overstand what your watching...this is EMCEEING minus the DJ...true school hip hop....

  • CLASSIC

  • Like this is you hate when someone says like this because someone brought you here

  • Like this if 2dopeboyz brought you here

  • classick!

  • It doesnt seem as though Purcee P is freestylin...Are they supposed to be?

  • @seabrawk No, they're just dropping written shit, that's how battles were back then. Its kind of better that way, written always beats freestyled

  • you will never see rap like this again .....true classic

  • does anyone know that song at :49

  • Where did you get this!!! great post!
