The most accurate term for Seymour is "tragic hero". LSOH perfectly fits the classic tragedy of "flawed hero brought down by fatal flaw" (not the modern "tragedy" of "perfect character has bad things happen to him for no reason", ie most Newbery Award Winners)

I have front row tickets to this thing. I'm worried about misconceptions, though. You make it sound like Seymour's the hero...when he's actually the villian. HE'S the murderer. Audrey II is little more than a metaphor for selfishness. Remember that and this will be epic.
