We should celebrate Mawlid like Ahmed Deedat says. I just love the way he tackles the person who is asking for proof. Whatever proof is given to heim he will not believe. We go to extremes to explain to people that there is nothing wrong with celebrating the Prophet's Birthday. Just love Ahmed Deedat's response. Subhan Allah. May Allah grant him Jannah.

Mowlid is bida because of all the compiled deeds done in one day just like the quran. bida is categoirsed - compulsary, sunnah, allowed, disklike and haram. 2) Hazrat Omar stopped the Qunoot during Fajar and Maghrib prayer, which was allowed during time of prophet (now only is performed by Shafai maslak and by Shias)
3) Hazrat Omar started bida of Taravih prayer, which had been stopped during the time of prophet

Celebrating the Birhday of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is a good bidah a biddah e hassanah and inshAllah we will be rewarded for it as it is stated in Sahih Muslim the holy prophet (peace be upon him) said " who ever invents a good Bidah then he will be rewarded for it and so will the people who practice it and he who invents a bad bidah (bidah e sayiah) then those who practice it will be punished and will be sinful". So the difference is that there are two Bidahs!.

@muslimallday Your own scholars are categorising bida into 2 categories. bin baaz. the word kull (every) has also been used in the quran 46:25 "Destroying ALL things by commandment of its Lord. And morning found them so that naught could be seen save their dwellings". Thus, the dwellings were not destroyed although "all" things had been destroyed. "All" here means specifically the lives of the unbelievers of 'Ad and their properties except their houses.

Bad bidcah = somthing that goes against the teaching of quran and sunnah such as wiping socks and praying salat in different language. Good Bica = Somthing which does not go against the teaching of Islam in anyway, must have root in Islam. such as Mowlid, Compilation of the quran & hadith, fiqh etc etc

@qadiriya.as.The defintion of bid ah from ulema of holy land. Sheikh uthaymeen ra said according to shariah, it is worshipping allah in ways that are not of the prophet saws or his rightly guided khalifas. Allah has created us for nothing but worship, it has to be from sunnah, no other way, we dont read 3 sunnah in fajr, we read 2. these things like cars, loudspeakers are not a bidah in this context as they are not worship but make existing worship comfortable. Having a third eid is worship.
Can you tell me how mowlid is not in the sunnah?, in fact every action done in the mowlid is from the sunnah. Gathering people together, praising the prophet SAW, making dua, feeding the people, celebrations, reading quran and seera of the prophet SAW. aint these all not part of the sunnah? if I use my car for good, such as carrying people for free, aint this not an act of worship?

@qadiriya yes..some things done on milad are verily from the sunnah. Bayaans, dhikr, worship, quran. But we should do these acts often not only having one day reserved for it. At its core milad is a bidah because it is a third eid, an extra special day added to the religion, considered to be extra special with added benefit and virtue. It was not done by the prophet saws, the sahabah, tabiun and first started by sunnis 600 years after the prophet saws. FACT.
If we do Milaad everyday, you people still say its bidca, If we do once a month, bidca, Once a year still bidca. Please make up your minds. Now you saying that "we should do often, not once a year". Is there anything that prohibits us from doin it once a year? Allah SWT commands us to do the good deeds, whether u do it once a year, once in a month, however you can do it. An example of this is having a third eid- the eid milad. We do not pray 3 sunnah for fajr because that would be a bidah. The eid milad is a third eid added into the religion thats why it is bidah. Some of the things done on that day quran, bayaans, dhikr, hadith can be done on any day, and should be done often.
@immyovuk your understanding of bid'ah is flawed. you are saying bidah is that which the prophet saw did not do, but in that case building a new mosque is bidah. if you say that it is sunnah as it fulfils a need, then i say there is more need to increase our love for the prophet saw. If it does not interfere with the faraidh, then you can never call it bidah dalalah. It is an addition and is considered mandub as one is fulfilling the command of Allah to love the Prophet. This is a means to it.

@qadiriya GPU i dont think its organised by salafis, plus having this branding is not good. Muslims are muslims we need to stay away from haters causing division. i dont go to GPU. But i dont think that its apart of your deen to go to GPU. It is a conference, a jalsa, you go to listen to lectures, seek knowledge and unity. Its from the sunnah. Going to classes and talks is beneficial, speakers do come to give talks in mosques and universities.

Milaad is celebration day. its the day the prophet SAW was born, wats more important than this day? whether you say eid milaad un nabi or not will not make any diference. what is the meaning of eid?

Its believed to be a day of extra blessing and virtues which is a part of your aqeedah, but is not sunnah. @immyovuk if it is not sunnah, why did the Prophet (saw) when asked why he fasts on Mondays, say that this is the day he was born? the process of having a gathering etc is bidah lughawi, i.e. bidah in the linguistic sense, but it is not against the sunnah as it contains nothing that is against the general command of loving the prophet. See Imam Shafi'is definition of bidah and he says 'al bid'atu khamsatu aqsamin'.. bidah is of 5 types... the bidah of mawlid is of a mandub type.... point proven

The prophet didnt party, milad isnt always on monday, also the prophet saws fasted 13 14 15 monthly and did cupping too monthly. Lets get each date and throw a party. A third eid a day of extra blessing and virtue is not from sunnah, its in your aqeeda. The gpu conference can be cancelled this year, it dont make a difference, its not worship.

@Barerra1. brother, you have made a judgement on abdul wahhab ra on hearsay of the dividers. I have attained both sides and he was good, allah knows best. We love and follow all the great classical ulema, ibn taymiyyah, the 4 imams, abdul qadir jilani ra etc.. but we love the truth more, from the quran and sunnah. Everybody after the prophet saws was prone to error and i make many more errors than the ulema. Salafis are not a new group, they live on the ways of the salaf!

@ayomuar..the hadiths clearly say that follow me and my rightly guided khalifa. This was a man who compiled the quran, uthman ra was guaranteed jannah, he was a close companion of the prophet saws. Out of his wisdom usman ra decided to do an adhaan outside the masjid to get people to the jumah khutbah in urgency. But only one adhaan was given in the mosque for jumuah. Today we have watches and loudspeakers so 1 adhaan should be given. Milad un nabee was not even done by imam abu haneefa ra.

Now the messenger of allah saws told us how to live our lives entirely in detail, how to wear clothes, bath, cut nails. how to praise him when hearing his name. Meaning if abdul wahab ra made any error we reject that error like he would want us to do, same goes for all other scholars. Abu haneefa ra ordered us to reject anything of his that by mistake went against quran and sunnah. ulema do make human errors, i make many more. We love the ulema, we follow them and learn from them but the quran and sunnah takes first priority.
@Barerra1 brother..i like sheikh deedat more than zakir naik myself, i related to sheikh deedat more. however sheikh deedat awarded zakir naik saying on the award that you have achieved more in 4 years than i have achieved in 40 years. Mowlid is bida because of all the compiled deeds done in one day just like the quran. bida is categoirsed - compulsary, sunnah, allowed, disklike and haram. 1) Hazrat Omar terminated the MUTAH marriage, which was allowed during time of prophet as well as during time of Hazrat Abu Bakar
2) Hazrat Omar stopped the Qunoot during Fajar and Maghrib prayer, which was allowed during time of prophet (now only is performed by Shafai maslak and by Shias)
3) Hazrat Omar started bida of Taravih prayer, which had been stopped during the time of prophet

Celebrating the Birhday of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is a good bidah a biddah e hassanah and inshAllah we will be rewarded for it as it is stated in Sahih Muslim the holy prophet (peace be upon him) said " who ever invents a good Bidah then he will be rewarded for it and so will the people who practice it and he who invents a bad bidah (bidah e sayiah) then those who practice it will be punished and will be sinful". So the difference is that there are two Bidahs!.

And morning found them so that naught could be seen save their dwellings". Thus, the dwellings were not destroyed although "all" things had been destroyed. "All" here means specifically the lives of the unbelievers of 'Ad and their properties except their houses.

please im not an argumentative person but i get alot of hate wahhabi this wahhabi that so im defending myself and what i believe to be true from my open minded research. Where i live people have branded ahle hadith wahhabi kafirs etc etc without doing any research, from pure hearsay. But i hate arguments, im just trying to learn and discuss.

Bad bidcah = somthing that goes against the teaching of quran and sunnah such as wiping socks and praying salat in different language. Good Bica = Somthing which does not go against the teaching of Islam in anyway, must have root in Islam. such as Mowlid, Compilation of the quran & hadith, fiqh etc etc

@qadiriya.as.The defintion of bid ah from ulema of holy land. Sheikh uthaymeen ra said according to shariah, it is worshipping allah in ways that are not of the prophet saws or his rightly guided khalifas. Allah has created us for nothing but worship, it has to be from sunnah, no other way, we dont read 3 sunnah in fajr, we read 2. these things like cars, loudspeakers are not a bidah in this context as they are not worship but make existing worship comfortable. Having a third eid is worship.

Can you tell me how mowlid is not in the sunnah?, in fact every action done in the mowlid is from the sunnah. Gathering people together, praising the prophet SAW, making dua, feeding the people, celebrations, reading quran and seera of the prophet SAW. aint these all not part of the sunnah? if I use my car for good, such as carrying people for free, aint this not an act of worship?

to pray 3 rakat in fajr its bidca because it goes against the teaching of quran and sunnah. Quran and Sunanh teaches us to pray 2 not 3. This is how u need to clarify bidca.

@qadiriya yes..some things done on milad are verily from the sunnah. Bayaans, dhikr, worship, quran. But we should do these acts often not only having one day reserved for it. At its core milad is a bidah because it is a third eid, an extra special day added to the religion, considered to be extra special with added benefit and virtue. It was not done by the prophet saws, the sahabah, tabiun and first started by sunnis 600 years after the prophet saws. FACT.

If we do Milaad everyday, you people still say its bidca, If we do once a month, bidca, Once a year still bidca. Please make up your minds. Now you saying that "we should do often, not once a year". Is there anything that prohibits us from doin it once a year? Allah SWT commands us to do the good deeds, whether u do it once a year, once in a month, however you can do it. @qadiriya please understand what i am saying! let me make it simple, bidah is worshipping allah in ways other than that of the prophet saws and the rightly guided khalifa. An example of this is having a third eid- the eid milad. We do not pray 3 sunnah for fajr because that would be a bidah. The eid milad is a third eid added into the religion thats why it is bidah. Some of the things done on that day quran, bayaans, dhikr, hadith can be done on any day, and should be done often.

@immyovuk your understanding of bid'ah is flawed. you are saying bidah is that which the prophet saw did not do, but in that case building a new mosque is bidah. if you say that it is sunnah as it fulfils a need, then i say there is more need to increase our love for the prophet saw. If it does not interfere with the faraidh, then you can never call it bidah dalalah. It is an addition and is considered mandub as one is fulfilling the command of Allah to love the Prophet. This is a means to it.

@qadiriya GPU i dont think its organised by salafis, plus having this branding is not good. Muslims are muslims we need to stay away from haters causing division. i dont go to GPU. But i dont think that its apart of your deen to go to GPU. It is a conference, a jalsa, you go to listen to lectures, seek knowledge and unity. Its from the sunnah. Going to classes and talks is beneficial, speakers do come to give talks in mosques and universities.

Its a new introduction in to the religion, celebrating the prophets birthday when sunni muslims did not do it for first 600years. A third eid, the eid milad un nabi, is a the notion of a third spiritual religious day of extra virtue and significance not done by the prophet saws or those who loved him the most for hundreds of years. GPU is giving a conference, which was done by the prophet saws and is sunnah.

Mowlid is introduced 6th century, GPU introduced 15th century. everything thats done in the Mowlid, its done at the GPU. if u say GPU is sunnah then u must also admit and say mowlid is sunnah. Milaad is celebration day. its the day the prophet SAW was born, wats more important than this day? whether you say eid milaad un nabi or not will not make any diference. what is the meaning of eid?

Its believed to be a day of extra blessing and virtues which is a part of your aqeedah, but is not sunnah. When you give a talk or a conference and people come to seek beneficial knowledge from knowledgable people that is a sunnah which was done by the prophet saws. i do not go to GPU, only a small minority go. @immyovuk if it is not sunnah, why did the Prophet (saw) when asked why he fasts on Mondays, say that this is the day he was born? the process of having a gathering etc is bidah lughawi, i.e. bidah in the linguistic sense, but it is not against the sunnah as it contains nothing that is against the general command of loving the prophet. See Imam Shafi'is definition of bidah and he says 'al bid'atu khamsatu aqsamin'.. bidah is of 5 types... the bidah of mawlid is of a mandub type.... point proven

@immyovuk..Yes i know the hadith the prophet saws fasted on mondays because he was born on a monday also he got revelation on monday too. The prophet didnt party, milad isnt always on monday, also the prophet saws fasted 13 14 15 monthly and did cupping too monthly. Lets get each date and throw a party. A third eid a day of extra blessing and virtue is not from sunnah, its in your aqeeda. The gpu conference can be cancelled this year, it dont make a difference, its not worship.

Now the Message was a Blessing to us from Allah SWT and the messenger who carried the message was a Blessing and I show my gratitude as long as the worshiping doesnt go against Shariah. @Barerra1. brother, you have made a judgement on abdul wahhab ra on hearsay of the dividers. I have attained both sides and he was good, allah knows best. We love and follow all the great classical ulema, ibn taymiyyah, the 4 imams, abdul qadir jilani ra etc.. but we love the truth more, from the quran and sunnah. Everybody after the prophet saws was prone to error and i make many more errors than the ulema. Salafis are not a new group, they live on the ways of the salaf!

@ayomuar..the hadiths clearly say that follow me and my rightly guided khalifa. This was a man who compiled the quran, uthman ra was guaranteed jannah, he was a close companion of the prophet saws. Out of his wisdom usman ra decided to do an adhaan outside the masjid to get people to the jumah khutbah in urgency. But only one adhaan was given in the mosque for jumuah. Today we have watches and loudspeakers so 1 adhaan should be given. Milad un nabee was not even done by imam abu haneefa ra.

Now the messenger of allah saws told us how to live our lives entirely in detail, how to wear clothes, bath, cut nails. how to praise him when hearing his name. My brother open your narrow minded brain and look Allah SWT is marking periods before they announced prophethood. These arent just stories but Allah SWT mercy on mankind. @Barerra1, You are not listening, abdul wahhab ra is one of the classic scholars we follow, but we love the truth more. Meaning if abdul wahab ra made any error we reject that error like he would want us to do, same goes for all other scholars. Abu haneefa ra ordered us to reject anything of his that by mistake went against quran and sunnah. ulema do make human errors, i make many more. We love the ulema, we follow them and learn from them but the quran and sunnah takes first priority.

@Barerra1 brother..i like sheikh deedat more than zakir naik myself, i related to sheikh deedat more. however sheikh deedat awarded zakir naik saying on the award that you have achieved more in 4 years than i have achieved in 40 years. Zakir naik learnt off him and others, and surpassed deedat carrying on the effort of truth not only against christianity, but hinduism and other faiths as well as learning islam in detail too, and zakir naiks brain power is a gift from allah.

The fact is that sunni muslims first celebrated milad 600 years after islam was completed. You see everyone after the prophet saws was prone to mistakes. We all make mistakes. Human error. Shk deedat was a great man, however if he believed that milad un nabee is a special day with added virtue so we celebrate it, then that is an error on his part. bidah.
