Meanwhile, this guy sounds like every other Japanese voice actor I've heard. He doesn't do anything with his performance to make it distinct; it's just like a straight read.

And I don't know if this is some kind of hearing problem or if you just don't speak japanese, but his voice acting *is* distinct. Otherwise, why would he be so popular? Conroy and Hammil, they did one character. Norio Wakamoto voiced dozens, if not hundreds of characters and all gave them a unique personality.

How is it distinct? What quality does he lend to the characters he plays?

Examples: Kevin Conroy's Batman sounds grim and gritty, but he also makes Bruce Wayne sound light-hearted and clueless. Mark Hammill has a great falsetto vocal range and wrote the book on insane laughter.
