When did this shit turn from F Zero to Street Fighter, like shit, somebody was fan of street fighter, Ryu = Ryu, Goroh = Gouken, Shadow = M Bison, and idk, i am just drunk watching this
Oh...! The Dragon Bird GT as seen in F-Zero Climax, piloted by Clank Hughes under the training of Neo Captain Falcon (won't spoil who it is until last episode). It's called the Dragon Bird GT because it has golden decals, and, of course, runs on two Reactors Might.
I hated how Black Shadow sounded in the 4Kids dub. How dare those bastards make him sound like James from Team Rocket, 4Kids is turning video game based animes into Pokemon style stories.
@VysetheTard You have clearly no clue what you are talking about. Norio Wakamoto is the most revered voice actor in all of Japan. How could someone like Hamill or Conroy compare?
"You have clearly no clue what you are talking about."
- Distinguishing good and bad Japanese voice acting is like distinguishing pricey and cheap wine: It's actually impossible, but it doesn't stop silly people like yourself from acting as though there's a world of difference.
"Norio Wakamoto is the most revered voice actor in all of Japan."
- In other words, don't trust your own taste. Just look at the label on the wine bottle to figure out whether you should like it.
I can think of no one else who could properly fill their shoes. Their voices have become iconic for their roles.
Meanwhile, this guy sounds like every other Japanese voice actor I've heard. He doesn't do anything with his performance to make it distinct; it's just like a straight read.
Why do you think this guy is hot shit when he's so boring?
@VysetheTard Iconic? Right, that's because people hardly know them outside america, while voice actors like Norio Wakamoto, Ryusei Nakao and others are known around the world.
And I don't know if this is some kind of hearing problem or if you just don't speak japanese, but his voice acting *is* distinct. Otherwise, why would he be so popular? Conroy and Hammil, they did one character. Norio Wakamoto voiced dozens, if not hundreds of characters and all gave them a unique personality.
"And I don't know if this is some kind of hearing problem or if you just don't speak japanese, but his voice acting *is* distinct. Otherwise, why would he be so popular?"
How is it distinct? What quality does he lend to the characters he plays?
Examples: Kevin Conroy's Batman sounds grim and gritty, but he also makes Bruce Wayne sound light-hearted and clueless. Mark Hammill has a great falsetto vocal range and wrote the book on insane laughter.
@VysetheTard He makes the villains sound threatening and intimidating and his comedical roles are over the top. Cell sounds like a smug son of a bitch, while Victoream is just a clown who thinks he's all great when he's really nothing.
And if you do not care how well they are known, then you are simply ignoring facts.
@VysetheTard You mean you never heard of Dragonball? In this case, we don't need to discuss this any longer, because clearly you don't know Anime at all and therefor, you are unable to even discuss such a topic as japanese voice acting since you have no ear for that.
- No, I've heard of Dragonball. I've just never watched an episode, because it looks repetitive and infantile.
"In this case, we don't need to discuss this any longer, because clearly you don't know Anime at all"
There are animes besides Dragonball, pal, and even ones that aren't stupid as all hell. Those are the ones I prefer. It's like saying someone doesn't know video games if they don't play Pokemon. What a crock of shit.
Of course, he is, only in GP Legend, not in other versions. It's really strange that almost everyone's background here were changed, such as Jack as a former member of Blood Chain Gang; Tanaka and EAD as avid fans of Kate Alen; Don Genie, Deathborn, and B Shadow are referring to one person; and Deathborn being under the command of B Shadow. Pretty weird but I still love this anime.
LordZast: Huh, Ryu's gear near the start makes me think of Street Fighter's Ryu, and Ms.Killer's fate puts me in mind of Star Wars. So, has Ryu's vehicle been upgraded with a 2nd Reactor might? Just before their race, it seemed like that was the friendliest that B.Shadow and Zoda have ever been to one another. Thanks again, Fzeropower, you're really uploading these at a rapid pace now.

That voice is not appropriate for Black Shadow. At all. The Japanese have less dramatic sense than Keanu Reeves.

I don't think so... That voice makes Black Shadow more badass to me. It's so evil!

What do you mean, what am I talking about? He's not menacing at all.
He should sound like a scarier Japanese version of Kevin Conroy. Instead he just sounds like some guy they pulled in off the street.
VysetheTard 3 years ago
I've gotta say you're pretty critical of Norio's acting.
Could you or Kevin Conroy do a better job?
i doubt it.
Mg241086 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Conroy? No doubt about it.
Me? Probably, since my voice is deeper than this guy's. But then, so is Mark Hamill's when he's portraying the Joker.

- So what went wrong here? You think this sounds threatening and intimidating?
"and his comedical roles are over the top"

"Cell... while Victoream..."
- I don't watch a lot of bad anime, except maybe for topical clips like this, so I have no idea who those guys are.
"...then you are simply ignoring facts."
- Fame is an unreliable yardstick for talent.
