wow i cant believe all the NEGATIVE remarks people are posting!! do you guys not see the bumper to bumper traffic on the right hand side of the road?? did you not see how he almost came to a complete stop while crossing the intersection @ 0:18, @ 0:42 you could hear how someone told the engineer to get in the middle of the road, @ 0:50 you could see how he slows down while crossing the intersection with a yellow light, all this while maintaining a safe speed!!!
well the only thing i can see that he is doing wrong is the speed we do the same thing but at a slow speed!!!! lights and siren were going. like last week there was so much traffic stoped on the pa turnpike that we had to go east bout in the west bound lane. or going through town traffic is stoped and know where to pull over we shoot to the left of the road till its clear enough to get on the right side but like i said we do it a a slower rate

Okay, no two fires are the same. Our current pumper has a 500 gallon tank, we have been lucky to handle it. We use to have a fully involved car once a week here. We do have a 1250 gallon tanker, but we do not have it dispatched for a car fire. I know SOPs and SOGs are different in different parts of the country. One thing to keep in mind, there are law firms out there that all they do is go after fire, police and ems for accidents and we need to cover our backsides when responding.

First due pulls 2 lines 2nd due engine hooks them up to the hydrant incase it is needed. I've seen it happen before where the car fire was very stubborn and they ran out of tank water

i think WAY too much for a second due apparatus on a car fire. Car fires around here we send out 1 piece unless command calls out another rescue or station.
The driver got lucky that so many things didn't go wrong - besides, they were second due - there was already apparatus at the scene. If I were the operator or officer - I'd never even think about taking things this far (or I'd avoid this road altogether).
Some times the most direct route is not always the safest and fastest way to get there.
