I sent you a link to a gentleman that sells Jungle Cock on ebay in America as I don't know of any supplier over your way, the link I sent you is a good cape for the money....
Hi Davie, nice beetle, it really looks alive, great idea using jungle cock, I still haven't got bug bond would varnish acheive the same effect, you've very prolific with your videos just lately, i've been in hospital for a couple of weeks and i'm amazed at how many new ones you've released, it going to take me a while to catch up. Best regards Alan
It's a vice that I haven't had the chance to look at so to be honest I couldn't recommend you buying it but it does look ok, I would always like to have a go with it first just to see how it preforms, if you can find someone that uses this vice then I'm sure they will keep you right..
In no order of preference these vises are worth a look at, Norvise, Jvise, Regal, HMH, Snowbee Waldron and the Dyna-King you'll find some info on Youtube to some of these vices..I hope this is of some help to you..ATB Davie
great job, i have yet to find a fly shop that sells jungle cock feathers i like the deerhair body though, i think the hook gap looks to big on that fly, i do think a 16 shank and 16 gap would work better, but i guess that is just my opinion
One brilliant way of using up some over sized JC nails. Love the fact that the deer underfur doesn't have to be removed. I'll be tying some of these up!
Never really been happy with the way that some foam backed beetles tend to lie sideways on the surface, (i test them all first), maybe down to me using too light a hook though. The B160 seems a better option!
During spring and summer we target yellowfish in crystal clear water on beetles. Once the wind blows them into the lake you will not get a take unless you have a beetle pattern (mostly foam beetles).
I'm going to add this to my arsenal and hopefully I can entice a couple of fish with this!
Hi Davie,
Do you know of any Jungle coq suppliers in the US? I'v really had trouble finding the stuff.
Hope you can help. Thanks, Tom
