Nice work! Do you know the specific episodes that you show the Roadrunner in? I got a 69' myself that needs restoration, and your videos are kinda giving me an idea of the way to do body work.
Thanx for posting. For those who haven't done quarters, nothing is ever is ever set in stone. Let me get the quarter off and then I can give you a better idea about what we're up against. That's why I hate estimating jobs. Trunk rail, rear window channels and inner fenders all tie in and become problems. Don't center your trunk panels on the trunk latch it's 3/4's off center. Use your tail light openings.
Thanks for sharing the good advise. Your right about "estimates" they are only a guess, sometimes it seems like as soon as you give an "estimate" the number is set in stone to the client. I guess that's because money can be so hard to come by that it's tough to afford the job and when more cost is added on the client tends to get shocked a bit.
I noticed you had the RR up on stands while you were replacing the quarter panel. I always thought you were suppose to install it just as the car would normally sit, as once you got it back on the ground tolerances might change. Let me know your thoughts on this. Good video. I think the AMD panels are decent.
If you go back to episode # 6 I go into detail about leveling the Road Runner preparing it for quarter panel replacement. I believe if you put a quarter panel on a level car you make the suspension fit the level car, in other words you don't make the body fit the suspension you make the suspension fit the car.
wow this was extremely helpful thnx jeff. im replacing both rear quarters and the frame rails on my 69 roarunner. soon. any tips on how to do the rear frame rails.
Frame rails are going to be tougher than the quarters, make sure you take plenty of measurements. Brace and support the car so its nice and solid and won't move on you. I'm assuming you are repairing rust. Use the AMD Quarters.
Great Short Film

I'm not sure have you tried doing a search I would have most likely used Road Runner in the tags for the videos.
