Nothing wrong with 720p unless you have a PS3 or watch Blu-Ray movies. A lot of the "HD" stuff being broadcast is only at 720p, including YouTube's "HD" option.

See, that's exactly my problem. I bought this two years ago when I had the 360, and it only supports 720p for games, so that was fine, but now, it's just not good enough. HD DVD's and Blu Rays still look great even at 720p, but I want the full res, and now that I have a system that can play a decent number of the games at 1080p, I gotta upgrade. This tv was great, but it's gettin old.
Well, size wise mine's only the next size up. It's not one of the huge ones like the 40"+ or 50"+ ones out there. I'm actually laughing at some of the people on Newegg that reviewed this and said it couldn't be anything more than a bedroom TV because it was "only 37 inches." ONLY 37? LOL. I grew up with a 12" Daewoo piece of junk with an off-center screen. People have really gotten spoiled. =D
My younger brother recently got a similar set up going on as well. He just got an hd monitor for his computer, about the same size, and hooked up a ps3 he recently got as well to it as well as his computer. I haven't realized how much I'm missing out without hd, my 360 on my standard def tv looks like nothing compared to my brother's ps3 on hd output. But he still lives with my parents, so he can afford to get these things since he doesn't have bills.
I basically took out a 3-month loan from myself to do this. I got the TV when Newegg and other retailers were desperate to sell stuff and had everything recession-priced and won't be doing anything with the tax refund next Spring to make up for it. =)
Really enjoyed this update (seems like it's been a while since we've heard from ya!). Awesome new screen!

Wow, my lounge TV is only 32 inches, my actual bedroom tv, and hopefully soon to be monitor is 19 inches.
At the moment, I haven't actually got anything HD plugged into either of my TVs anyway. xD
