Darwin believed in the Christian God until 1851, he stopped believing in the Christian God due to his daughter's death. His theory of evolution was developed while he believed Jesus was God (he was an orthodox Christian). So for his contributions to Science, in his Scientific working he was a Christian.

Theres no such thing as an agnostic Christian. To be a Christian one must only have faith in Jesus Christ, the very person whom we get the terms "Christian" or "Christianity" from. No, there are many forms of Christianity. There are many different theological perspectives on who Jesus was, what he did, and other main theological points like predestination among calvinists and transubstantiation among Catholics. There are different forms of Christianity, as Newton himself was an aryan and was a non trinitarian but nontheless Christian. Alot of the people listed I am not sure even claimed christianity plus I do not think that anyone other than Paul on your top 30 deserved to be on the list more than Peter, John, Matthew, Mark, Luke Timothy or any o the others mentioned in the new testament. He ended up becoming a geologist, but in 1831 he took a voyage that lasted around 5 years on the HMS Beuagle. Darwin developed his theory of natural selection by 1838, but didn't publish his works until 1858.
He de-converted to Agnostic Deism in 1851 due to his daughter's death not evolution, so yeah Darwin is still considered a Christian.

Darwin believed in the Christian God until 1851, he stopped believing in the Christian God due to his daughter's death. His theory of evolution was developed while he believed Jesus was God (he was an orthodox Christian). So for his contributions to Science, in his Scientific working he was a Christian.
When we talk about Darwin, we're referring to anytime before 1851, he developed his theory of natural selection in 1838, 13 years before he rejected Christ.

Darwin was a Christian from 1809-1851 then after he became agnostic.
Agnostic-a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.

You're an idiot. First of all Darwin was going to become an ordained minister. He was a Christian while developing the theory of Evolution, he was still a Christian after finishing this. He had most of his 'Origin of Species' finished when he was still a Christian. He stopped being a Christian when his daughter died (and only because of his daughter). He continued to support the church for the rest of his life as an Agnostic Deist.

Because Picasso (bapt. catholic) was an atheist and member of the communist party. Darwin (former anglican) also was not a believer: at least he did not believe in Christ as Son of God. To put these people with mother Theresa is a bit weird.

No, you're the one who obviously doesn't understand. He was a self-proclaimed Christian to begin with, but after his hearty study of that evolutionary idea, his faith in God waned to a certain extremity. In his autobiography he wrote, I had gradually come by this time to see that the Old Testament was no more to be trusted than the sacred books of the Hindoos or the beliefs of any barbarian. So I would suggest you refrain from implying that I am ignorant.

Darwin was a Christian most of his life, even after he developed and finished his Evolutionary theory he was still a Christian. How many times do I have to explain to everyone that Darwin de-converted from Christianity because of his daughter and not Science. Darwin continued to believe in a Deistic God in an Agnostic sense, and Darwin supported the Church all his life, he can be considered a unitarian (a form of protestantism). There are many forms of Christianity you know.

Theres no such thing as an agnostic Christian. To be a Christian one must only have faith in Jesus Christ, the very person whom we get the terms "Christian" or "Christianity" from. To be agnostic, is to believe that God is unknown or unknowable, to not be sure basically. I haven't researched whether Darwin actually was an Agnostic or not so I'm just going by what you said? My question then is how can someone believe in the person and work of Jesus, and at the same time be agnostic?

@ogirv101 NO THERE ARE NOT MANY FORMS OF CHRISTIANITY, Christianity is not believing in God, it is someone who has taken the Lord Jesus Christ, as their Savior, they come to him,repent of their sins, accept he died and enter a relationship with Jesus Christ,later being Baptized, showing the world their old life is dead and buried in a shallowy grave, so Darwin was not a Christian, he thought there could be a God, butdidnot worship Christ, so you are TOTALLY WRONG.

No, there are many forms of Christianity. There are many different theological perspectives on who Jesus was, what he did, and other main theological points like predestination among calvinists and transubstantiation among Catholics. There are different forms of Christianity, as Newton himself was an aryan and was a non trinitarian but nontheless Christian. Explain to me how you decide who is a Christian or not? your way is correct? why?

@ogirv101 You can't be a christian and then end up creating a different dinomination. If the bible is perfect, it shouldn't need 100s of different types of a religion trying to figure out who's interpretation is correct. Too much cherry picking ultimately means the story is probably false and to be honest, noone is going to heaven under that much confusion.

That's only true under the assumption that the Bible is perfect. Whether you're a Christian or not, it is ceirtain that the Bible is not perfect. It is not verbatim to the original document; furthermore it has been changed many times by scribes, and it was inspired by God but written by man. MAN IS FALLIBLE.

@ogirv101 No shit it's not perfect. It's full of holes and contradiction (unless planned) but along with fact, perfection is commonly twisted by believers. The problem is that if you're gonna claim your source of morality and a second life isn't perfect, you're admitting it doesn't deserve respect and they you're only following in habit and / or comfort. Man told you it was written by god so you're in trouble claiming god wrote that crap and allowed others to "twist" it. Clearly god's fallible.

The claim we are making it was written by people who were inspired by God, and saw divinely inspired events. In all honesty, I am not Christian; but so far you have done nothing in harming the legitimacy of Christianity and christian beliefs.

AND you will come to the conclusion that Only a supernatural God COULD have authored it. All the predictions about Christ came true. Over 300 of them. Some made 1400 years before he arrived here
