@bnm5015 Stock vs stock supra is faster then a VR4 and bolt on vs bolt on the supra is faster and lighter......RWD is always going to be faster then AWD or FWD assuming both way the same with same amount of HP to weight ratio..

@M3TurboE46 The trans in the VR4 is way better than the supra, if you bolt a bunch of parts onto a supra w/o doing tons of support work you're going to have a broken car soon. Now the motor and fuel delivery system of a supra is sweet, thats why a lot of car modifiers steal the setup and change it to fit their motor. The supra MAY be faster in a straight line and the ratio of supras left in good condition is higher than the ratio of good/bad 3000GTs left, but stock for stock they are close.

The 3000GT VR4 has a getrag transmission as well, and can also hold 600 AWHP without mods and 1000+ if the transfer case is reinforced. All I'm saying is I think that the 3000GT VR4 is a better car overall, considering my 436 AWHP semi-daily driver beats most cars on the road and drives perfectly in conditions that are less than optimal. I've driven my car in snow so high I was plowing the road with my bumper

But a Supra is a 6 cylinder, and there is no way in hell that even the most overhauled and turboed 4 cylinder Eclipse motor will beat a Twin Turbo RZ Supra motor that has been tuned, there is no way in hell. 2JZ GTE with aftermarket ignition system, with a stand alone fuel management system, running iridium spark plugs, properly dynoed, now way a 4 banger witll beat this
@TRILLGATES2K6 keep in mind that the eclipse gsx has pretty much the same motor and drive train as an evo + a few extra pounds, the evo being deigned for rally racing. and normally the displacement rule alone would say in the end the supra would be faster but with the sad fact is the fastest eclipse in the world is down in the six's while the fastest supra is running mid sevens. the fact is mitsu designed the perfect 4cly. performance wise, and in the end the eclipse will always be faster.

@Deph11s it depends on what you want and how bad you want it. I've found RB26DETT's for as cheap as $3,500.00 Thats pretty cheap to me. But expensive is relative to who is saying it. Im not saying I'm rich, but I dont think 3,500.00 is too much to spend on a good engine. The 2JZ-GTE I've found for about $5,000.00 so I dont see how that would be cheaper. But I wouldnt run a Toyota Motor in a Nissan or Vice Versa, thats just me.

Supras are also known for crankwalk. That is an easy preventative fix either way and only about 15% of the 7 bolts were known for crankwalk. The 6 bolts were bulletproof and a built 7 bolt was as well. Name the 6 other 4 bangers that can compete.
celica, prelude, integra, mulitple honda engines, evo, wrx. btw, when i said 4banger, i meant the engines and not the overall car. as far as i know, supras r known for being one of the most reliable cars u can buy. and 1g engines were great, but its higher then 15%. and by a built 7bolt, i hope u mean internals swapped out, cuz adding power to the stock internals increases the chance of crank walk.
The only engine you mentioned there that is halfway reliable and can handle more power then they are made for is the b series. NONE of the others have been known to do anything impressive unless fully rebuilt. And how could you even mention the prelude h22, are you kidding me? The evo engine is the same as the eclipse engine. Your case is moot, and I won't discuss this further until you educate yourself on this stuff. Not trying to be rude here.
It Looks to me that he mentioned the Evo. The 4g63T can reliably put out 300wkw on a standard engine (not including head work) And this has been proved time and time again with the very consistant times of the non-forged early evo's here in NZ putting down 11 and 10 second times all day every day without a rebuild. The gt4's 3sgte is also in the same category (just not a popular in NZ but in Euroupe they are doing great things)

Oh, you mean the fact that that's probably an N/A supra, and an SL 3000GT (N/A and FWD). That would be the ONLY way that DSM would win. 3000GT's run a mid 13 stock, and high 12's when BPU. Supras being faster than that, even more so from a roll. The filmer of this video, and most people leaving comments claiming the DSM has so much power, I'd do some research first, and learn that DSM's have NO advantages over the 3/S or Poopra.

obviously you know very little about cars, supply and demand. The demand for these cars is very low, therefore, there is a surplus of these cars available. Why is there a surplus available? Because they suck. Plain and simple. On the other hand, cars that are faster and better, demand is very high, surplus doesnt exist because of the high demand, and they are very rare. If the Eclipse was such a great car and such a hot commodity, there wouldnt be zillions of them on the roadways everyday. How many Supras do you see everyday? How many Skylines? How many 240SX's ???? @TRILLGATES2K6 Seriously, that has to be one of the stupidest things I've heard... Just because a car is rare does NOT make it better. It might be "cooler" but how rare a car is means nothing... ESPECIALLY with any tuner because they're all different. Unless you're talking stock, or a trucks durability or actually basically anything with a truck, these cars aren't even worth comparing. Basically what it comes down to is who has put more money into there car and who has a turbo or not

stock for stock yea... but theirs just way more aftermarket for the eclipse, and the 4g motor is virtually the same as what went into the lancer evos.. the supra couldn't have been heavily modified..

3000GT = boost controller
Supra = boost controller and fuel control
DSM = large turbo and fuel system
This was from forever ago, the "large" turbo was large for that day and was a FP Red or something like that.
That supra runs 9's now, and the DSM was in a wreck a long time ago.

the 6 second eclispe u talk of is a prostock car. theres nothing street trim about it. they have supras running low 8's and they are equpid with even AC and full interior! but john sheps dsm? no pure drag car. but dsm motors are one hell of a motor.
theres a 2jz solara dragster running mid 6's on here.

stock 3000s should run 13.7s with a fairly decent driver considering the engine is in good condition ... my buddy has a 93 vr4 n ran a 12.8 best and a 13.5 with a fmic, aftermarket bov, and boost controller ... now he has a walboro fp n bigger injectors ... no times yet though ... also vrs weigh a few hundred lbs more than supras ... vr4s r the heaviest of the 6cyl japanese monsters ... if the eclipse was making as much power as those 2 cars its gonna win reguardless power to weight ratio ...

wow i was expecting the supra and 3kgt to be in front. my last car was a stroked out gsx and it could barely handle my supra when it was stock turbos.and 3kgts ran 13's new they are worn now due to shitty engines. fast but shitty for reliability, and a bitch to work on but arent they all if worth having.

eh the basic stuff. 351, racing cam, racing pistons and rods, performace coil/wires, performance exhaust system, 4 barrel elderbrok carb, etc etc. is runing about high 12 low 13s. body in decent shape though.

Supras are also known for crankwalk. That is an easy preventative fix either way and only about 15% of the 7 bolts were known for crankwalk. The 6 bolts were bulletproof and a built 7 bolt was as well. Name the 6 other 4 bangers that can compete.

celica, prelude, integra, mulitple honda engines, evo, wrx. btw, when i said 4banger, i meant the engines and not the overall car. as far as i know, supras r known for being one of the most reliable cars u can buy. and 1g engines were great, but its higher then 15%. and by a built 7bolt, i hope u mean internals swapped out, cuz adding power to the stock internals increases the chance of crank walk.

The only engine you mentioned there that is halfway reliable and can handle more power then they are made for is the b series. NONE of the others have been known to do anything impressive unless fully rebuilt. And how could you even mention the prelude h22, are you kidding me? The evo engine is the same as the eclipse engine. Your case is moot, and I won't discuss this further until you educate yourself on this stuff. Not trying to be rude here.

It Looks to me that he mentioned the Evo. The 4g63T can reliably put out 300wkw on a standard engine (not including head work) And this has been proved time and time again with the very consistant times of the non-forged early evo's here in NZ putting down 11 and 10 second times all day every day without a rebuild. The gt4's 3sgte is also in the same category (just not a popular in NZ but in Euroupe they are doing great things)

Oh, you mean the fact that that's probably an N/A supra, and an SL 3000GT (N/A and FWD). That would be the ONLY way that DSM would win. 3000GT's run a mid 13 stock, and high 12's when BPU. Supras being faster than that, even more so from a roll. The filmer of this video, and most people leaving comments claiming the DSM has so much power, I'd do some research first, and learn that DSM's have NO advantages over the 3/S or Poopra.
