can somebody help me? I'm looking for a real good HD video camera/camcorder that can film in daylight or during nighttime, that's 200 dollars or less....is there such a thing? respond to this comment with a camera name and i'll look it up thx
I have been impressed with the canon zoom and quality of picture,however.I think there is a problem with this camera when it comes to macro shooting,would someone like to prove me wrong ???.
If you are considering the Sony HX-1 or Canon SX1 IS, you should also consider the Casio EX-F1 because it has a focus ring around the lens, a external mic jack, a hot shoe, a threaded lens for UV filters, and slow motion (if you want a fun bonus). Hard to believe it's from Casio. The problem is the price.
The sound is not from lenses but from zoom button... if you move it too hard it will be heard, you can however hear the noise of lens zooming if zooming too fast...
no it does it on mine too .. and I am on a broadband connection ... it may be possible that the digital zoom was turned on and that it may not happen with it turned off... I sure hope not cause I'm thing seriously about getting one too !

So the critics are right: You hear the zoom on your vids...
I had to choose between SX 1 and Lumix FZ 28.
The Canon is a great cam - but I purchased the FZ 28.

i think its the sound of the lense... So like Panasonic Lumix DMC this too can film a video while zooming out or in.. Please correct if im wrong...

You are lucky, here in the US, we can only get the SX10, not SX1.
If we want the CMOS and HD we have to order it from Ebay and hope the seller doesn't walk away with our $650USD. haha
