I am an Australian, with a white European background, and I have always marveled at the resilience and tenacity of our indigenous brothers, in their plight for equality, harmony and reconciliation.
Be proud and strong my indigenous brothers, for the people of this great nation will forever hold you within their hearts, as much as you hold the heart of this nation within your hearts.
Technically, yirdaki is the correct term for what Dharrapuy uses as he is of the Gupapuyngu clan. Wuyimbarl is more typically used by Djinang- and Ganalbingu-speaking people. Artist-in-residence is self-described.
