  • very interesting

  • Haha, great commercial with good sense of humour. I still have my Voodoo 2 installed in my old win 98-machine. =) Back then this was freakin' magic, and still is cuz it looks fantastic.

  • I remember when this commercial came out. Still makes me laugh.

  • vidya games

  • i still have my voodoo2 12meg in the original box with the disk every one thinks a $300 card today is to expensive what about paying $800 for bad ass graphic 14 years ago $200 for a dimond viper fire-gl 4meg and $300 each for 2 voodoo2 12meg to run in 3d monster mode and yes tri sli 14 years ago for $800

  • If that chip can save lives, I wonder if the Nvidia GTX 590 can cure cancer worldwide. It sucks that people use chips like that for selfish purposes, like beating up some non-existant Nazi Zombies and North Koreans.

  • @RkivUnderground Or maybe you should use some commonsense, this is a goddam commercial and this is all made up shits to sell their products.

Besides a GTX590 is a CONSUMER level product, the supercomputer located in a cancer research facility will be using a 10 thousand bucks nvidia tesla gpu that obviously cost more then a gtx590.

GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU TYPE ANOTHER STUPID COMMENT!

  • @TheStuffyBear I was only JOKING. The only person taking shit seriously is you. Shut up and enjoy the awesomeness of the Voodoo!

  • @RkivUnderground The GTX 590 causes cancer =\ Too much heat and radiation, not as bad as the 400 series though.

  • Can that chip cure cancer :D

  • Those were the days. Playing Dark Forces 2 over dialup on my awesome Pentium 2 with a Voodoo3 2000 PCI card. :) I loved that card.

  • 3dfx got pwned by Nvidia like little bitches.

  • just bought 4 Voodoo3 3000s

  • hehe epic commercial

    damn I miss old days

  • oh... i miss 3dfx..... i'll celebrate this all soul's day their death....

  • we need more commercials like this!

  • 3Dfx no 1 fuck nvidia

  • And now NVIDIA is actually using their chips to boost scientific discoveries (read up on GPGPUs and Fermi). Oh, the irony...

  • Just realised, thats only 100GFLOPS. Modern day cards can be upto 45 times faster than that!

  • @Nvidiaguides They overexaggerated their own chip. It was capable of only 1MFLOP. amazing for the time, but modern cards are 1000's of times faster, not 45 times faster.

  • @Britishdude1

But we have like 4 or 16 chips on per card.

  • @hateWinVista erm. no. We have in 99% of the cases 1 chip per card. There are dual gpu cards like the GTX 295, HD 5970, 9800GX2, HD 4870X2 etc, but those only have two chips.

  • wow, I guess this is a good way as any to pre-program people to accept the brain chip. clever predictive programming

  • 3dFX pretty much was ripped off by Nvidia. They even stole the idea for SLI from 3DFX

  • @bottle2lip

actually, nvidia bought 3dfx and all the technology.

By the way the team of former 3dfx workers was working on geforce 5 series. That is one of the reasons it was called Geforce FX series. Still think nvidia is evil?

  • I watched this video using my Dosbox with a 3dFX 5500!

  • no one was touching voodoo back then. Then they released voodoo2.. 3x more faster and the option of SLI. That was a kick in the balls for nVidia, ATi, Rendition, S3, matrox etc.

You wont see those leaps nowadays..

  • best commercial ever!!

  • damn nvidia, they killed 3dfx :(

lolz and I have a old laptop from 2000 that has one built in!!:D

  • Hey! That this for Games! 0:40 Barrel Roll !!

    Ragghhh!!

  • Lol I still have a 3dfx in one of my old machines. I think it's a voodoo 2... hard to remember now.

  • wow thats some nice video card. can its keep up with my HD3870 in crysis on very high setup

  • 3dfx and Glide forever

  • Good times.

  • This commercial is AWESOME!!! xD

"... but then we tought: Hey let´s us it for games..."

I laughed my ass off :D

too bad we didn´t have these commercials in Germany back then.

...poor old guy falling in his birthday cake :P

My Diamond Monster 3D I 4 MB EDO Ram was my best hardware ever purchased! It was absolutely worth the money like no other hardware :)

Thank you 3dfx for these great times!!

  • I can't believe they still make REAL commercials like this...with dumbasses staring into the camera with a vacant expression.

  • 3dfx, the grandfather of the GPU

  • dude! my dad used to work there! then he worked for Nvidia.

  • my god riDDimann you're such a dumb ass. 3DFX invented the system for multiple cards way (they didn't call it SLI just like they didn't call their cards geforces) before anyone else as well as FSAA and their own API GLIDE which ran things better than Direct FagX. You're a total n00b gamer--wtf do you play, WoW? BTW, I had a Voodoo 5 and it kicked everything's ass for 3 years.

  • Best ad ever.

  • they fucked themselves pretty bad

  • i remember this one XD hahaahah poor old grandpa

    3dfx was great!

  • LOL

    nice

    very creative this commercial xD

  • LOL I remember this commercial, Still one of the best ones

  • haha :D funny

  • que bueeen comercial jaja, esos recuerdos 3dfx era lo mejor en ese tiempo para mi

  • haahahahha love that

  • actually u have no idea what ur talking about martinchir... who do you think invented SLI ? NOT nvidia. if they hadnt aquired the technology 3dfx was working on, they woulda easily been defeated by ATI

  • Scan Line Interleave by 3DFx has nothing to do with the Scalable Link Interface by Nvidia. The only thing they have in common is the acronym SLI, which they chose for marketing reasons, such as making the fanboys all nostalgic.

"Boi, SLI is back?! Me feel like it's '99 again"

  • @MartinChir

Nvidia never made anti aliasing, filtering, SLI, nvidia only bought 3dfx and all their technology.

  • This is simply the best commercial I have ever seen!

  • Oh shit! Turok 2 at the end! I love that game!

  • xD

    best commercial ever!

  • hahahha!!!!

  • without 3DFx. we wouldnt have SLi and Crossfire

  • Whe wouldnt have 3D Animations, AntiAliasing and Anisotropic Filter technologies.

  • I remember the days i was playing Moto Racer 1 on my Pentium 200mhz with Matrox Mystiqe 220 connected to a Miro Hiscore Voodoo1 card with tv-out(s-video) and 6mb of ram instead of 4mb. There where the days

  • MUAXAXAXAXAXAXA! SOOOO FUNNY!

  • This is the best fucking commercial

  • 3dfxs technologie lives in nvidia gfxs

  • Nvidia has been proved very good in making millions out of the 3dfx inventions!

  • when voodooz ruled the world... those were the times :-<. i'm getting to old :((:((

  • @kloo666 Still have my Voodoo 3000 in my retro pc gaming machine!

  • hehe i remember playing need for speed 2 with monster 3d xD

  • R.I.P

  • i remember my voodoo card

  • I loved my 3DFX card! It whooped everyones ass in the GPU market...then all of a sudden *POOF* they go outta business... it's sad really.

  • it's not sad..it's a disaster..:((..the best cards that ever existed..:-<..but..let's remember the good things from 3dfx..like this comercial :)) it kick's ass :))"that game is kind'a violent for me" :))..still..ain't so funny as it would have been..if..3dfx's were in a store right now..

  • Yeah seriously, If they were still kicking ass to this day they would exceed whatever ATi or Geforce would throw at them, Anyone would be a proud owner of that delicious card, Edible if you like the taste of silicon...

  • Yeah, however most of the cats that went down with the 3dfx company got picked up by Nvidia... so it just goes to show you why Nvidia has had a leg up in the GPU market. I'm sure there's a little 3dfx tech in the 8800GT.

  • They worked mainly on the FX series however...

  • @p1zl3

3dfx took too damn long developing their next generation graphics cards based on the Rampage architecture. nVidia killed them because they had short product cycles that ensured that new products and updates of old products kept flowing out on a regular basis. 3dfx would scrap old designs instead of moving them down market and create entirely new ones then make variants for different market segments. This took too much time, wasn't cost effective and it bit them in the ass later.

  • @p1zl3

You own a building right? You collect $ 38,000 thousand a year. Plus repair and maintenace expensis making you have far less income. Half maybe.

Now it's worth $650,000 the building I mean.

They offer you a million almost double it's worth, so you say hey how many years do i have to wait to make that money 25 years or more i'll be dead by then, So you take it now and enjoy life and have n0 more problems.

Nvidia gave them and idea; they could not refuse.

  • HAHAHA this video is really awesome, I didn´t know there was someting like that haha very funny, I still love these old times..

  • maaaaaaaaaan ... this makes me remember my historical highquality 3dfx card voodoo 2 ..

    damn the technology !!

  • Hilarious - RIP 3dfx :(

  • loved when it first came out...the monster 3d

  • ang tagal!!!.

  • lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!:D awesome

  • I'm still waiting for that Voodoo 6 crad...

  • Me 2 10 yearws in the making and finally we have an nvidia 512mb card wtf took nvidia so long the ground work was alreayd there, sli was already there, milking the cow i guess.

  • They made about 50 Voodoo 6 cards. You might occasionally see one pop up on ebay for a few thousand dollars. HUGE collector's items.

  • 3dfx ftw

  • 3Dfx had the best old school video cards...

  • Haha :D

  • :D funny^^

  • Best humorous commercial ever! Too bad 3dfx went under shortly after it aired. :)

  • hahah great

  • hahah funny!

  • One of the funniest ads
