  • Okay wtf i find this video on the side bar of a video about weed.. this isnt about weed.. WTF youtube! Fuck this

  • Awww your little kid in the background. :) Cute.

  • Can you carve the resin after it has hardened?

  • Nice tutorial.

  • where can i buy the mold putty and the resin from....?? I have tried on all the websites but they do not ship it in my country...I live in saudi arabia...plz reply sooon...

  • Is the clear resin the same as the white resin? I also use Silicone Mold Putty, not amazing mold putty. How do you get the molds out of a regular store bought mold?

  • i have a question, i don't have amazing mold putty but i use Easy Mold silicone putty, ithikns its teh same thing its just purple and white and its by castin'craft, now i have Easy Cast Clear Casting Epoxy would that woud in my molds or would i have to use some kind of releaser on the molds and what would u recomend to colour the epoxy with if i cant get my hands on the special dyes for it?

  • you should make a tiny snow cone out of polymer clay

  • This shit has nothing to do with what I thought, lawl.

  • do you think crayola magic clay can also be used for making molds in resin casting? Im trying to make thick bangles but to fit the size of my wrist and i was thinking of making the bangle out of clay first, put it in a mold, remove the clay bracelet and use resin in the mold to make a resin version of the clay bracelet.

  • why dont you do this when your kids are in bed !! its so annoying

  • I was so high couldn't stop watching

  • thumbs up if you thought this was going to be a weed resin video......

  • Your pan is full : )

You should modify the mold so you can put stuff in the pan.

  • @boeingnz when making the mold put it in so the back is up not the front since the back is flat. That will make it so you can put stuff in it

  • Omg I love stuff like this. Here in Chicago there a museum called the science and industry and there's this little castle that has like some little princess things and in the castle there little things like how u made it's so beautiful I always just want to take it it's so detailed and has the outside which is detailed omg I love it

  • can u make the color of the resin different by mixing in some sort of dye or something?

i don't do the best paint jobs :P

  • @xTheAnimalsx Yes, they sell dyes for it. Never used them though.

  • @GardenOfImagination

    oh wow thats really helpful!

Can i get all of these supplys at a Jo-anns or michaels crafts?

I make handmade hairbows and need some embellishments :P

  • ok, so thats how you make a resin copy. what if you want to make an original resin sculpture? how do you make the sculpture to place in the mold?

  • @mrostos That's pretty much what all the rest of my videos teach. You have to hand sculpt the item.

  • @GardenOfImagination What do you use to hand sculp the item? I have experience with sculpy but I feel like there has to be a better option for sculpting.

  • @mrostos I use polymer clay. Premo is my favorite. Check my videos for clay types and characteristics.

  • do you have to have both of the mold things

  • @bevbrown64 yes

  • @GardenOfImagination sorry the amazing mold putty do you need the other one or just the one with the baby on it?

  • @bevbrown64 You need the Amazing Mold Putty for the mold and the resin to fill the mold.

  • Hey I have seen people make resin jewelry that is clear

how do they make jewelry clear?

  • @ducttapecreates Some resin dries perfectly clear. Check hobby lobby by the fake plants and they have clear resin "water" to pour in vases.

  • Just curious. Is it you making the sound effects when you zoom in and out on you're camera?

  • @emmo723 That would be me. lol

  • Nice vid, thanks for sharing. Where can one buy the amazing mold putty, and what is the price? Are you still using the amazing mold putty, or is there any thing newer on the market thats better/cheaper?

  • @knowledgeispowerfful Hobby Lobby $15 USD

  • how much is the resin?

  • @youdarlene505 Around $15 USD.

  • Teehee.. you remind me of Sandra Bullock. Like the hair, except you have glasses. :)

  • @talyor098123 Thanks!

  • can i made the mold into a cup mold??

  • @cinderella468 Oh girl... save yourself the headache and cut off the tip of those crayola crayons that spin up... what are they called? AHH HA! (I had to got look) They are called Crayola Twistables. Well, the back end is clear and pretty. Slice it off and you have what looks to be a very fine glass. Watch the slurpie video to see the cup. And no, I've never been able to make a cup with a mold. At least, not a good one. Sorry.

  • @cinderella468 Are you talking about making a mold out of a cup and then pouring resin into the mold to make a cup you can dink out of? Just in case you were, remember resin is NOT food safe so don't use it to make plates or silverware that sort of thing. :)

  • Hi!

So I was wondering- do you know of any resin that dries clear? And also, Could you do a tutorial on how to make a bowl out of resin?

    Thanks!

  • @malopinny Yes, look in the fake plant section at walmart or hobby lobby and you'll find a fake water resin that dries clear.

  • @malopinny Hi! Just thought I'd let you know that resin isn't food safe. Things like hard candy might be fine, but I wouldn't make a bowl that you intend to serve out of.

  • @GoodHank321 LOL! I ment a miniature bowl :D

  • Hi I was wondering If I could make a 28mm Game Miniature with something like this?

  • I would like to make a 28mm Game Miniature could I use this technique to do that?.

  • I love your tutorials! Listening to the happy noises in the background reminds me of my two brothers and I making crafts with my mother when we were young back in the '70's :-)

  • Great vid! I am showing this to my friend, who just started in resin jewelry.

  • I has an idea!! for the impression(or dent) you can put some of the putty on the back of the pan but make i smaller, then lt it dry, then when you make it, put the back of the pan mold on top!

  • this is realy good im 12 and i was thinking of using this idea for making a coy of a lego helmet (clone) do you think it would work

  • @georgejelfs67 Probably. I've never tried it, but it would most likely work.

  • I'm trying to make a mold for a wearable face mask, do you think its silly to try and cast that in resin? I thought it might be something difficult but really unique.

  • @Labyrinth103106 That's a bit on a large scale for me. It would be expensive to make it this way as you would need multiple packages of the mold maker material and a lot of resin.

  • @Labyrinth103106 Hi! Don't know if you got an answer but I suppose you could although a face mask made out of resin might be kind of heavy. If you wanted to make a mold of an existing face skip the the kind of mold making material above and using something like OOMOO. It's a one to one measuring ratio and it's what I use when I need to cast bigger projects. Also, I don't know how breathable resin would be when covering your whole face; might get kind of sweaty. GL!

  • that is awesome thanks

  • can you use the mold with any resin mix brand or does it have to be the same as the amazing mold brand

  • @Quinta2001 any brand will work.

  • hello there. i'd like to know what do you call the type of clay that hardens almost like a silicone mold for resin?

  • It's called "Amazing Mold Putty". It's not really a clay, but is sold next to the polymer clay at Hobby Lobby.

  • Thank you.

  • aha 5:11 is funnyy.great job thouh:)

  • Just a passing off-topic observation: I read the comment from 180Patrick360, simply stating ''I like hearing your children'' (which could indeed be heard in the background). This COMPLIMENT caused a flood of thumbs downs. WHY? If it was 180PATRICIA360 would that make a difference? Are ''concerned'' parents so insanely paranoid now that they cannot see that not EVERY MALE whom enjoys the sights and sounds of happy children is NOT a pedophile waiting to pounce on their precious offspring?

  • P.S. Many men also enjoy making miniatures and other handicrafts.............Does that make them GAY as well?

  • God bless the workin mom with a hobby!

  • I like hearing your children. :)

  • where can u find the mold putty? i wanna make some :D and fill it with expoxy resin to make jello

  • Hobby Lobby.

  • darn it!. Hobby lobby is wayyyyy far away from me

  • You can buy it online at craftsetc com It's Hobby Lobby's online store.

  • thank u soooo much ur da best :D. Now if i can convince my parents to buy online..... any whys thanx!

  • i love it

  • Are the things you ake on ebay anywhere?? thanks

  • Great job!

  • i just got a great idea!!!! you know how NO ONE can make silverware? well, all you need to do is, make a mold by using a fork or spoon or whatever, and then fill it up will resin and paint it!!! viola!

  • I've tried this and you think it would be easy... but it doesn't work for me.

  • o well!

  • I have been making moulds for years using plaster of paris but this is the first time i've seen resin mould making.. thanks for the video... hope i can learn more about resin mould making...

  • too bad, they not sell it in indonesia

what product can I use to subsitute the mold and cast

can I use Sillicone rubber n Resin

  • I don't know. This is the only kind I've used. Sorry.

  • Your videos are so nice..thanks for sharing your talents with Us...Thank You

  • You are more than welcome!

  • Ever try using a dremel to make the contours?

  • No, but I sure like that idea!

  • is the putty flexible like the jello mold

  • Yes!

  • Nice demo. I liked it. The edge of the pan could have been trimmed before painting using a precision knife.

  • Thank you!

  • yey i found it ^.^

    how much did dat cost?

  • A little less than $15 at Hobby Lobby.

    Angela

  • Darn it... I thought this was for Warhammer -MINIs- I'm itching to figure out how the master moulds for those things are made.

Coz liek... I need to make a hell of a lotta monsters for my D&D campaigns~~!!!

  • Sorry. Wish I was better at making things from molds.

    Angela

  • Oh noes... I didn't mean it like that : P Your tute was one thing that led to another, and I actually found what I was looking for, incidentally, thanks to your tute : )

Everyone's got their own special way of doing things... you don't need to be an expert to inspire people. ; )

  • Thank you. I'm glad you found what you were looking for.

    Angela

  • Can you please share where did you find making master moulds? I need to find it too. Hope you'd help. Thanks btw..

  • ohhhhhhhh ok shhhh..........

  • can u show your face once?

  • Nope. It's a secret.

    Angela

  • This will work very nicely for me and my need for sand bags! Thank you.

  • Sand bags? What do you use those for? Are you making these for a dollhouse?

    Angela

  • Um, no. I play table top games and need sand bags for defensive lines.

  • lolololololol.

  • this is the FIRSt vid i have watched about resin casting AND WOW i didnt know it was SO easy to get the stuff and make moulds! Im SO looking farward to getting started!

  • Thanks. I just don't know how to do a two part mold... but it's easy for a mold with a flat back. Have fun with your resin!

    Angela

  • very good - as far as the depression - could you glue like a small wooden wooden disk into the mold? You would probably have to use mold spray or Pam so that the resin wouldn't stick to the piece but it might work.

You might also use another bit of moldmaking material. You could ball it up and stick it in the original mold to make the depression - don't know if it would come out even, though.

  • I've never tried to mold wood. Maybe I'll try sometime.

    Angela

  • Hmmm.

I saw this when searching for ways to do warhammer 40'000 minis (i intend to sculpt something and copy the model in resin, so i don't have to sculpt tons of models out of putty, just one)

Anyway, as a wargamer who is used to painting and modeling i think that you should have trimmed the top of the copy down as you got a ugly mold line there.

I think this vid was informative though and it seems that i only need to find that resin and a fitting mold material for my work.

  • Thank you. And you are very right! The mold I made was terrible, but it did teach how to use that mold stuff. lol.

What you make sounds so difficult and amazing! I'd love to see your work. If you ever upload your miniatures to youtube, please let me know!

    Angela

  • yeah this came up for me as well im looking to make a mold i can use so i can maek a hole bunch of warhammer 40 000 space marines and orcs

  • This should work for that.

    Angela

  • it should work yeah, pity its illegal...

  • You know that straight copies of warhammer minis is illegal, i think i will only do a weapon in this way.

So i don't have to make 20 weapons out of 5 parts each and instead just have 1 weapon bit.

  • Does that mold material dry like rubber?

  • Yes.

  • im 12 and it is so cool i think it would be fun to do for summer my mom likes to do vrafts so it would be fun.( to help with keeping molds orginzeed u should ge one of those white things with droars and u can lable hem and all that) sorry if i miss spell stupid pc but any way thanks fir the ideas (i can tell that was proabley ur daughter in the backround)

  • I hope you have lots of fun with your mom! And don't worry about the spelling. If you don't try... you'll never learn!

    Angela

  • that was really cool. it makes me want to make something. :D

  • Beware- once you start mold making, you'll end up with tons of little molds and a messy house because you'll just be having too much fun to stop.
