  • Still Miss Harry every Phillies game. I used to fall asleep to his voice everyday when I was younger on the radio. He was comerting and I was so happy to have met him in Pittsburgh as he was leaving the Stadium. I heard him before I saw him and I frooze. I went up to him and told him how much what he did meant to me as a kid and as an adult. Miss his voice especially on the special moments.

  • I will always remember Harry, he was the only voice I heard growing up listening to Phillies baseball. Harry, you will always be missed

  • at least he could see the phillies win the world series before he passed

  • Did anyone notice that lidge started playin shitty after our beloved hk passed? :(

  • my friend is was really good friends with harry believe it or not, and he called harry one day from my phone and didnt answer but we left him a message hoping he would call back, my friend went home a short time later and my phone rang, but i wasn't around to answer it, that was my chance to speak to harry the K, ill never live that down

  • Hahahahaha

  • Simply, the man narrated the soundtrack of my childhood. I miss him...

  • amen!

  • Actually, on the day Rich Ashburn died, the other Phillies announcers decided not to work the game that night at Shea Stadium, and Kent Tekulve had the difficult task of flying solo that night, which he did, graciously and solemnly.

  • gives me goosebumps...everytime

  • i miss him..

  • @jacksonhootie unfortunately.....you dont get it, regardless of what team you root for.

  • High. hopes baby!!!

  • WE LOVED U HARRY!!!

  • @jordanrox215 we still do..

  • @jordanrox215 we still love harry

  • God blessed Harry in that he was passed doing what Harry loved to do. Cannot believe it's been two years.

  • RIP Harry!

  • 2 dislikes how?

  • Can't believe its been 2 years

  • i jjust realized im watching this on the day he died i feel like im about to cry

  • I rememberd coming home from Work whe I heard Harry Kalas Passd away. As a Phillies Fan like I am. It was like coming home and hearing that President Kennedy was shot. That was a sad day :( Rest in Peace Harry K

  • Whatever 2 disrespectful assholes disliked this video should both go to hell. Honestly fuck you both. How dare you insult the legend who was Harry the K. He will always be remembered. RIP HK always in our hearts

  • He died on my birthday :o

In a way I'm honored he was a legend!

    4/13/09 -3

  • Harry K was a great voice and a wonderful and generous man. However, anybody who is full of infidelity and cheating can NEVER be considered a great human being. I loved Harry but don't consider him a man who made good personal nor marital decisions. It's in fact a rather sick character trait to cheat on your wife and multiple times to boot!

  • I'll never forget hearing about his death. I was watching 6 abc in Philly when Jim Gardner came on and said he died. My mom and I who were both watching the TV at the time and we both screamed. We were both devestated. Little did I know that eighteen months later almost to the day I would lose my 60 year old mother just as suddenly as we lost Harry. May they both RIP. Thank you Mom and Harry you both made me love the Phillies!

  • Its coming up on two years, yet it still hard to listen to games without hearing his voice ! Thank you Harry !!! We will forever love and miss you !!!

  • Everyone will remember where he was the day harry left us.

  • Harry you will see again the Phillies win the WS in 2011! And you'll be checking out Werth in DC with even a better view than u had in the National's booth. God's speed...

  • This was an extremely SAD SAD day in Philly

  • Would like to thank the Yankees fans for their comments it shows class. On the field we want our team to win. But off the field we respect each others team. I wanted the Phillies to play the Yankees, because they're the best team in history. And you always want to beat the best. I hope this year they meet again, and THIS time the Phillies will win!

  • @MrJoeybaby2010 It is a loss to all of us, we loved harry and many others, it feels like yesterday.

  • I cried when I heard the news

  • @MrEamon1994 Me too i was shocked

  • This day broke my heart, such a tough TOUGH loss!

  • i swear i would give ANYTHING IN MY LIFE to hear harry kalas call roy halladays perfect game and no hitter this season. i know for a fact harry the k would be halladays biggest fan. rest in peace harry you will always hold a place in my heart

  • How can even 2 people dislike this, And I am speaking as a Yankee fan

  • Of the videos I've seen of Harry, this is by far, the best & most heartfelt, though tearing Harry make the last call that led us to the WS '08. Gone forever from sportscasting, but never in our hearts. Forever the voice of the Phillies~Harry Kalas. Philly lost a true genuine gem, someone whose passion for the love of the game surpassed just about everything other than his own family. Miss you soo very much, Harry. The games called in Philly HAVE & NEVER will be the same since you & Whitey.

  • Out of all of the videos I have seen of Harry, this is by far, the best & most heartfelt, though the topper to completion would have been hearing Harry make the last call that led us to the WS '08. TY so very much for sharing this~I'm thankful I was able to stumble across this. Gone forever from sportscasting's future, but NEVER gone or lost in our ♥s. Forever the voice of the Phila. Phillies~Harry Kalas. Philly lost a true genuine gem.

  • I always loved Harry.....and this is coming from a Mets fan born in Brooklyn!

  • A sad day for Philadelpiha fans everywhere

  • I was actually testing some audio equipment at work using my XM receiver tuned to the Twins game when the broadcasters mentioned the passing of Harry Kalas. I immediately tuned in the Nats game and they had the Philly feed on, which is unusual in itself because XM airs the home team's broadcast. Scott Frantzke was having great difficulty closing out the broadcast at the end when he mentioned Harry's name. It choked me up.

I always tried to tune in Harry's inning of the Phillies game. R.I.P.

  • I'm from Pa, not a phillies fan, but a cubs fan, and yet i always loved listening to the call by harry, I still miss him and his odd sense of humor in the booth, and greatly appreciated what he did not only for the phillies, but for the NFL network, when harry made the call you were always entertained. RIP Harry, I can't believe it's been this long since you passed...

  • harry kalas may be gone but his memory will live on forever.

  • im proud philly had the greatest annoucer of all time

  • @botzaro00 oh my god will people EVER STOP saying that. of course he rooted for them, he was the announcer FOR THEM. if he was a national broadcaster then yea i get your point, but no he was the phillies announcer, he's allowed to root for them. listen to ANY other teams' broadcasters around mlb. SAME DEAL

  • It was like losing a relative.

    It still hurts.

  • Franzke's comments were so poignant at the start of the broadcast. Andersen's comments are so sincere also. I hate to say it, but I was watching on TV and saw McCarthy's open, and although I hate to say it, I must admit that I didn't feel that he was particularly broken up about the loss of Harry. Indeed, he seemed to be excited about his increased role on the broadcast team....which is sad for him.

  • Scott Franske and Larry Andersen's broadcast is exactly what I wanted to listen to that day. I felt just like they did. Such a sad loss, even 1 year later.

  • yo BRAWLFAN..... FUCK YOU harry kalas was probably if not the most greatest anouncers in the history of sports harry made the games intresting and fun to watch hearing his last homerun call is hard so u fag brawlfan grow a dick and this vin scully guy can suck one to u fag

  • I was listening to the game when I heard! Still listening to this makes me teary! We miss you Harry!

  • to bad the dodgers have a better announcer.......vin scully

  • @brawlfans34

It's a shame you happen to be wrong.

  • @eag536 its a shame you think that

  • @brawlfans34 It's a shame to be right about that. But, that's just the way it is.

  • @eag536 yeah wrong

  • @brawlfans34 Hey, you are free to think whatever you wish. Even if it is incorrect, as is the case here.

  • @eag536 the case your thinking of course its wrong but you still get to think he is better

  • @brawlfans34 Because, well, he is. Have heard both Kalas and Scully. Kalas was, is, and will always be better. But hey, you get to enjoy one of the best for another 120+ games.

  • @eag536 scully will be the best and stays the best

  • @brawlfans34 Except he isn't. But whatever.

  • @eag536 harry is great but vin is greater

  • watching the phillies on t.v will never be the same, R.I.P

  • I don't know how they did without completely breaking down. I remember my dad telling me. . . I walked around my block in such a daze. I couldn't believe it.

  • We still miss you Harry.

  • One of those you remember exactly where you were when you heard of HK's death.

Many of us never met him yet we felt like he was (is) a part of our family.

    RIP-HK

...and what a HORRIBLE place to run that commercial just as we were waiting to hear HK's final out call, WPHT genius plays that silly commercial....sorta a bit of comic relief but not intended that way.

  • always my idol, always my hero God Bless You Harry Kalas

  • RIP Harry Kalas. You were my ALL-TIME favorite announcer.

  • RIP Harry Kalas. You were my ALL-TIME favorite announcer.

  • still makes me cry....luv ya haryy!

  • Now were left with sarge, wheeler, and Murphy...ugh!! Can't the Phillies find someone better than those three?

  • FRANZKE AND ANDERSEN NEED TO GO TO T.V.

  • @PhillyFlyGuys Who is Murphy?

  • i remember listening 2 this in my truck and the pain in Franzke and L.A.'s voice made me sick. He got 2 get his ring a few days before. All the philly fan haters have no idea what we are all about but he was the best there ever was and generations of Phillies fans cherish his memories FOREVER!!! R.I.P. HK

  • Listening to this video reminds me of my grandfather and that today would have been his ninety sixth birthday. he was a tried and true phillies fan up until his final day and would have loved to see the phillies world series run. Listening to this reminds me that this will be the first spring training without the great harry the k.

RIP Harry- there will never be another one like you

  • I was in my car between clients listening to this. I cried when I heard LA.

Here in Philly, which I don't give a shit what anyone says, the fans are loyal and loving as hell.

If someone accomplishes something in this city, shows genuine love for fans, or truly leaves it ALL on the field, they will always have the utmost respect.

The ovation B-Dawk got when he returned is a perfect example. We are not so bad. Those bastards at ESPN stereotype all of us for the acts of a few idiots.

  • @phightinphillies You couldnt have said it better, my dude. I loved Harry, still tear up even thinking about it and its like losing part of my childhood. We (Philly fans) love like family!! Our boos are to push players to do better and true great players appreciate it. If you give all out effort, win or lose, you'll WILL NOT get booed!!! That's it. ...straight and to the point. The best, most passionate fans anywhere AND PROUD OF IT!! PHILLY STAND UP!!

  • @phightinphillies Even though Im a Mets fan I know how you feel about ESPN generalizing you guys. Example: I go to West Virginia University. Last year we had some trouble with fan behavior at basketball games. To see ESPN try to blow stories out of proportion and portray our fanbase as a bunch of no class hillbillies made me mad. WVU has one of the most awesome faithful fanbases in the country. But 99 percent of us stay classy. And I know its the same way with Phili fans

  • I wished the Phillies had won the World Series in the 2009 season in memory of Harry Kalas. However, he did see the Phillies win the 2008 World Series.

  • This Upcomeing spring Trainging is going to be the 1st with out Harry =-( Rip Harry.

  • HK was the greatest. Props to the rest of the Phils broadcast crew for stepping up and doing a great job, but HK is irreplaceable. He was the best.

  • The voice of the Fightins damn i miss him!!!! RIP Harry!!!

  • awesome video made me cry like a baby harry k will be missed always

  • the announcers did a wonderful job remembering a great man on a day when a whole city mourned. RIP Harry K. you will never be forgotten

  • my sister predicted his death :( i miss him SOOO much it was a weird World Series without him probably why we losttt

  • Scott Franzke is great.

  • How did u get the pre-game audio?

  • i remember crying that day

    RIP Harry

  • i cried too. many of us did.

  • @wotsup21

I cried just from listening to this audio; 9 months later. I'll never get over it. Harry was baseball in Philadelphia for the duration of my 33 years on this planet.

  • sad

  • LETS GO PHILS!!!!! this one is for harry.....we love u and we miss u!!!! watch over us and guide us to another world championship<33333harry<3333

  • we have to win this year for HK.

  • everyone in Philadelphia did such a good job at remembering Harry and dealing with the shock on the day of and knowing that the show must go on. We miss him so much, its just no the same with out him... Last year was for the city of Philadelphia, this year is for Harry Kalas. HIGH HOPES! we miss you Harry!

  • RIP- Harry. :)

We love you & we miss you at the stadium , Wish you were here to see this Repeat! Its all for you! WE LOVE U! <3

  • Scott Franzke is the epitome of class. Thank you, and LA, for a great tribute at what was a difficult time.

  • Speaking for someone born in 1984, before this year I've never knew what it was like to hear a baseball game game called by anyone else but Harry the K, and as good as a job as scott, wheels, L.A., and gary did, its still weird not hearing his voice.

  • RIP Harry. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Harry you knew that he was a great human being that loved the fans and never regarded himself as being better than anyone. He always had time to sign autographs for kids or chat about the Phillies. I don't think there will ever be a person who will touch so many people in the Philadelphia area they way Harry did.

  • i will always remember that voice. rest in peace harry.

  • r.i.p. Harry this one if for you

  • I am happy to have heard Harry call out "THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS OF BASEBALL" he was one in a million, surely will be missed

  • im a cardinal fan..a fan of baseball and i loved his calls..thanks hk...rip we all miss you....

  • I'm from Philadelphia & Mr. Kalas was like an old friend who took you by the hand & led you through the game. RIP, Harry...

  • Baseball is so boring now without him...it's so sad. I'm born and raised in Philly and he was like everybody's grandpa or uncle and you could hear his voice coming from everybody's house. He's shining down on the Phils...hope they do it again this year...DO IT FOR HARRY!!! Last night's game was incredible...11-0!!!

  • its not the same

  • We're trying to repeat for you, Harry!

  • Correction: We're GOING to repeat for you, Harry! Yuck the Fankees! Let's show those cheaters what a real baseball team is! You can't buy heart! Go Phils!

  • @MrsCleaversBeaver ooops you guys lost. but i respect the phillies so i'm not rubbing anything in. but, we are not cheaters at all. arod took steroids EIGHT years ago before he was a yankee. so we don't cheat in any way

  • i could never express my feelings about the baseball game wit harry he was the man

  • this shocking and crying video aired video on youtube on april 14 2009 he died on 13 of april of this years it is a very painful crying news of all...

  • this is very crying news of all in may 2009 harry kalas the baseball brodcaster died at age 72 in washigton booth...

  • He died April 13, 2009 not May, at least get it right.

  • i wish harry could be here to see us win our 3rd straight title....

  • R.I.P HK we'll always miss you

wtf is with the commercial at the end.......

  • even though I like all new york teams and Philadelphia teams have been rivals for years. This guy was a class act. One of, if not, the best baseball announcers of all times. Did a fine job with NFL films too!

  • man hopefully we win the ws for u harry, ur the man we will miss u so much man, ur voice was and still is golden man it will always be hard to let u go

  • HARRY KALAS , you ARE the man !!!!!!!!! you will forever be missed . It has been 3 months since he has passed and i still watch the Phillies and wait to hear his voice !! it will be a while to get over his death !

  • do you have the pregame on TV?

  • Being a Phillies fan all my life, there wasn't a game that Harry Kalas didn't call. I was shocked in hearing of his death on that day. I miss hearing his calls so much. Last Saturday the Phils rallied back to beat the Pirates with 5 runs in the 9th inning. I can only imagine how he would have called that game. Never will I forget April 13. Just minutes after leaving my grandfather's funeral, I hear about Harry. We will forever miss you, Harry.

  • I hadn't listened to this broadcast since the day it was posted back in April. It once again brought me to tears hearing the anguish and tears in Scott and L.A. as they talked about their good friend. Wouldn't it have been exciting to hear Harry's call of last night's 22 run outburst? So sad. I hope the Phils' decide to continue playing Harry's "Outta Here" call after each Phillies HR past this season. It makes it feel like summer at the ballpark.

  • harry is the man

  • Harry Kalas is and always will be the Phillies announcer. He's the one who called the World Series winners 2 times. Im sure that all Phillies fans (Me) and Phillies players in present and past times are very Glad that it was him as much as i am. My dad does the best impression of him so i just will have to do with that, it still reminds me of him everytime they play.

  • April 13th was my birthday. It was a wednesday, my dad took my from school to my uncles house to work out. My dad and I were sitting in his jeep at my uncles waiting for him to come. it was like 3:00. I thought that there was a philles game coming on 1210. I was lessing to the same thing. Me being 13 I thought it was a joke I said dad do you hear this. I couldn't belive on my 14th birthday Harry Kalas passed. I think it was one of the most horrible days of my life. RIP HARRY

  • April 13th was a Monday.. the Monday after Easter to be exact.

  • no one was ever greater than harry=/

    R.I.P.

  • I would like some feedback from other Fightin's Fans: Did any of you think you were tuned into the wrong channel when watching or listening to the first game after H the K's passing? 'Cause not hearing him do the announcing was a bit of a shock to the system; I honestly thought I was watching another channel on my TV broadcasting another game. It took me a moment to realize it was Wheels and McCarthy and how I would never hear HK's great calls again...

  • not even the first game. it happened a week or two later working out at the gym, walking by the TV the game was one in the around the 7th or 8th inning. looked up to check the score and see what was going on. and thought something sounded diffrent and said "hmm wheres harry" and then a somber reality set in that i would never get to hear harry make a call again. thank you for your passion and dedication harry

  • im a cubs fan and this still touched me

  • same here it is sad and i hate the phills cus im a cubs fan but he sounded good ):

  • the only sound i knew in summer. we will never forget, HK RIP, YOU ARE THE MAN, and you will NEVER be outta here

  • I will miss Harry with everything that is me as a Phillies fan. Baseball will never be the same.

  • I grew up In south jersey (Mays Landing, NJ), I grew up listening to harry Kalas...I dont know if I cant watch a game with out hearing Harry....RIP Brotha....High Hopes

  • MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ANNOUNCER..RIP Harry....Hearing him again makes me home sick...and proud to be from the Delaware valley area..went to a lot of phillies games...

  • rip harry

    we miss ya!

lets win another one for harry

  • rip harry

  • Right on Voovifmonn, Botzaro00 if you said that in our town, your ass would have been beaten to death. Harry was our God and we loved and if you got nothing nice to say about him or our World Champion team don't say one damn word.

Phillies baseball will never be the same without our voice.

    RIP Harry

  • You're obviously not from Philly, botzaro00, so you don't know what he meant to us here. You try sayin' that on the streets of Philly and you probably wouldn't be walking for a while... Myself and every other Philadelphian would make sure of that.

  • your opinion is as valid as your knowledge of phillies baseball, and sports in general...it means nothing...you my friend are a grade A asshole/moron...congratulations!

  • Why are you going around saying this in every Harry tribute vid? Do you have nothing better to do?

  • botzaro00 you're an ass...you don't even realize how pathetically stupid you sound....just shut up u jackass

  • I will agree with many of you. HE WAS THE VOICE OF SUMMER. I tried watching the Phils on Comcast the other day and it just doesn't right. He is missed.

  • I must be beyond the norm, but my favorite Harry line is different than all of the others. In recent years, Wheeler would throw the game back to harry in the 7th, and Harry would simply reply: " Alright, thank you Wheels." And, to be quite honest, I haven't been able to watch a Phils game this year. I've heard " Alright thank you Wheels" or " That ball is Outtta Herrreee" for the past 20 years of my life, and I miss that, and, We all miss you Harry, thanks so much.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!! Harry truely was the soundtrack of the summer. His voice represented so much more, he will be dearly missed, R.I.P. Harry!!!

  • Dude thanks for posting this...Harry was the soundtrack of my summer.. Going down to the jersey shore id always get excited to hear harry.,. Harry thank you for everything you have done for us..you were an amazing talent and we will never forget you.. Harry the K..you are the man.. You will always be a Phillie..

  • ur a dick, name one announcer that dosnt

  • Thank You for the post. I grew up in Philly and moved away but never stopped being a Phillies fan. I was truly saddened to hear of his passing. For me, Harry Kalas didn't just announce a game, he allowed me to feel like I was there at the game, no matter where I was. From "That Ball's Outa Here!" to "Strike Three...Struck Him Out!" Harry, may you rest in peace and you will live forever in my memories and in my heart. Go Phils!

  • thanks for posting this, I missed that broadcast. And I will Always miss Harry. Thank You Harry for being the voice of the Phillies my whole life...

  • I'm traveling to Philly to watch them play tomorrow against the Brewers and I will definitley be disapointed when i see the replay of a homerun and no Harry Kalas to say "Long Drive"

  • Singular voice? Did he mean signature?

  • No he meant singular, meaning exceptionally good or great; remarkable.

  • he was awesome

R.I.P. harry we'll all miss you!

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • This is just starting to hit me, I hope it doesnt get worse as it gets warm. God Bless you Harry.

  • your a complete ass.

  • u IDIOT!...each team, in each major sport, has local announcers during the regular season. then in the playoffs, the network announcers take over. u goofy goofy ass.

  • Rest In Peace Harry. A part of me is with you. You will be missed and you will forever be loved.

  • A big part of my childhood died the day Harry died i will miss him so much!

God bless the Kalas family we love you.

  • Harry Kalas was a GREAT MAN, somehow incredibly, even greater than he was an announcer, and that is saying A WHOLE LOT. What an incredibly sad week this has been. I was at the Memorial Service today, it was very emotional. It was done with class by the Phillies, in this very difficult circumstance. You could just feel the overwhelming love for this wonderful kind-hearted man, from those who were in attendance, to honor him. RIP Harry. Phils will NEVER be the same. We miss you so much already.

  • RIP Harry!!

  • this a Mets fan who is paying respects to one of the influential voices in baseball and football voiceovers. R.I.P. to Harry Kalas who will be dearly missed. I enjoyed his calls on Phillies games even though i dont like them. It a shame that these baseball announcers are going so soon. Skip Caray, Joe Nuxhall, and now Kalas. R.I.P.

  • Glad I got to hear this, thanks. I'll always remember Harry, and all Phillies fans will miss him.

  • R.I.P Harry. You will always be cherished and remembered, especially when I watch one of the happiest moments of my life replayed forever. We spent many nights together over the years and your presence will go irreplaceable. We will do our best as Phillies fans to not be as mean as we tend to be but then again you loved us the way we were. R.I.P Harry I will miss hearing your voice. Tell Whitey we miss him too. R.I.P See you when I get there. . Peace

    C. Gamble

    The Sports Guy 101

  • Harry gave us so many great memorries

  • when the replay of the ninth inning was broadcast right after they came back from commercial and harrys voice came on there wasn't a dry eye in the house

1210' scott franzke and larry anderson did a great job that day

we will miss you harry rip

  • Sad time in philly, RIP, Harry Kalas. Wow i remember when my dad god rest his soul, use to listen to harry k on the radio in the 70s and i would sit right by him to listen also i miss that. Philadelphia has indeed lost an icon.

  • God bless Harry. I can not fathom the boys of summer without THE Voice of Summer. He and Whitey are reunited.

  • R.I.P Harry Kalas be
