I have a new system in my truck, at first it was tuned at 39hz, still peaked at 36hz, dropped the tuning to 35hz and i still peak at 36hz. I dont have a problem with that though, I love the lowz

@theamericandude Dont really understand the whole theory behind bass boost. I just know that if i set my amp correctly then i dont need it. I never clamped this amp. I clamped my AQ 3500.1 in my newer vids and got 3600 watts with a rise from .5ohm to 1.18ohms and voltage at 12.9. TL score is a 150.3db at 36hz sealed at the dash. got a new sundown 4500d comin very soon though

I know this set up is oldl but I totally respect the way those kickers were baning, that was no joke plus I think you could had given them a few more watts and who knows maybe you could have hit a few more dbs. (I think solid 3k for 4 cvrs).

@supergary420 i had 2 off those subs for almost 3 years, the other 2 for 1 1/2years. all but one of the 4in this work to this day. Ripped up the bad one and the coils are perfect. I never bottomed these out in this box, so whoever built this box (which was me) was a very smart person. Box ended up being tuned high 20's very low 30's. Had a lot of control on the subs. only problem was i couldnt play high notes. But i blame that alot on my car since it peaks so low for cars (36hz)

i have the same amp, factory HU and the same re-q installed..quick question: will my sub(s) clip if i have dual 4ohm? i think i need dual 2ohm subs for this amp, any suggestions?

@lurk925 doesnt matter what ohm versions you have. Amp puts out most power when it sees a 1ohm load. (I run mine at .5ohm daily) Clipping only occurs when you do not have the amp set right, or the song is clipped. If you are referring to the clip light on the bass knob then as long as it is not a steady red light and is only blinking intermittently then you are fine.

@07RedRider400 yea, they were doin pretty good. Put them in champion drive by box, givin to us from one of our team members, and upped the amp to the 2600 with 2300clamped watts and was doin a 147 sealed, and a 148 door open. Subs didnt liek that much power, ended up blowing them

@twista200317 800 is pushin it. sure there not gonna blow up right away but they wont last very long....plus you have to take into consideration impedance rise. Like even though i have a aq 2200 at 1ohm pushin 2200rms, im more than likely pushin more around ~1600 after impedance rise

@hulbert87 well if you have dual 2's and have it parallel you should be pushing 2200rms at 1 ohm load. most likly your around 2000rms at 13.5volts. really hard to keep it at 14volts unless you got a few alternators more amps than what ur amplifier are pulling

@twista200317 well right but since music is dynamic, the impedance (ohms) is always changing for the amplifier. Even though ,lets say, the subs are wired to 1ohm, the amp will never see a constant 1ohm load since it is always changing. Look up impendance rise/box rise

@cool3be Nice! In my car they dont really, its typically the low notes that makes the subs start to smell, but since my box is tuned really low they dont have a problem with them. As long as you dont go to far over their rated rms, and give them a decent sized box theyll be ok

@mondo82111 mine does pretty good, but the tahoe has the weirdest charging system. it will pretty much turn off the alt when the batteries are charged and even when your bangin it wont turn on completely, supposedly its to save gas, but it can be a little frustrating when you want you amp getting 14.0+ . There is a tow/haul switch that overides the system, but my RPMs will be at 2k+ just goin 30 mph and under....so it doesn't help the gas situation to much
