  • This was "our song" in 1961!! Our 50th wedding anniversary in June!

  • I love old country!

  • JUST MISSED!!! As stated above "You're The Reason" just missed making the Billboard's Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 17 weeks in the Top 100 in 1961!!! {Joe South's version of this song reached No. 87, also in 1961}

  • he's good

  • Nice to have Bobby's voice on YT. Please do post the other songs of his, like "Walk away slowly" if you are in a position to do so. YOU are superb, if not for you, we will never get the opportunity to hear his sings......Thanks to you once again...

  • Not sure if you are related to Bobbie Edwards or not, but I met him once at his house, even met his daughter.

  • Sounds just like pop but its actually supposed to be country(!) Still pretty good but a good example of "the death of country music". Hank III recorded a great Country version of this in 1999.

  • the person that wrote this song, your the reason was Fred Henely from Picayune Ms, back in 1960.

  • I have been looking for this song and this singer fior years. I remember it from 1961 and didn't remember the artist, and I could not find it until just now. thank you so much for posting. I always loved this and it brings back so many mmnories.

  • mitico Bobby Edwards :)

  • On piano. Floyd Cramer

  • Dynamite song. Most of us have been there. Walking the floor, feelin' so blue.

  • This is one of great ones my aunt would play this a lot when i was about 9

now i love it too, reminds me of my sweethear, i lover so much..

  • Although Hank Snow was a great singer and also recorded it, I like this version a lot better.

  • if i remember correctly The Four Youn Men backed him up on this and it was originally released on Crest Records out of LA, the Four young men had a novelty hit Titled Stop Torturing mr baby! ( it was really good), Cheers!

  • Bobby Edwards' style of singing reminds me of another smooth country singer Don Williams!

  • What a great track! The flip side was great too- I'm a fool for loving you. Takes me way back.

  • Country? This was a hit that played on the rock stations back in 61 too. Back then, good music was good music. Rock, country or pop. It all came out of the same juke box. Thanks for putting this one up. -a bigthumbsup-

  • @abrownjr46546 I remember that too about radio and juke boxes. you could hear frank sinatra, ricky nelson, the kingston trio, and leroy van dyke and marty robbins all one after the other. good music is good music period.

  • i like JOHN FOGERTY VERSION TOO.

  • i still cant get this song out of my mind, for a look at it played to a parade go to: brock supply restored tow truck vets day parade

  • Just visited other postings of artists doing this same tune and tho` they were ok, Edwards has my vote. His rendition was just perfect as if it was writtened specifically for him. Told you I`d be back, tho` didn`t plan it this soon! lol

  • @guambetty I think Bobby Edwards may have written the song.

  • @TheLimePopsicle Written by: BOBBY EDWARDS, TERRY FELL, JAMES HANLEY AND MILDRED IMES.

  • Great song and pleasant voice---I didn`t want the music to end. Thanks for sharing & you can bet I`ll be back revisiting!

  • @guambetty You're welcome, glad you like the record.

  • i was at paris island sc boot camp usmc when this song came out heard it at the rifle rang, thanks

  • Agreed: This song has been one of my favorite records of all times. His soundalike followup is also very good. Those were the greatest years of all - we had such a big VARIETY in the types of songs being played. Not anymore... Lots of clones! LG

  • @obg3leng3 In addition, the singing and songwriting was much better then, to say the least.

  • I kept thinking wouldnt it be nice if yodeled a bit..

  • @viscount38 Hank Williams III did a cover of this song with a little yodeling.

  • great song luved it for years

  • Such a smooth voice and the back up singers help make this a great song!

  • nice song !

  • I hadn't heard this song for many, many years one day it just came to my mind and I started singing it. I didn't remember that it was by Bobby Edwards now that I have found it I play it all the time. Thank you for posting it. Jerry W. Brock

  • You're welcome!

  • I love old doo-wop and this song is a hit in my eyes!

  • Tell your friend chezfun that Phyllis/New England Lady likes this also. Thank you T.L.P.

  • You're welcome!

  • I NEVER get tired of this one. Although I get tired from not sleeping at night!

    Are YOU the reason?? LOL!

  • Glad you like the song, this is a favorite of quite a few people!
