  • It's absolutely beautiful how this song ends. Gives me chills every time.

  • wow. just wow. amazingly done.

  • What is it about Amanda's music and making me cry...?

  • gosh, her songs frighten and amaze me at the same time

  • Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley continue to amaze me. Love their songs (:

  • Very haunting, but at the same time, something in the end of the song, when Sandy left, made me get up and shout with joy at the idea of her getting that freedom.

  • She was getting raped????

  • @PieCakeCookie she was being used by pedophiles

  • @PillsofJenny oh my gerd Rape

  • @PieCakeCookie Actually, it's not about "being used by pedophiles" or rape. It's about child prostitution.

"The day she turned thirteen" part shows that she was removed from that system since she was no longer a kid.

  • @PieCakeCookie i think the story is that, Evelyn and Evelyn met Sandy in a place run by that mrs bulger who used children in the child sex industry...she only wanted to use them up until their teens...its quite sad really :(

  • Everything Amanda palmer makes is gold

  • When the world was good..

  • Whatever, I got a screenshot of when it had none <3

  • NOW WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED IT

  • "Sandy Fishnets washed up on the shore."

Does that mean they drowned her in the lake!?!!?

  • @AliceAddams13 No she fell off her boat and got washed up on the shore of some town

  • What a haunting song

  • This is fantastic!

  • I just got chills.

  • Wow, I just realized how this is a song that is tragically about childhood prostitutions... metaphors for powerful change.

  • @puzzleclocks i don't mean to offend you but i digress from that , it may be a metaphor as you say but i suspect that it's just part of "the tragic events of September" as part of a story , however , neither of us shall know for certain since we didn't create this masterpiece

    ...

  • I truly love this song (as well as the rest of Evelyn Evelyn), it always manages to bring some tears to my eyes.

  • Love the song, love the video, love Amanda Palmer, love Jason Webley, love Evelyn Evelyn!

  • I love all of the incredibly creative and inventive Evelyn Evelyn videos. These are sooo good.

  • I know what this song's about, but every time I get to the line "The day she turned 13" my stomach still drops.

    Poor girl :(

  • This is so amazing, my all time favorite song!

  • It's not just the things AFP touches anymore, it's even the things made by people touched by her, it all just overwhelms me with how epic it feels but how grassroots it is.

  • I know Sandy sailing off was probably not a literal thing, but I really want a spin-off now.

  • Goosebumps

  • amanda palmer, i think i'm in love with you again for the bazzilionth time.

  • It's a good song and a really nice video, but... is it about child abuse? :(

(sorry, english isn't my mother tongue)

  • @PoisionedSweets It's about child prostitution.

  • OH OH MY MY GOD GOD!!!!! I LIKE THIS!!!!

  • Zero dislikes. Love it. This song always gives me goosebumps.

  • @g0nzg0nz

If you like the video, comment on the video and forget the likes/dislikes altogether :(

Because it doesn't matter how many likes a good video, or how many dislikes it. Ratings won't change the quality.

  • I feel like my mind has been blown. Seriously.

  • I always liked this song and I always found it very moving but, watching this video, I am actually crying actual tears. Powerful, strange and gorgeous.

  • beautiful and haunting,,,

  • I first encountered Jason Webley a decade ago on the side of a dusty path in Oregon, stomping and accordianing and howling a song about the end of the world. I was twelve, and completely transfixed. It is so incredibly gratifying to discover someone at a time of almost total obscurity and see them become widely recognized. I couldn't imagine a more phenomenal, godsent collaborator for him.

  • This video gave me more chills than the song itself. O...O

This is seriously an amazing video... that's a HUGE understatement though..

  • AMAZING!!

  • Wonderful video, always loved the song since getting the album, and the video definitely does it justice!

  • WWHY?

  • I thought I was going to cry hearing this. Amanda and Jason's voices are just beautiful.

  • I love and hate this in equal messure. I hate it cause it's so good I almost cry everytime I hear it. It's so sad. But I wouldn't change a note.

And the video is fantastic. I loved the underwater creature parts as well.

  • wow, this is a beautiful video. I always liked the instrumental, but was never especially fond of this version. Now I see why this is such a great song though. Aside from the storytelling narrative that is seen throughout Evelyn Evelyn, but not so much in Jason and Amanda's other work, this is the perfect mesh of an Amanda Palmer song and a Jason Webley song.

  • Amanda Palmer's music.... the only thing that makes me feel

  • @TheZombyGrl TRUE THAT MA BROTHERAN

  • wonderful...

  • "What are we sailing for?"

    Oh, wow.

    This is hauntingly beautiful.

  • I got the pleasure of seeing this video at the fire when jason webley presented it. beautiful.

  • This literally gave me goosebumps.

  • Evelin Evelin no habia terminado de convencerme como proyecto músical, con esta rola ya lo logró.

  • Love this song, and love the video! The art style really, really works.

  • great video.

  • This song always makes me cry. It's so sad but so good.

  • incredible, ghastly and beautiful.

  • Amanda Palmer, if I had a nickel for everytime you've astonished me, I would be rich. I never get bored of your songs, and I can just sit and listen to them over and over again.

  • Ack. Fabulously beautiful.

  • beautiful. loved it.

  • Beautifully done. :)

  • Amanda's mind = brilliant.

  • @AstralShayde Hey now, give some credit to her sister, Jason!

  • @memyselfandu as well as the brilliant folks that actually made this video.

  • the blend of styles, the artful storytelling, beautiful...simply beautiful. Thank you so much!

  • I can’t think of any words for this song, just how beautiful it is.

  • The deep-sea animal scenes are amazing, but the entirety of the clip is really, really cool.

    Amazing. ♥
