I wish Staunton and Walker had there Production on The Monitors promoted more because anything they touch is a hit. I think there productions were just so diffrent from the Motown sound that it was like before its time.
@jamar22100 Oh MAN! Staunton and Walker really had some tough stuff! I can never really put it into words, but their material always has such an intense sort of quality. Very dramatic instrumentation and great lyrics. Some of their songs could even be almost cryptic- Kim Weston did one, "I've Got Good News" that never really seems to identify exactly what that "good news" is. I get the basic tone of it, but it's still just vague enough to keep you playing the song over and over, lol!
I very much like the song, you've done a wonderful job presenting it. My previous posting regarding my feelings towards the legacy of The Supremes was a bit drastic specially as I used the word "hate" that was not my intent but in reality my discontent and hurt of the way that Diane handled her ambitious claim to fame and the tarnishing of such beautiful legacy still today very much a part of me!
@TWTR4EVER I appreciate that you like the song and video! I knew where you were coming from with your other comment- I think that anyone who loves the Supremes gets angry about the way the idea of the ladies as a Group was pushed aside for the plans of Diana as a star and Mary and Florence as backups- I went through the same feelings too as I got to know more about the group. But really, the legacy of the Supremes as a Group is in no danger of dying...
BERYY GORDY tried any trick in the book at his disposal to make THE SUPREMES marketable and appealing to the POP & WHITE MARKET TO PAVE THEIR CROSSOVER, do not make this anything more than what it is!
He's credit for sure was to open the door for singers of color into the most profitable market of POP, Berry had no other intention than to PROFIT, his dismal support & leadership both during the DESEGREGATION MOVEMENT & ANTI VIETNAM MOVEMENT PROVE HIS TRUE INTENTIONS!
@wonderboyjoy I had read that too and wondered if Berry had Holland, Dozier, Holland come up with a song with the title of the Doris Day movie as a subtle tribute or what. Whatever the case, I think it's a good song.

@TWTR4EVER do you like the song?

Berry Gordy iodolised Doris. He says so in his book. When he finally met her he was emotional. Berry's book is a good read.
