no. no no. we are not doing this. there are no teams. this is not twilight, and yes when you assign teams to the guys, yes you put twilight and hunger games on the same playing field. yeah book 2 was my least favorite too. im a guy so i really didnt want to read about a girls confused feelings. i had to watch all the die hard movies to regain my manliness, and now im going to have to do it again. question though, why do girls paint one finger nail a different color? is that a new fashion thing?
@cman4145 Yes. Sorry, dude, it's a YA fiction series, there are going to be teams. That's just the way it is. You can either roll with it and have fun--it's all in good fun, after all--whilst wholly recognizing that the point of the series is not the points of romance, or you can single-handedly try to destroy the "team" ideals. If you choose the latter, good luck.
Lol... I just finished Catching Fire and I HATE Gale and want him gone. I wanted to literally throw the book against the wall when she talks about her love for Gale...eww. I kept yelling Peeta is who should love, stupid!!!
My friend says that she likes Gale better that Peeta because she knew him longer and he helped her hunt and keep her and her family alive. I kind of like Gale, but i think Peeta has a more likable personality.
I think that suzanne should NOT make a fourth book, but I don't really loved the end of mickinjay, she should made it longer and cuteness :3 when i read the last line I think ''really? that sound depressing!'' so yes, I actually liked how it ended (Katniss and Peeta! :3 whit TWO little childs :3 :3 :3) but I don't really liked the way she ended it :(
Can you answer this question? If Gale is such a boring character like you say, do you think it is the author's fault? You seem to hate him because of how he is in the book. But what if you think about how a person has created his character that way.
Gale is a thousand times better, Peeta's a idiot who bakes bread~Gale is an exciting Hunter you should do a review on Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins
I loved your review & agreed on literally everything! & as much as I loved how Suzanne Collins ended it I didn't like the fact that it never really tells you that Katniss chose Peeta...(spoiler-->)Yeah, she has kids with him in the future & all, but I still feel like Peeta came to her. How he randomly popped out of nowhere at the end & came to Katniss. & since Gale magically dissapears Katniss really had no choice but Peeta. Even though I am definitely Team Peeta, I just wished she chose him.:(
I had to pause when you started talking about the Mockingjay because I don't want any spoiler alert... but I promise I'll come back when I finish reading it... I just finish Catching Fire like 2 hours ago and just started reading Mockingjay :)
I saw the movie trailer and heard there were books so I wanted to read them before the movie. Absolutely loved them!! Read them 3 times in a row before I could put them down! Loved to hear what you had to say about the series, and completely agree with you about the ending. Just wondering if you have a reading list posted of books you suggest, as I'd prefer to read them before seeing your book review/opinions as I don't like spoilers, and I see you have them marked spoiler alert. Thanks!
You can sing. LOL and you're hilarious. I'm subscribing. ALSO the repetitive "leave them alone" comments: TRUE. I'm kind of sad Gale didn't get any closure though. He just disappeared. That's not what you do to your best friend. :(
@CassJayTuck oh okay. i wish i was a furry animal. allswell that ends well(i have no clue what this means, but i think it is related to this, so. have a nice day!
@cassjaytuck you have genuinely changed my mind about Peeta, I was furious when she picked Peeta at the end of Mockingjay, but I now do agree with you that Peeta's character development is a lot better than Gale's, and I freaking love your videos <3
@cassjaytuck I agree, I love him to! My other fictional Crush is Iggy from MR. :) but since the books have been going down hill lately, I've been reading The Maze Runner and I hope to read Daniel X (:
@shan14135 Right? He goes from this poor, confused kid to the epic action-adventure stud. (: Oh, he's one of my favorite all-time fictional crushes, alongside Klaus Baudelaire, Percy Jackson, and Harry Potter. (: And yes, I just said Klaus Baudelaire. Judge me.
Yea I've been in love with the books for awhile now, and I just got done with the last book :) I liked it but for me it was one of though's book series when were your finished with it, you life is meaning less..I've re-read them so many times :)
I kinda don't see your logic in saying that you don't like Divergent more than The Hunger Games or vice-versa. I get you don't want them to be compared... completely. But what I don't get is the fact that you can still have a favorite out of the two, even if the books aren't the same. Some books are terrible and some are amazing. People are going to say the amazing books are their favorite compared to the terrible ones. Even though they aren't the same books! I just don't get it. Please explain!
@mrtreyswift I think you're over-complicating it. Yes, I like some books more than others. But when it comes to Divergent and The Hunger Games, I like them equally.
@CassJayTuck Okay, now I get it. I just didn't see it at first because you said not to compare books, which I get, but then you said you liked them equally because they aren't they same book. I misunderstood! My bad!
@CassJayTuck Haha, I love that you call me friend. So, I know that this is on The Hunger Games, but I asked you how you liked City of Glass and I just wanted to let you know that I finished it and loved it!
I just watched your vid with the reaction to the Hunger Games trailer (which was great ;)) & just wondering if there's any specific part of the books that you hope will be perfect in the movies and that they don't "screw up"?
@CassJayTuck Just wondering... do you plan everything you say? I just admire how smoothly things flow from your mouth, and you make it all sound so interesting!
@lindaperdoodle Nah, no planning. I record my babbling for a good half-hour or so, then I edit it to death, which leaves me with the finished product.
Mockingjay was my favorite too! (And CF my least favorite...for the exact same reasons you stated.) Glad I'm not alone. haha. Your videos are awesome. I found you on my tumblr dashboard and now I can't stop watching. You're hilarious. :D
I have to say I don't agree with you about the books. I liked Catching Fire best and Mockingjay least, as I found it kinda boring. Gale was awesome, but I'm Team Peeta. I look forward to the movie, script written by her.
I love your energy about books. Totally me. Of course, I want to know if you've tried reading Among the Hidden or Sent, Found, Sabotaged by Margaret Peterson Haddix...THEY'RE AWESOME. Oh, and I have a lack of vocab too. I'm going for an English major. Don't feel bad. :D
Is it just me or does Katniss's nickname Catnip make no sense? ok when you whisper, 's' is one of the strongest and clearest sounds (at least in my experience) so when she whispers her name 'Katniss' surley Gale wouldnt hear 'Catnip' he would hear...'catpiss' (or at least it is a viable option)
Interesting thing i dont know how many people have heard, Has anyone tried mashing the love interests in the hunger games? Katpee? Katta? Peeniss? Ganiss? Kale? Katle?
@XxRoCkAnG3LxX I'm very pleased and excited with the entire cast of the movie. Great picks, in my opinion, all of them. I can't wait to see it on the big screen!
The one thing I really disliked about the Hunger Games was the epilogue. Not because it was a rip-off of Harry Potter (uh, hello, those sorts of endings were around a LONG time before Potter) but because it just seems so out of character for Katniss. I either cannot, or am unwilling to, imagine her with kids. She just seems like the kind of person who would have no idea how to handle them... She'd be awful.
(Also, the fact that Jackson Pearce is in your related videos makes me very, VERY happy.)
@ANinjaDinosaur I could see that if you were talking about sixteen-year-old Katniss. But it's been...what? Twenty, thirty years? I'm sure she's changed somewhere along the way, and with her protective instincts? I think Katniss would make a great mother.
@CassJayTuck You're right, of course - people change a lot in twenty years. I just think that it was a bit too radical a jump to make to go straight from grief-ridden sixteen year old to a mother with two kids. I know that I, personally, was kind of taken aback by the change. I think it would have been better if Suzanne Collins showed maybe ten years on instead of twenty, or even when she agreed to have kids with Peeta.
Are you gonna do a Son of Neptune review after you read the book in two weeks? (Well, a week and 6 days. I think.) Also, don't worry about the Nico di'Angelo thing. I have had a crush on several fictional characters, and I'm still in a never-ending love triangle with Nico and Leo Valdez.
Are you going to read & review Insurgent? (Divergent#2)
And what did you think of the cover of Insurgent that Veronica revealed on her blog?
And also, you said that another book to the Hunger Games would stretch it out too far. What if there was another book, but it was in President Snow's granddaughter's perspective of the Hunger Games? Because she's gonna be in them as they voted in Mockingjay.
@thedivergent1 Do you really think they'd go ahead with a final Hunger Games under President Paylor? Didn't Katniss just vote for Coin's idea so that she kept Coin's trust and had an opportunity to assasinate her? Isn't that what is meant by finding out how much Haymitch really understands her? I don't know: I'm asking, because it was the part of the book which troubled me most and it's not made clear. Katniss was a sympathetic character right up to that point, but voting for the Games? Ugh!
I agree with you completely I love divergent and I love the hunger games, but I didn't like how gale just...leaves. I didn't like him, but he just leaves out of nowhere. And suddenly she just... Understands. No questions, just done. But yea, I agree eth you on the rest :)
Have you read the sequel to Beautiful Creatures, Beautiful Darkness? :) I loved your review on the first book, would love to hear your thoughts on the second!
You should make a video where you discuss which dystopian YA novel has the best and worst society. I mean which society is the best between Hunger Games, Divergent, Matched, Gone, and The Forest of Hands and Teeth.
I can't read Mockingjay. But I still love the series. You should read Gregor the Overlander series! its awesome. I had to read it for school and it was good. not good awesome.
Okay. So. I was watching this video, obviously, and I agree with most if not everything of what you said. I used to not like Mockingjay very much, but when you explain it like that, it makes sense. Yes, war is bloody, people do die, its not a happy thing we do for fun. I always end up laughing one way or another when watching you videos. :)
I think you should do one of these every week with series and tell us what next weeks series is going to be so we can ask questions. I think it would be cool and you've clearly read every freaking ya book there is so..yeah. I just thought it'd be cool. :)
@TheBakerm I didn't have anyone picked before, honestly didn't give it much thought. When I saw Jennifer on the cover of EW, I thought, "That's it. There's my Katniss. She's perfect."
Could you maybepossiblyperhaps do a review on the "Witch and Wizard" series by James Patterson? I'm reading them now, and was just wondering if you had read them and/or liked them. Thankyouverymuch! :)
@megsy827 I can do a real quick personal one por vou: I loved it. The first book's storyline was a bit "meh" at times, but it really picked up on book two, which I found consistently amusing and interesting (save for that creepy romance Weasel-dude has for Wisty.) *shudders* Enjoy!
I really should not have watched this. I'm on the fourth chap. of Mockingjay, and though this series is predictable, I really wish I would've been smart and waited....oh well.
I personally love Gale, and Peeta kind of annoys me, but I'm not Team Peeta or Team Gale, I used to be Team Gale, but now I just want Gale to myself :D haha! You and I seem to disagree on a lot of yet agree on a lot of things, but I like to see people's opinions on different things though. I personally found Gale a bit more interesting, but I guess Peeta DID develope more... You're great to listen to to get into another persons head on a book series! That's why I'm subscribed! :D

ANinjaDinosaur 5 months ago
@ANinjaDinosaur I could see that if you were talking about sixteen-year-old Katniss. But it's been...what? Twenty, thirty years? I'm sure she's changed somewhere along the way, and with her protective instincts? I think Katniss would make a great mother.
CassJayTuck 5 months ago 4
@CassJayTuck You're right, of course - people change a lot in twenty years. I just think that it was a bit too radical a jump to make to go straight from grief-ridden sixteen year old to a mother with two kids. I know that I, personally, was kind of taken aback by the change. I think it would have been better if Suzanne Collins showed maybe ten years on instead of twenty, or even when she agreed to have kids with Peeta.

haha no dislikes. so far nobody was offended. ;)

This has been flagged as spam show
@thedivergent1 Do you really think they'd go ahead with a final Hunger Games under President Paylor? Didn't Katniss just vote for Coin's idea so that she kept Coin's trust and had an opportunity to assasinate her? Isn't that what is meant by finding out how much Haymitch really understands her? I don't know: I'm asking, because it was the part of the book which troubled me most and it's not made clear. Katniss was a sympathetic character right up to that point, but voting for the Games? Ugh!
meerkat90 3 months ago
I agree with you completely I love divergent and I love the hunger games, but I didn't like how gale just...leaves. I didn't like him, but he just leaves out of nowhere. And suddenly she just... Understands. No questions, just done. But yea, I agree eth you on the rest :)

So do u like Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls?
LiliLolli123 5 months ago
@LiliLolli123 Love those books!
CassJayTuck 5 months ago
I completely agree with you on ALL of those questions!
A) My favorite book is Mockingjay. All of the things you're waiting for to happen do and it's a happy ending!
B) TEAM PEETA FOR-FREAKING-EVS!!!!!
C) The end of Mockingjay was rushed, but it didn't need to be dragged out for another fifty pages.
D) NO FOURTH NOVEL! I mean, there's no more story left!
E) I haven't read Divergent yet, so I've added it to my reading list as # 22. (You know, with Borders going out of biz and all...)

You should make a video where you discuss which dystopian YA novel has the best and worst society. I mean which society is the best between Hunger Games, Divergent, Matched, Gone, and The Forest of Hands and Teeth.
TheA2VAL 5 months ago
I can't read Mockingjay. But I still love the series. You should read Gregor the Overlander series! its awesome. I had to read it for school and it was good. not good awesome.

Hmmmm. Interesting take on the whole Team Peeta- Team Gale thing. It really makes me think of my Team gale status...

Okay. :)

but you could say that harry potter is better than the fallen series... oh and i love your hair, heheheh

I think you should do one of these every week with series and tell us what next weeks series is going to be so we can ask questions. I think it would be cool and you've clearly read every freaking ya book there is so..yeah. I just thought it'd be cool. :)

Who did you want to play Katniss and why?
Personally I wanted Lyndsy Fonseca, but I think Jennifer will do a fantastic job, after watching X-men,and The Hunger Games teaser trailer
TheBakerm 5 months ago
@TheBakerm I didn't have anyone picked before, honestly didn't give it much thought. When I saw Jennifer on the cover of EW, I thought, "That's it. There's my Katniss. She's perfect."

Could you maybepossiblyperhaps do a review on the "Witch and Wizard" series by James Patterson? I'm reading them now, and was just wondering if you had read them and/or liked them. Thankyouverymuch! :)
megsy827 5 months ago
@megsy827 I can do a real quick personal one por vou: I loved it. The first book's storyline was a bit "meh" at times, but it really picked up on book two, which I found consistently amusing and interesting (save for that creepy romance Weasel-dude has for Wisty.) *shudders* Enjoy!
CassJayTuck 5 months ago
@CassJayTuck Thank you so much! I agree with you on the first book, and I can't wait to dig into the second one! :)

@Mikkospace That's the plan.
CassJayTuck 5 months ago
I really should not have watched this. I'm on the fourth chap. of Mockingjay, and though this series is predictable, I really wish I would've been smart and waited....oh well.
mlffam 5 months ago
I personally love Gale, and Peeta kind of annoys me, but I'm not Team Peeta or Team Gale, I used to be Team Gale, but now I just want Gale to myself :D haha! You and I seem to disagree on a lot of yet agree on a lot of things, but I like to see people's opinions on different things though. I personally found Gale a bit more interesting, but I guess Peeta DID develope more... You're great to listen to to get into another persons head on a book series! That's why I'm subscribed! :D
