Unions have traditionally opposed campaign finance reform, and now people like the Koch brothers have beat them at their own game of buying influence through campaign donations, who could have seen that coming (anyone with a brain)
Its a Nice Thought Labor: Too Little Too Late- Its a Shotgun Wedding- No Longer a Date- Hard Work is Despised- While Corruption is Praised- Moral Bankruptcy- It Was Just a Phrase- Now it Only Conjures Feelings of Disdain- Corruption is King! And Morality is Now Considered Vain.
No more labor union support will be bad news for the democrats but good news for the republicans. I PERSONALLY AM very dissapointed with Obama but considering the alternative which could be a Christian Taliban under Bachman or
the texan nut or the centerfold presidency of Mitt (Mutt) my vote will still go to Obama.there is a light at the end of the tunnel. THINGS CANT BE BAD FOREVER.Everything follows a cycle
Maybe they'll support the Green Party instead of one of the Corporate parties. Obama isn't the least bit liberal - he's a corporatist. Corporate Democrats are worse than Republicans because they speak like they're allies to working and poor people, but will follow the banksters and Wall Street over the cliff to get those campaign donations and screw everyone else.
NO MORE LABOR SUPPORT FOR DEMS! Insted of crying about how the GOP is worse, how about forming a labor party a challenging the two party dictatorship?
@autonomia386 You're right, once there's a third or forth option and the voters start to migrate to the party the main parties will shift their policies to get the voters back.
Third parties in the US are doomed to fail because of the entrenched system. When Ron Paul ran as a Libertarian in 1988 he is quoted as saying he had to spend more than one third of his energies and monies just to get on state ballots... for some states it was "nearly impossible".
I'm afraid we're stuck with the Republicrat duopoly for a long time.
@autonomia386 Good post, however, working class has this ideology that communism is good for them, when in fact it is the exact opposite, so if a labour party did come about, it would follow a Marxist ideology, and that is the most inhuman and even inhumane ideology possible, possibly worse then corporatism/fascism of today. Between the two evils, I'm not sure which is worse. The only virtuous political position by default is one based on liberty, one which treats people as more then sheep.
It is because of people like that douchebag union leader that the national debt got to be so astronomically high in the first place... yet he STILL acts like it doesn't matter that the US is bankrupt and unable to have a functioning government without going even FURTHER into debt borrowing more money!!
@bobshenix Its because, for roughly forty years, the 'Managers of Americas Wealth' ( as well as European managers ) have been moving factory jobs to China. If we help China maintain internal political stability good. But now our people are without jobs. People unable to house and feed themselves inevitably become revolutionaries. We need to design and build the first commercial fusion reactors. In order to re employ Europe and America we need to design and build a new high tech industrial system
@bobshenix The national debt is a result of Wall Street. The cause a economic collapse that cost countries all over the world billion to bail them out and then they don't pay their taxes. If Wall street had it's ass kicked years ago the US would be in great economic shape.
That's the problem. The enormous profits made in the phony economy (including sub-prime dollars and derivatives) are privatized and the losses socialized. The whole thing is so unjust it is *almost* unbelievable... but the Feds did little to stop it, in fact they facilitated all the shady stuff by allowing the banksters a taxpayer-funded safety net. Knowing that government had their backs mitigated the risk.
"Capitalism is profit and loss, you bail out the losers there's no end to the cost!"
It's not "Stockholm Syndrome", it's just that they don't have a choice. It's Obama or one of the GOP crackpots. As bad as Obama has been on a lot of issues, the GOP would be worse.
If the debt ceiling ordeal didn't drag on under Obama's watch, it would under the next president anyhow. The kind of debt the nation is running up cannot be ignored forever... kicking the can down the road in the name of political expediency might buy some time, but we'll only be worse off in the end.
So do we let the thieves continue to print money out of thin air? Borrow more from China?? Or do we actually start holding Washington accountable for how it spends the taxpayer dollars??
Obama went to Mexico and refused to kill NAFTA. Obama is no friend of the working man in America.

If Democrats behave like Republicans what's the point in having a Dem in the White House. I say vote them all out.

@mexcurmudgeon A one issue party isn't going to really attract voters. A party needs to have a wide range of issues to get a wide range of voters.
