i don't think you realise how physically strenuous work like this is to do. you must be in peek physical conditioning to do this as it is a combination of dance, theatre and acrobatics. I'm a member of a physical theatre company as well as studying drama and this work is exhausting.

Often telling people you don't like their stuff is really hard because more often than not- they lack the maturity to take critisism in it's most honest form. @breezy52393 there are a lot of definitions out there. The simply theatre that focuses on an awareness of the actor in space. The term "physical" makes a lot of people think dance or absurdist theater for some reason and thats not it (although dance like this clearly has an awareness of the actor in space)

It is called Total Theater in many other countries which I think makes more sense, its not just the words the playwright gives you or the techniques a choreographer assigns.

Physical Theatre Actors tend to be actors first, dancers second.

There is a much bigger focus on emotion, more so than aesthetics. I am training with Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre company and the majority of actors are just that, actors, who have dabbled with the art of dance.

Physical Theatre is also an umbrella for alternative theatre, it is physical art, it can be rich in meaning, logically, symbolically or metaphorically.

But quite often, we are meant to draw our own meaning from it all.
