  • thats the same as my guitar. cool

  • Not to diminish these major contributions wich seem to be scaled up to sharpen minor guitar players flat compositions, and I dont mean to come across as an overly dominant voice, shooting cadence from an atonal canon, buttake a moment and let this register. My motif is pure, you can start the night with a lime & tonic, and end it with a tonic, but it doesnt make the night any better .... De Capo, have fun with your Etude

PS - play by ear, this stuff is learned by wandering the fretboard.

  • say what???

  • The intro sounds very Avenged Sevenfold......nnniiccee :)

  • @Puertorico2494 Not at all lol.

  • @cmc47834 I meant Like when Zacky and Synyster Harmonaize.....Geez >.>

  • @Puertorico2494 I know, but I'd agree it would sound like Avenged Sevenfold if he did the riff in a different key like in D, thats what most of their songs are in

  • @cmc47834 Well yeah I guess you're right he would sound more like A7X if he would've played the riff in D but I still think it sounds like them. But yeah you're right.

  • What is that cool looking gadget thing behind your bridge? lol

  • Hey Andrew! Very sweet lesson for people who have no idea about harmonization!

Anyways I got a question for you. I do alot of harmonizing in my videos and keep getting comments that ask me how to harmonize. Would you mind if I send em straight to this video so I don't have to explain to them. I find this video really easy to understand for begginers. Again great lesson!

  • @sweetsweepbeat,

Yes, by all means link this video... It's 100% public.

And, thanks a million for the kind words.

    All the best,

    Andrew Wasson

  • What kind of pickups are you using on that bad boy, they sound heavenly!!

  • nice video.... learn something today...thanks...

  • Thanks Andrew!

  • Thank you Andrew

Someone commented that you dont look like a guitar player

Simply stated, music is not looked at

Your a great player and instructor

  • I am sure that you know your stuff, Andrew, but with all due respect, it is misleading to tell your students that: "a minor third interval goes a whole step apart between two adjacent strings and a major third interval goes a semi-tone apart between two adjacent strings". I am assuming that you know that a semi-tone is the distance of one fret ONLY IF you stay on the same string and a whole step is two frets ONLY IF you stay on the same string.(!) I'm just sayin'.

  • Hey andrew, nice video, whats your review of that rail pickup in the bridge position?thanks.

  • your not telling me anything

  • thank you this really helped

  • best of the best!!!

    I like

  • Very informative and helpful. Thanks a lot!

  • didn't really understand. how can I harmonize a melody in the key of g?

  • do you apply the same tonic, sub dom, and dom theory has with the chords.

  • good info. thanks

  • Mm, I love how he ends it, leading tone to tonic and the harmony in the bg just keeps going on at 0:46, pretty nice.

  • i would have started out with the major scale, intervals, and then showed the patterns.

like u said know ur scales. if you know your scale its pretty easy to find the right harmonizing note

  • thanks broha realy helped me understand alot better keep it shredin man

  • there is something i dont understand plz help . isn't it true that the major third of B is Eflat ? if the B note is on 9th fret 4th string the majthird is going to be 8thfret 3rd string ! but you showed the 6th fret 3rd string , I'm learning this material so i'm not getting it at the begining ... thx

  • @HarDAllillA : it was the 7th fret on the 3rd string, and that is because he was showing a minor third from B, not a major third. Cheers!

  • Is there anywhere to get the tabs for the part played in the start ?

  • Just watch it. Its pretty clear.

  • Link is in the sidebar, under (more info).

  • @ibanez666guitarist its not very hard to fguer out...... + you even have avid to see him do it! how easy is that!

  • good video, does anyone know where i can contact him for questions?

  • That was insanely helpful, the powertab makes it even easier to understand! Thanks man

  • caged system is the most ingenious for guitar

  • o.o awsome vid....im gonna try to harmonize an ubber fast melody in thirds and then in fifths mwahahah itll sound like shredding with chords

  • When you said, you should know scales.... Did you mean all the scales in all positions?

  • Hello: "mr252307,"

The patterns covered in my last video:

    "How to Practice Scales"

There is a handout of everything you'll need

to know - link in the side-bar on that one.

    Hope this helps,

    Andrew

  • Thanks. This helps ALOT.

    Thank you

  • god bless you, andrew1
