There is something weird about American news programs. Where I live, the News gives facts about certain issues. In America the news tells you how to feel about certain issues with but a few relevant facts.
Zakaria was probably not talking about this particular bill. But if Americans could take care of themselves more and not look towards the hand of the goverment in every situation, we would definitely be living much better.
Danm, I think I'm going to have to learn Chinese soon. Every person that I ever talk to about politics, even if they don't follow it, are a million times more rational than anyone thats invested in it. I hate all of the weekday shows on both Fox and MSNBC. Incredibly biased on all of them. Sunday politics is where its at!
The US govt gets only 14% of its GDP from taxes which is one of the lowest in the world and has the highest budget in the world. The govt need both to increase its revenue and reduce spending but it has to be both to reduce the public debt. About O'reilly, I don’t have anything to say than he is a proof of why America went down from being an engine to a drag in the global economy.
175 million americans are under-employed, but property tax (and other taxes) will rise to steal any income that is made. Higher wages = higher taxation. People - it's called "theft", and theft is bad. It will eliminate the WHOLE human race if allowed to continue. It guarantees that the retards will control quality of life. Read "The Doozie". amazon, by GH
Increased taxation with decreased consumption would certainly benefit any ailing economy. It doesn't take a genius to recognize money saved from decreased consumption could be put toward revitalizing an economy in recession. The mere fact Bill O'Reilly's show persists proves millions of Americans share his misguided views, which is why our country is on such a slow path to recovery.
This is a joke Zakaria is one of the only intelligent people in cable news (not at all "far left") and here he's just stating the obvious that in a bad economy people need to be more responsible with their money and the government needs to raise taxes. He likes to encourage talk about PRACTICAL solutions to problems instead of continuing the same age-old ideological debates.
“By whatever means, it is imperative that we make new investments," says the moderate progressive Fareed, as he implores Government to override the U.S. Constitution, undermine the will of the people, confiscate $2 trillion more from the taxpayers, and essentially place the private sector under Government command.
Even the moderate left burns with fascism and tyranny.
@islandmuffin I agree entirely, Why would I want the government to take more of my money and blow it on policies and entitlements that are doomed to fail?
Fareed Zakaria wants $2 trillion more in stimulus deficit spending. Without citizen consent or congressional approval, he is imploring Obama to unilaterally “announce a national jobs emergency” so that Government may seize $2 trillion more from future generations of Americans for more Government programs.
I'm not so sure congressional polls have improved ever since, Bill. And to a certain extent, Zakaria isn't that wrong. The US experienced a sublime free ride ever since the Reagan tax cuts, not gaining much in the process. Hardship does not mean cuts, it also means taxes. Just look to Germany to see the end result...
Hey Bill buddy, if you're serious about cutting down the deficit ya shoulda spoke up a little bit when Bush was in power. Oh and also if you'd like to reduce now, we can start with the bloated military budget, which by last estimate i saw constitutes 47% of the entire world's military budget. Thats kinda a little excessive pal
@killingfloor70 Well, let me give you an analogy, lets say you go to see a play in an auditorium and you take a seat waaaaaaay over on right side, looking at the stage you'd probably be asking "why is everything so far to the left?". Silly Bill, if he was a little closer to the center he'd see everythings really not that far to the left
@angel2901 ...WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? I am sorry for being impolite, but maybe you don't live in the States but the masses don't have jack shit. At one time we had a high standard of living, that's long gone. And meanwhile I have to look at this worldly, wealthy sack of shit Bilderberg member who's not even an American lecture me about greed and talk about how we need to abandon the Constitution and become a global community of peasants. And then dumb slaves like you agreeing.
@911insidejo8 First of all, Fareed is an American. You need to listen what he says and then you'll understand he is right. You guys spend to much. You have a huge debt and what did you do with the money? Did you build bridges and roads, did you improve your educational system? No, you've spent it. You need to start producing things again, you need to start to save and you need a much higher interest rate. And some of you, not the poor or the middle class families, need to pay higher taxes.
@angel2901 ...And I'm sorry for calling you a dumb slave, that was rude and you're being polite, but I know who shitheads like Fareed Zakaria work for and it's not us. HE MAKES ME SICK!!!
@911insidejo8 And you need to cut back a little bit too. In the military, social security etc. Your political system is ruining your country which is a shame because I thinks its a great country. You are not Brazil or South Africa. You can't slums on side of the street and big villas on the other side. Then you will have riots. You need some balance, a middle class. And Fareed didn't say you need to abolish the constitution. You need to modify so it can work in the 21 century.
@angel2901 ...thank you for your polite response. And no, I didn't spend anything. Like mafia, the government (that Fareed works for) comes in and takes our money and gives it to bankers. Then mouthpiece Fareed put on heirs like he cares about the slaves and gives us his concoction of enslavement ideas. He doesn't work for us, he goes to Bilderberg for God's sake. Fareed and his masters have outsourced our industry. Fareed is there to confuse and enslave while acting like he cares.
@911insidejo8 We agree to disagree on Fareed. I agree with you that many Americans didn't spent money and don't want to see banks and corporations being bailed out. But unlike to the people in my country you have the chance to change things. I follow US politics and there are several people who understand your problems and know the solution. Ron Paul, for example. No one prevents you guys for voting for him.
Fareed Zakaria (CNN), Markos Moulitsas (Daily Kos), Arianna Huffington (Huffington Post), Cenk Uygur (The Young Turks), the Italian-sounding socialist douche bag on YouTube whose channel name is cynically called "freedom&democracy," et cetera... these foreigners, coming from un-American systems, behaving with blatant incivility as they bad mouth America with their thick accents, while they celebrate the mediocre hell wholes they left (there's a hint!), prove how tolerant we Americans really are.
@USA4July1776 Amen , their citizenships ought to be revoked & deported back to the shit-holes they came from.. especially that Turkish scum "Cenk Uygur "..
@USA4July1776 I have to say that Zakaria is largely right on the economy - what O Reilly said isnt quite the whole story, the US borrowed another trillion dollars recently off the Chinese to give themselves a tax break, whilst the Chinese invested 1.5 trillion over 5 years in strategic industries.
By way of concession, I will give you what you said about Cenk Uyger; I watched him interviewing the other day and he is an ignorant, loudmouth blowhard :)
@USA4July1776 dear mr re-enactor: please learn how to spell before you start hating people with accents. it is embarassing to watch you deride people who have much better jobs and education than yourself as if you could even sustain a conversation with them. we americans are indeed tolerant; we let delusional and paranoid fatbrain mcfaggy glenn beck imitators who wear american flaggy sweatshirts go on youtube and say anything they want and your todd palin g-string is a bit un-american I betcha.
I am so glad that you exposed your obscene prejudices in the open.
First, I'm a first generation American citizen from hispanic descent, so I have an accent myself. I just find it beyond outrageous that foreigners now come to America to bad mouth it, on leftist platforms. When you come to America, you have a duty to prove your loyalty to it, many patriots have died and sacrificed to give us this freedom, power and wealth we now enjoy.
