The US govt gets only 14% of its GDP from taxes which is one of the lowest in the world and has the highest budget in the world. The govt need both to increase its revenue and reduce spending but it has to be both to reduce the public debt. About O'reilly, I don’t have anything to say than he is a proof of why America went down from being an engine to a drag in the global economy.

Increased taxation with decreased consumption would certainly benefit any ailing economy. It doesn't take a genius to recognize money saved from decreased consumption could be put toward revitalizing an economy in recession. The mere fact Bill O'Reilly's show persists proves millions of Americans share his misguided views, which is why our country is on such a slow path to recovery.
