  • OMG THANK YOU FOR THIS UPLOAD I did not completely understand this as a kid but now I know HE WAS RIGHT !!

  • Yeah who is Robert K Wies? lol

  • It saddens me that this words turned out to be prophetic. The flame of the blues legacy is still burning, but it's slowly dying. I like to imagine blues musicians as candles who together shine one great light - but more candles are getting blown than fired up these days. And I'm not afraid that one day the mankind will wake up in a dark cave with no candle to shine a light - I'm afraid that I'll be a witness of this day coming. Here's to all 531002 who watched the video: DON'T LET THE FIRE DIE!

  • well, he has a point, hasn´t he?

  • My favorite part of this is when Willie sees them walk on and goes, "aw shit" and the whole band joins them with the exception of Blue Lou who goes to get gas

  • I love this scene so much. And i love everyone commenting on this page agreeing with this speech. I'm 17 and i love the blues, a lot of people my age listen to some awful music...*sigh*. I saw Buddy Guy and B.B King live, great shows. I wish music like that was still being made and we didn't have half the crap we have on the radio now. I'm doin my best to keep good music alive!!!

  • Can I get an amen?

  • 13 people quit the band

  • I love this intro to Green Onions. GREAT sound!

  • I'm disappointed that this video doesn't have more views & likes.

  • I dont give a sh.t to critics or people who think they are fan of the original film but in reality are not, a true BB fan loves this film as much as the first one! Blues Brothers Forever, the music will go on man!!

  • Let LADY FUCKING GAGA see this video !

  • what movie is this from?

  • @LukeMAN5214 Blue Brothers 2000, read the title next time?

  • @Evolution0369 oh haha

I thought that was just when the movie was made

  • You spelt 'wither' wrong...

  • agh you've cut the end!!!! why?!?!?! it's the best part!!! the music can be heard clearly!!!!

  • I saw the Robert K. Weiss Band yesterday. Goddamn they rocked!!!

  • @PanekPL Robert K. Weiss aint a band :P It's a movie director

  • Comment removed

  • elwood for president

  • So I was looking up all the musicians from this movie just for the hell of it. It kind of surprised me how many of them are dead now. Lou Rawls, Koko Taylor, Isaac Hayes, Bo Diddley, Wilson Pickett, Billy Preston, Clarence Clemons, James Brown and (being a bari sax player this is a pretty big bummer) Grover Washington Jr. The movie may not have been great, but it's a collection of singular people doing what they do best. That's gotta count for something.

  • @1:04 - @1:16 pretty much sums up my whole life.

  • Truer words spoken. He predicted the music of the 2010s as they are(except grunge is now gone & rap is more verbal than violent anymore)

Case & point, Ke$ha, Rebecca Black, Justin Bieber, and every last auto-tuned teen, tween, emo, & digitally sampled amateur out there in the music world or on YouTube.

  • @TheGrungeGamer

This is the reason why I looked up this vid. To see if anyone else found this moment of this movie as the most prophetic speech of the 20th century. Indeed no truer words have ever been spoken on the music industry. It saddens me that this is what music has come to.

  • @DrStrangefate ...I think there loads of good music around, there always will be ...It doesn't concern me if others listen to the crap that's about.

  • @DrStrangefate Ahmen brother. Just like everything else the heart is gone out of music. It's just a big board with a lot of levers and switches.

  • Robert K. Weiss is the producer of BLUES BROTHERS (1980)

  • I have seen the light ! Time to get out the old vinyl and fire up the parlophone. Thank you Elwood.

  • The best speech ever. This really hits me where I live. Long live Blues and Soul.

  • Will someone please play this video to Simon Cowell? PLEASE!!!

  • I am such a blues geek that when he said that list up to Otis Redding I knew all the names

  • @ThaMrNacho Who is Robert K Weiss?

  • I love techno as much as the next guy, but every now and then I always go back and play the epic tunes of BB King, James Brown, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee, SRV, and all the great virtuosos that made rock n' roll, soul, blues... because Elwood has preached the truth, if we leave it to autotune, the music world as we know it is F***ed!

  • How true this would become!

  • @Slipkid427 Sadly, yes...

  • What a cool version of Green Onions.

  • For my co-workers at that lumber shop. I too am on a mission from God...but you know that already. I'm still an average guy like you...sans the skull tatoos and radical fringe right-wing political vitriol perpetrated by pundits. I pray for all of you. Don't trust politicians, trust in Jesus.

  • 0:56 and forward is THE ETERNAL TRUTH!

  • Jehn Belushi died to young for a man like him

  • Now, that day has come, music today is the crap that we could not destroy, I cant go on the radio and find a good song nowadays, long live dave brubeck, to hell with usher, justin bieber, lady gaga, and all those who killed the good name of music

  • Robert K. Weiss convinced Dan Aykroyd and John Landis not to quit this film. That's why he is mentioned.

  • Robert K. Weiss is the first and the most popular creator of The Blues Brothers

  • I like recykled electronic techno-grooves...:(

  • @Gfors85 that doesn't matter if you also like blues and rock n' roll:P

  • Hahah that is sooo true. . .

    the new generation with tecn-groves

    LMAO

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the music that starts at 0:45 ?

  • @Rafa2296 Found it ! I'm so dumb .. It was on the title of the video x) .. Thank's anyway

  • @Rafa2296 What is the name of the song?

  • @rocknroll1able green onions

  • @Rafa2296 green onions

  • I like Elwood better in the first film. He was an innocent, laid-back, carefree and footloose. And his voice was deeper aswell. His voice is fairly annoying here, suddenly gone from deep to high-pitched. I like that he looks after Buster and acts like a father figure to him, but the other half of his personality is just not the same. I miss the old Elwood.

  • Fuck the critics! BB 2000 was as good as the original BB! IF you are true fan, you will agree!!!

  • HE DIDN'T MENTION JIMI HENDRIX. O GAWD WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO?!

  • @cky12qxz to be fair hendrix wasnt a blues muscian. but he was no doubt a brilliant guitarist :D

  • @BestWaffles He most definitely a blues musician. Listen to the 15 minute version of Voodoo Chile.

  • @BestWaffles I will say that hendrix was an innovative guitarist, but as far as actually playing his instrument goes, his riffs were fairly simple and could be mastered in a day. the only thing he was good at was making his guitar sound unlike a guitar. That doesn't make you a good guitarist, in my opinion, but what do I know.

  • I haven't seen all of this movie. Does Buster get adopted and if so who adopts him? Is it Elwood? Mack?

  • "Simperin' sackerin' soulless slush!" ^^ ... Love that colorfull description

  • So Robert k.weiss is the producer of the first film: The Blues Brothers :D

  • Green Onions by Booker T. & the MG's

  • Whats the background music? Is it Booker T & the MG's - green onions by any chance?

  • Sweet Booker T! Do I see the M.G.s?! That's it. I gotta see this flick.

  • he describes music of today. since its been since atleast the very late 80s and esp now.

    pure slush

  • i love how he describes the crap that passes for music now.

  • Way to go Elwood Blues. I only wish Jake is still around. Great scene

  • classic akroyd

  • what is the music in minute 0:46

  • @joaolanzinha12 green onions

  • @TBStudios91 thanks

  • Who the hell is Robert K. Weiss?

  • @modernway91 Actually is the producer of the first Blues Brothers movie ;-)

  • @modernway91

if its meant serious, its the producer^^

  • @modernway91Robert K Wiess was the producer of the original blues brothers movie

  • @modernway91 okay i got it, producer of the first movie. Cool.

  • @modernway91 In the film Blues Brothers 2000, the name of Robert K. Weiss is mentioned in a speech by Elwood Blues as the final name in a long list of legendary blues artists that Elwood lists to convince his band not to quit. This is presumably a reference to how Weiss convinced Dan Aykroyd (Elwood) and director John Landis not to quit the film.

  • @modernway91 He directed the first film.

  • @Phantomsbreath no he didn't john landis!

  • @modernway91 He's the producer of the first movie.

  • Comment removed

  • @modernway91 he wrote the naked gun movies

  • One of the best speeches about American Blues and Rock & Roll. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'm in!!!

  • people say the first one is better but i cant seem to choose witch is better my self, both masterpieces

  • MrJRichie . . . YOU WIN THE PRIZE!!!

. . . being, That You Can Feel Good About

    Being So Smart!!!

  • Sad thing is, these things we were warned of in this speach, is what we have...

  • everyone just needs to stop comparing this movie to the first one, how many sequels can you name that were better that the original? as far as i'm concerned, they only pulled that off with the Godfather II, the Dark Knight and the Lord of the rings. of course the original is better, but that doesnt mean this is a bad movie. the music is great (again) and it has that blues brothers feeling to it. i like it anyway, and all those of you who piss vinegar and shit bricks: fuck you, go cry in a corner

  • that's such a watered down studio version of "Green Onions"… nowhere near as good as the original or the live version The Blues Brothers did in 1980

  • 6 people left

  • inspirational....

  • Long live The Blues Brothers! They are on a mission from God! R.I.P. John Belushi

  • Can you put the whole speach up?

    R.I.P John Belushi

  • Robert K. Wiess was the directer of the first film.

  • I KNOW WHO "Robert K. Weist" is ... DO Y'ALL KNOW???

  • why does he say '...william 1 and 2' but 1 with a weird accent :O

  • ...... THEY SHOUD HAVE NOT DONE THIS MOVIE ......

........ no way anywhere even close and not a tribute to John!!!

  • BLUES BROTHERS ARE COOL

  • explain the 4 stupid people who said this isn`t a good video that the world can `t exist without the american legacis:

Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed, Memphis Slim, Blind Boy Fuller, Louie Jordon, Little Walter, Big Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson I and II, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, Elvis Presley, Lieber and Stoller, and Robert K . Weiss.

  • dat little bastard guy sucks ...goodman sucks too. fucking Fred Flintstone

  • FUCK YOU BULUSI FOR DYING . . . could have done much, much more!!!

  • I don't like this film compared to the masterpiece of the first...but this speech has its own value...

  • why would they destroy a good movie with..... this.

  • @defrancotv clearly you don't understand the movie!

  • i love him

  • everytime i hear that speech something inside me just tingles :D

  • The Blues Brothers - Epic

The Blue Brothers 2000 - Toilet

  • i really enjoy the Blues Brothers...

  • wow.....Let's stick a pair of chuck taylors and raybans on a kid and sell cute.....what a shame. Just like any sequel-SUCKS!

  • what is the name of the song in the background??? pretty please :D

  • @maimutaturbata Green Onions.

  • @maimutaturbata green onions

  • @maimutaturbata it's called "Green Onions"

  • Comment removed

  • @tomthefunky Blues is a lot older, but the rock deriving from blues is not.

  • just watch the movie Crossroads and it was about a legendary guitarist named Robert Johnson, and the first name Elwood says is Robert Johnson. If you love the blues watch Crossroads, its awesome.

  • Blues Brothers rule

  • The music, i do miss the music

  • I will learn this text, and demolish my friends who listen lady gaga, lil gayne ect...

this text evereyone should learn and tell others.

    P.S.

Sorry for my bad english, croatian grammar is much diffrent from english grammar

  • @wlattkouzd and swiss grammatic too;-))) so do not give a damn about this!!! only what comes from your heart is true for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dan aykroyd really lost weight and looked great for this. He was really fat and old looking before this, and he worked hard to get into shape for it. Regardless of wether you like this sequel or not, you have to admit he DID become Elwood again for it.

  • @w0bbl3r plus the author did a good job with this speech - it's oh so true ...

  • Blues Brothers 2000 wasn't the same without Belushi, R.I.P.

  • Is that the Booker T and MGs standing near the police car?

  • @evensteven69 That's most of them. They're just missing Shaffer. I think.

  • I know ackroyd tried, but in my opinion, he did what some white people did to the blues in the seventies, made it un fuckin cool. He put out a disney movie that truly sold out the original masterpiece that was acessible to a white kid who fell in love with music after seeing it. I'm glad the artists on this piece of shit made money, but sad it shit on a movie I consider special. I would say ackroyd had good intentions but, since he wrote both, I can't. It's all opinion, but jesus christ.

  • @5150zombie its really not that bad

  • @yogurtpimp stick to that optimism. I commend ya.

  • @5150zombie

well i mean it is just differences in opionion

  • @yogurtpimp I totally agree with you on differences of opinion. Mine is just mine, doesn't make it the right one, just saying my peace. Take it easy, man.

  • im sry for jake

  • I love the speech at 0:55 urging the real musicians from becoming extinct.

  • Um dos melhores filmes que já assisti.

  • Words to live by baby!

  • who is robert k. wise?

  • @daveibukun Robert K. Weiss was the producer of the original Blues Brothers film and this one.

  • who plays the little kid?

  • Through the shittyness of this failiure of a film shines truth in what Dan Aykroyd said. Thats whats really important about this film i think Dan wanted people to hear that and remember it and what better way to make a point, a true one at that. I need a fuken blues band then i want a 74 dodge monaco, then im going to ejaculate tones of real music upon this garbage ass world.

  • They also should have had a line like " No sarcastic kid, tall fat guy, and that guy from Terminator 2 can replace my Brother jake" they tried.. just not hard enough

  • robert k. wiess worke on the original blues brothers

  • Oh yes....

  • AMEN BROTHER!!! i got to get more people to listen to this speech, its soo true

  • blues brothers 2000 wasn't all that but it's somehow enjoyable...but what blew me back was when the car went underwater and shyt...but i hope aykroyd and landis get their shit together and make a better movie...we need a blues brothers 3!!! and i wish that they would rebuild dixie sq. mall so we can see elwood haulin' azz thru there 1nce again...blues brothers for life!!!

  • "Turn your backs now and you snuff out the fragile candles of Blues, R&B and Soul, and when those flames flicker and expire, the light of the world is extinguished because the music which has moved mankind through seven decades leading to the millennium will whither and die on the vine of abandonment and neglect". Hell, he's right. Look at what R&B has evolved into.....

  • non c'e' paragone con il primo ..pero' sempre grandi:)

  • Booker T & the MG's

  • what's that music called when elwood get's his guts back?

    wich starts at 0.45

  • i listend to booker t version, but it just sounds diffrent....

  • @gtafan110010 its just faster

  • @gtafan110010 this version is actually by the blues bros. band i think

  • this version is one half step up than the booker t version

  • The musics called green Onions Its a classic but i dont know who plays it lol !

It may be the t j hooker band im not sure

  • I think it was the blues brothers band themselves according to the credits. I know theyve performed it live.

  • @derek6678421 I only know the version with Jon Lord on the organ...

  • @gtafan110010

    green onions

  • Who IS Robert K. Weiss???

  • Producer of the Original Blues Brothers movie among other classic John Landis, Zucker Borthers, and Jim Abrahams movies as well as the underrated tv series Sliders.

  • The first part was so much better :( no one can beat john belushi and it had better blues...just saying

  • Duck ant Steve!!!!!

  • ciao!

io ho messo il video del discorso in italiano ma siccome ci sono mille storie per il copyright adesso il video non si trova neanche tra i risultati di youtube...come l'hai risolto? grazie

  • truer words have never been said. This speech mean so much more today then in the 90's though back then it was was pretty true. Today there seems to be nothing but well...

recycled, digitally-sampled techno-grooves, quasi-synth rhythms, pseudo-songs of violence-laden gangsta-rap, acid pop, and simpering, saccharine, soulless slush.

  • I love Elwood's driving <333 I wish I could park like that..

  • You do. Just keep trying xD

  • Fuck yeah, I love that way of park

  • wonderful clip. love this film. sooo....lets get the whole movie on youtube! wat do ya say?! :)

  • hay, there outside the city they place My Cousin Vunnie in, but besides that, very good speech :)

  • I hate this movie (it just felt dead without John), but this speech is fuckin' amazing. And Green Onions on top? Sugar.

  • what is the name of that song?

  • Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's.

  • words of a prophet

  • i knw i do

  • awesome speech. r.i.p. john belushi.

  • @MrHAMMO987 its how i feel about music of today thats what it was in '98 when the movie was made and how it esp is now..

  • Robert K. Wais :)

  • I would say this movie is as good as the original. This movie had some real talent in it and I still love the original also but this one introduced me to Jonny Lang's music and for that im very greatful.

  • john belushi died before this movie was made. thats why john goodman was in it.
