I have played with a Line 6. If you want a real sound, get rid of your Line 6. Here comes the argument of the century: Digital Vs. Analog. He gets the funky sound because of the vintage gear he plays with. The 62' pickups help a lot, so does playing with 2 Marshall Heads, and his pedalboard that is filled 3 miles long with filters and effects. Getting a funky sound boils down to the notes you play, your stroke, your tone, etc. At least..I think it does.
