What a waste, someone else posted CACTUS first live stuff for 30 years under "CUCTUS" instead and hardly anyone has found it ... :-( Search youtube for this "Cuctus Live @ B.B. King - "One Way or Another" (Part 3) " ...Live from New York City June 3 2006 Jim McCarty (Guitar), Carmine Appice (Drum), Tim Bogert (Bass), Jimmy Kunes (Vocal) and Randy Pratt (Blues Harp)
redtorso is right. there is no substitute for Rusty. damn you Rusty! why'd you have to die man? i saw these guys 3 times, once in Baltimore headlining a New Year's Eve show with Mitch Ryder opening, (how ironic was that?), once again at some club in Georgetown and the last time was with the german guys in Alexandria, VA. Then BB&A later. Anybody have any old clips out there?
jody blair? did cactus open up for john lennon crysler arena 1971 ? stevie wonder ,j giels band, when the dood was put in jail for two joints john sinclair
Excellent. I agree one of the greatest albums of all times. I would love to see a full concert video. Is there any out there and is this band still doing this stuff now?
EMERGENCY if someone here have the full concert in DVD-R or VHS of first show June 3 and second show Sept 19 at bb king club please sendme a e-mail (we have to talk in serious )see you folks...Enrique
Forty years ago in '66 I heard Mitch Ryder's band with Jim McCarty on guitar. Jeff Beck has said he is the one guitarist his is intimidated by. Then I heard him play with Buddy Miles Express and Cactus but it wasn't until now that I could see him play. Thanks very much. Is there any video of Cactus from the '70's?
cactus was, imho, the Quintessential"blues/rock" (sorry) power trio type band of that era. Those albums kick ass in the most serious way. and ,as is very apparent on the recently released double live disc on Rhino, they also delivered live in a big way.
Man, I just discovered this band's music a couple of months ago. Someone sent me an MP3 of "Evil" (vis-avis their hearing it on DLR's now-defunct radio show) and I haven't looked back since. I'm bummed I missed this show.
