Is it me or does ichigo lose every big fight he's in. when he fought zaraki he went down first and they both were alive. Zaraki won no matter how the creators made it look. When he fought byakuya, he was defeated; but the hollow won. In this fight he lost and grimjow won 2/3 times fighting ichigo. Even the third time noitora was the one to win not Ichigo.

The morbid irony of his own despair giving him the answers he sought for so long right when it would no longer matter to him is designed to make Ulquiorra's death one would have to take with a grain of salt.

Ulquiorra was telling Ichigo he was powerless as he was a human against him. How did he overpower Ulquiorra? He gave in to despair and transformed into a Hollow, much like Ulquiorra was. Only then was he able to gain an upper hand. He lost this match both in philosophy and in terms of actual combat.

@verifymyageful Probably. But Ichigo had the chance to train. The captains had a chance to train as well, and get stronger. Ulquiorra and most of the Espada didn't have such a luxury as most of them died. So that's not a very fair comparison. Despite being overwhelmed by Supreme Hollow Ichigo, Ulquiorra was in fact the one who cut his horn and reverted him back to normal. He could have easily killed Ichigo then... but he was an honorable fighter, unlike most of the Espada.

@DonnieDarkoRemains They made Ulquiorra a foil for ichigo which is why he was stronger in both aspects, in truth if Ichigo could of had more control of his powers (not like his godlyness vs aizen which was bs) it should of been more even at least... like have the hollowification be close to form 1 ulquiorra then get utterly raped... but yeah ulquiorra was winning and should of won if anything a draw.. a real draw.. but i agree to a point :)
