@KateFantasizes It's fun to get beat up by this slide. Lie flat, cross your arms and legs, no trouble getting ten feet of air, and missing the last slope completely! You'll know you've done it right when you have the wind knocked out of you and see stars when you slam down onto the last part of the slide, just prior to smashing into the water in the splashdown pool to double up the experience. If you exit the splashdown pool dizzy, and just short of a concussion, you're there!!!

@Coolwhip353 they can if its covered and you have enough velocity the lateral and vertical g's will push you to be upside down, however the aqua loop will be at an angle.

@coldtemperature From what I have found out about this from waterpark staff, the likely start point would be from the highest platform which only serves the Twister waterslides at this time. The slide would pass over the top of the Tropical Typhoon and somehow terminate into (or near) the splashdown pool for the Nessie's Revenge and Sky Screamer waterslides. Of course, until they release conceptual drawings or construction commences, it is speculation...

Now we all understand you would just like to be there again, not that you were just there and Nessie's was closed down. So it's good news... I hate when the slides are closed down, especially if it's permanently.

Ah, you have been there since I have. I figured that you were an Edmontonian, since it looked like you were in there on a weekday when hardly anybody else was there. I am from the Calgary area and this mall is one of the few reasons why I would even go to Edmonton.

I miss the submarine rides too. Damn that was cool when they had that running.

If you liked how the mall used to be, check out the other videos I have which show areas inside WEM in 1994, and also the video of Fantasyland in 1994, before it became Galaxyland... a lot has been lost over the years, not just waterslides.

I find Nessie's Revenge scarier than the Sky Screamer, for sure! The Sky Screamer just shoots you down and it's over within a matter of seconds. Nessie's Revenge lasts longer and sometimes jolts you around to the point of pain, and you can get some serious air if you are going fast enough. Although, both slides are good to get your heart racing.

The new Blue Bullet is now a totally enclosed tube (dark), so there would be nothing to film. I have gone down the new Blue Bullet a few times, it's good. But I wish I would have had the waterproof camera when the original Blue Bullet was in operation to film that one - it was great!!

i remember at a hotel in kamloops, me and my little brother, we were at one of those small 1 slide water parks and the side is all enclosed (except at the end) and it would stick out of the hotel. and if you were small enough and bent down enough, you could actually climb up the slide! Me and my brother tried it and it was really fun!!

Pretty common to become airborne over the 3rd drop, and even over the 2nd drop. Especially if you keep your arms and legs crossed and lean back to reduce drag to go as fast as possible, (exactly what I avoided doing while filming this!)

In 1998, on weekends, they had a radar gun setup with a digital display to show the speed down the 3rd drop. They had a contest, I had the fastest speed for the day (54.7 km/h) and won lunch at one of the restaurants in WEM.

For the last 22 years I thought it would be amazing to ride one of the yellow sleds from Thunderbolt down Nessie's Revenge (don't think the Sky Screamer slide would be wide enough to accomodate the sled). That would be intense!!! You would have only a fraction of a second to bail from the sled at the bottom, or die crashing into the stairs at the end of the splashdown pool, or the cabanas..
