  • This is awesome! Who is that smooth drummer?

  • This is just incredibly good....

  • OMG, i love so fucking much this song *o*

  • Let's think. Who's a better singer and more interesting, Tom Jones or Justin Bieber?

  • @tiptoe221 Do you really need to think????

    =D

  • Well I'm there...I'm female and I'll be 50 in August. Morst the pity I was only two at the time.

  • Tom nicked Johnny Kidd's act.

  • he owns this fucking stage!!!

  • @thesortsakis Watch your language please.

  • @lajmh i should call you names now because is rediculous what you replied but i wiil hold my self and ask you kindly.just tell me, what on the earth erged you to reply to my comment.realy??why are you being such a troll??

  • @thesortsakis Can you mind your language on Youtube please.

  • @MGVaughan1986 whatever man you have a serious problem

  • TOM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just love this song

  • yesterday i turn on the tv and was this on the screen!! love the song

  • One of the few straight, macho guys who'd unabashedly dance like hell.

  • TOM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah !!!

  • Chris Slade on the drums rulezzzzzzzz

  • @Trakkiefy WOW !! I didnt recognize him,. so young !!!

  • @Trakkiefy

yes... listen If I Had You, ( Moj Video, You Tube) Chris perform drums miniature, opposite rhytm

  • They Rock!

  • Is Ritchie Blackmore in this video? (About 0:15) I know he was on the recording

  • This Welshman Jones says, "rock on, brother"!

  • Good band.....very good band...!!!!!!!

  • i need to dance like that

  • MASTER............

  • Those Welshmen....they got something..

  • Man...what a throw back...

  • Why did they cut his nose off after this? Why did he let them?

  • Kick ass band. The drummer really puts it together (I think he went on to fame) and lead guitair rocks!

  • Tom is an all-time GREAT ENTERTAINER!!! for sure ... he is truly amazing!!! I love this video from 1964 ... grew up with Tom Jones!!!! Such a treat!!!

  • I saw him with my parents at a night club in Cherry Hill, NJ and it was unbelievable. I was maybe 13 and all I remember was women throwing there panties on stage. What a job he and Engelbert had.

  • Pure sex even in 1964:)

  • odd how 5 years later they had "IN COLOR" :P

  • Just saw him 2 wks ago in Naples FL. Still unbelieveable, wish he had sang more of his old stuff but he is promoting his newest CD. Just to breathe the same air for 2 hrs was enough.

  • Nicht gut. Stupide.

  • In this older show, he looks so much younger.

    :)

  • Tom is 24 years old in this video. His voice is strong...............just like it is today at age 70! GO TOM!!!

  • Finally get to see Tom Jones, he'll be in Naples 4/25 and I have tickets! Cannot wait. Loved him since I bought his first album in 1967. Bucket List.....check!!

  • Geronimo Doctor ! :P

  • My all time favourite....Tom Jones

  • Wow! This is like....rock....from a Tom Jones?? :p Awesome!

  • Tom Jones comes from an era of singers who are genuinely authentic. Maybe he never wrote his own songs, but he was never autotuned, and as far as I know he never lipsinced his songs while doing all that dancing...

  • @Jakathera /watch?v=VtknX95emMQ

  • :D

  • Helluva performence from a helluva singer. Tom recorded an even better version with Joe Meek which came out on a French EP together with the wondrous Lonely Joe. Tom recorded seven tracks at Joes RGM studio in 1963 as Tommy Scott and the Senators but Joe was too busy with no-talents like Heinz - one of many opportunities that slipped through his fingers. Tom was at No 1 when Joe took his life in 1967.

  • @Mr3sheds

At that time Tom has recorded a series of original Milsovih hits, and many of them, perhaps the best, the rest in the shade ... Little by little, If I Had You, Hide and Seek, Smile... and other ...lost diamonds

  • @Mr3sheds The RGM version was also released on a US Tower 45. Super hard to find. Way better than the Decca version. Good B-side too. However I think this live version is the coolest, the band are killing it! Chris Slade, awesome drummer!

  • Those people really can't dance.

  • I don't know why but it just cracks me up when I see 0:11-0:13 he looks like hes trying to act goofy but cool at the same time, I find that extremely adorable...if only male artists now could dance for the fun of it and not just to look cool I'm sure they would get a lot more fans.

  • is that chris slade from ac/dc drumming

  • This song is soo awesome! :D

  • That is one solid bass line, that bass player is "in the groove".

The guitar player is a swingin' cat too. the whole band is tight, check out the key change at 02:12

  • he gives me "Chills and Fever!"

  • @tavo88spurs same in England, this clip is 47 years old

  • Notice how these are all youngsters rocking and rolling yet they are all nicely dressed in suits and dresses. I love it ... that kind of class is just about gone in America

  • Top stuff, thanks so much for posting this brilliant piece of rock history. Anybody know what happened to the band - they're very good!

  • "your fired" 1:31 good to see mr. Sugar enjoys a twirl

  • That was one fine man specimen in his day....unfortunately I was born in 1964 and missed out on so many fabulous-looking male entertainers. Now we have people like Kid Rock (gross!) Justin Beiber (a baby) and assorted rappers and others that do nothing for me. I wish I could go back to the 60's and be a groupie ;~)

  • @whatanightmare1 all is not lost,,see Andy Probyn,,hes goona be big like elvis and tom in a yummy bundle,,,so sexy and sings like no body,,,,we in canada have the next big star, and he gets mobed by fans,,hes startin out way to cool....go Andy

  • If you don't like this, we will collectively buy you a one way ticket to Garbage Island.

  • This video is most popular with:

    Gender Age

    Male 45-54

    Female 45-54

    Male 55-64

Well I'm 16 but I love this musics!

  • @Kation666 Sheeeeeiiiit niiiigggggaaa, I ain't no 45. god damn, where u from ho? I'm a very plentiful 29.

  • "black" sound on white man. Everything is perfect within this.

  • now this is what i'm talk'n bout: the great music of the '60's! =0D

  • what a cool song.Very MODS :)

  • Dig this song....If I had been a teeny bopper in Tom's day I would have twirled my panties up to the stage...

  • LOL It's so funny that all the people are dancing so polite and conservative, but TJ is going crazy and dancing his ass off

  • I actually like this version better than the recorded one. I think if he would've recorded it this way it would've been a bigger hit. :)

  • @marymary770 I thought exactly the same thing! I think it is more passionate.

  • Enjoy it since there aren't many videos of Tom moving like only he could move (and I am an Elvis fan). They made them both hold those pelvic muscles in check and the BBC banned Tom for several years for his GYRATIONS.

  • Oops. I meant 2:03. Bop bop, that kind of thing.

  • @tashmoo711 Actually at 2:01 dam!! :)

  • Right at about 3:06. Bop! Bop!

  • this is first Tom Jones chart ? USA #125 ?

  • ok, i think i'm gettin a little chills and fever myself!!

  • Soooo Sexy.... Purrrrr!

  • Oh Baby!...Swing those hips..

  • Tom had bionic fingers. When he snapped his fingers it could literally be heard over an ampified guitar, and you CAN actually hear it in this video. I remember reading once that they tested his finger snaps at 100 decibels which is about as loud as a jet engine. 120 hearing damage occurs.

  • chris slade looks like doctor who/ matt smith

  • fudge.

  • Toms erste Singel! Beautiful

  • HAHA former AC/DC drummer chris slade is in this video with HAIR!

  • the song is good but i dont think its right for tom the instrument playin is great who were these guys that drummer is pretty nice playig

  • THIS IS GREAT!!!!

  • Had one of his first albums in about 1966...I am certain there was a song called "Little Black Book" on it but I cannot find it anywhere??

  • mm mmm can he move

  • No wonder my grandmother was a Tom Jones fan.

  • The one..the only...Tom Jones!!!!!!!

  • the one n only

  • Tom, is a real, natural 'Rock n; Roll ' chimp ! Damn good, I would never have thought. him, such.

  • Chris Slade on drums is now the drummer for The Michael Schenker Group on European tours - A world away from this kind of music.

  • Happy Birthday Tom for next Monday, (JUNE 7).

I am male, and if you were my boyfriend in any point in your history, even though I am straight, I would have given you a bigger kicking than Mel, you tart!

But that's Western Life fot you.

Have a pint of Welsh Bitter ale on me Thomas, and a babysham/triple vodka for Mel - too right! : ).

    Well lasted pal.

  • @closertofiftythanyew sorry, forgot to mention the wheelchair botherer is 70 next Monday.

Keep your daughters away from him, whatever you doo! : )

  • can see now how he got fans and became famous, 1964. waawwoooow..

  • Fantastic complete change of the original Ronnie Love hit, atomic Jones style and drummer Chris Slade miniature..but the Decca heads ( or Joe Meek ) are pushed single in the drawer

  • If you notice at 1:15 and at 3:06, the camera focusses on his crotch (purposely, perhaps?) and you can see his privates hanging down the left leg of his pants; he was legendary for other 'gifts' in addition to his musical talent. I agree with levita busman - it makes you want to rub one out....

  • @barenuku We're not blind, honey.

  • @barenuku Check out Mamie Van Doren's website and her night with Tom. Legendary only in the sense of what he stuffed in there......Nancy Wilson (Supremes) backs up the story. Unfortunate, but true. *sigh*.

  • @blueberrycobbler I think you mean "Mary" Wilson.

  • @neneshubby ....lol - yes, I do. Thank you for the correction.

  • This is an excellent video. The quality is fantastic and Tom is just SEXY!

  • oh this is great!!

  • hahahahaha, i love this video...tom is the best...in '60, '70, '80, '90 and today

  • It was so cool to see this old footage! Um... WOW. He could sing the phone book and sound incredible.

  • The Tiger....rarrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

  • first single issued on the english Decca ca-talogue in 1964, it did not chart in Britain nor

in Japan(London King record)but was a top 10 in Australia(#9) I've heard that only 8 copies were sold...in Wales. Now it is piece of collection

  • Cor blimey .. need a lie down after that..

  • @doristhedonkey Me too! Whew.

  • what... to rub one out?

  • Tom was perform version with changed rhythm from original Ronnie Love version.. Tom was changed song from blues in atomic rock , but unfortunately in 60's didn't charted ..but with next rhythm modification, of Wagoner song G.G.Grass of home, Tom was jumped on the top

  • This was Toms first single, OK?

First hit was Its Not Unusual, not a green green grass of home, and it aint rhytmic lol...

  • yes, Its Not Unusual was before G.G.G of home, but Its Not Unusual was full original G.Mill hit. Rhythm modifications was on the covers, Chills, G.G.G. of home, 16 Tons.. Witch Queen of New Orleans . and more

  • Yes!!!!! its correct !!!!

  • @dimges

  • @dimges WHAT?

  • Chris Slade (drums) with hair :-D

  • Tom Jones is surely the sex bomb! ;)

  • Merci... Amour old Tom Jones

  • Elvis´ pelvis: GO HOME!!

  • this is a cool song i like his music

  • I believe that is the late, great Mickey Gee on guitar

  • @drumminman58 Mickey Gee on lead guitar, Dave Cooper on rhythm, Vernon Hopkins on bass and Chris Rees on drums. Vernon later changed his surname to Mills and Chris to Slade.

  • Great video.

Wish the camera was on the guitar player during that wicked solo though!

  • I think that Tom''s singing talent gets overlooked so much it is a shame. This is particularly early in his career but his vocal control is awesome as is his range. This song has three key changes. This is a difficult song to sing. Thanks Tom for all the great music and memories.

  • This song makes me wild and crazy.

I love Tom Jones voice and his dance moves.

  • Oh my dam! Cool Cat can only sing with soul but his dance moves...hot...what a package, great voice, handsome and a shaker and mover. He's def. underestimated, better than Elvis. Wish other men can dance like him. He's a diamond in the rough.

  • i love jones...but......he is no elvis tom just got you a bit horni use your head elvis was king

  • You're right...he's no Elvis. And Elvis is NO Tom!

And even though Elvis is considered "King", they BOTH get me equally horny! I guess it's a "chick thing", Bobby6900 (if you''re a guy), after all. I never thought Tom's sexiness, masterful vocal prowess and dancing ability, took a single thing away from Elvis or visa versa. There's always room for more SEXY, drop dead, handsome men that make us women swoon. No need to "use your head" as you are advising. This is a no brainer.

  • You're so right sharmess!

  • Does anyone know if he still does this song nowadays?

  • Holy crap Conan O'Brian can play the drums

  • ha ha good one

  • LOL!

  • I'm not sure but i think thats actually chris slade, the former ac/dc drummer of the early 90's

  • Yes, that is indeed Chris

  • No surprise. Jimmy Page reportedly served up the riffing solo on "It's Not Unusual". TJ, the Yardbirds, and all

    shared common ground back then.

That's what made that Brit pop sound

    so powerful.

  • Wow, he's come a long way since then!

  • The drummer is Chris Slade, later in AC/DC (without hear).

    Great drummer, band and singer.

  • this man make me soo horny, sorry , is true

  • dull crowd.... Shake it Tom!

  • He certainly makes me hot and bothered

  • @mrslovesit oh yeah

  • Tom....U ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im a new fan of tom who is the backing group and his names i wanna know please thanks and very good video!

  • there was Squires, Tom's group, ( they start as Senators in 1962); drummer was famous Chris Slade ( later in groupAC/DC and R'Roll Hall of Fame), listen his drummer's miniature in "TOM JONES - What I'd Say (1964)" and original Squires version of "B" side of G.G.G. of Home, > " If I Had You" and full album 13 Smash Hit, of course and oldies song, (Joe Meek)

  • this live version is so much better than the studio version- none of those shit backing vocals.

Respect to Tom Jones, completely underrated R&B singer

Shame about the last 40 years though

  • tom jones is a swing artist, some of his music is in other genre but he is primaryly swing

  • lovely stuff

  • Huippubiisi... !

  • woah he looks so diff!!! deff improved wiv age me thinks!

  • one take Tom at his best

  • Matt Smith (11th doctor) on drums?

  • he used to be so hot

  • f-in AWESOME

  • The dancers are so.....wooden! Hysterical.

  • Saw him last night. He's still got unbelievable chops. Amazing show.

  • Awesome song! Shame this earlier stuff isn't as well known as his later releases...its a great!

  • OHHH¡¡¡¡¡ "THIS IS TOM JONES" Que hermoso recuerdo y tan joven, Realmente sorprendente tanto talento. Su VOZ es y será unica. GRANDE POR SIEMPRE......... Esta con el GRUPO THE SENATOR?

  • fukcing tight.

  • jones is a badass , love itt

  • good song

  • any particular significance of the candle being blown out at the beginning..?

  • i know right

  • Lead guitar was Mickey Gee who died on January 21st. 2009 aged 64.

Mickey was a great R'n'R guitarist and an accomplished finger picker. After Tom, Mickey went on to play for many artists including Joe Cocker, Dave Edmunds and Shakin' Stevens. Amongst many other gigs Mickey was a member of Willie and the Poor Boys with Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman, Andy Fairweather-Low and Geraint Watkins amongst others

Mickey will forever be remembered as the Guitarist's Guitarist.

    Rock on Mickey!

  • thanks for information but what is of other musician??

  • There's another great video of Micky Gee on YouTube with Dave Edmunds, Pino Palladino and others from about 1999. Awesome guitar player. RIP.

  • Tom Jones was the best in his class.Amazing ability.

  • Cosy...

  • Damn hot hot hot where'd you find this? This cat is one of the best to be in the game period hands down.

  • The Welsh Elvis!!! this man is great!

  • Tom Jones & The Squires rockzz!!!!

I rather love this kind of him than as ordinary known mainstreamly Tom Jones...

  • Yeah!!!!!

The best...nadie va a acercarse si quiera a tener su voz

  • El mejor cantante del mundo !

y con sus Gritos de joven asi lo caracteriza

  • Yeah you go Tom! Love the groove and the bass is very cool. NIce sound.

  • this fucks ass, man! It's great!

  • lol at chris slade

  • Yeah...he's better without the hair...

Not that he looks bad with it...but that bit at the end reminds me just how much long hair is a hinderance to drummers.

  • wow..its kinda a honer seeing that..shit that was on 9rs b4 i was even a sperm lol

tom rocks, an hell he looks diF obiousley! :)
