You would be able to use it for the PS3 because all you have to do with the Xbox 360 is plugin the optic cable in the back of the xbox. If you do the same with the PS3 it should work but, i don't think you will be able to talk which defeats the purpose of playing with friends so... If you want it for the sound go ahead and buy iyt otherwise, if you want it for chat aswell, i think you should go with turtle beach's products such as the PX5.

2 questions.

1) is this headset usb powered or like powered by batteries or is it charged by the dock?

2) As for the voice, does it play the voice directly through the speakers? or would i have to play the voice through the tv speakers like with the steelseries siberia headset?

@melittleflower If you was woundering about Razer. yes you are right. Great company. I have been buying there gaming products for pc for the last 5 years and they have NEVER let me down at all. Bought 3 headsets off them 2 mice 2 keyboards and son to buy this headset.

And bass boost is a completely underrated feature. I do not know why Astro did not equip their mixamp OR their headset with it. It's not a good entertainment headset, period if their logic is "It's a tournament grade peripheral" (I guess pros can't hear their teammates with extra bass on) Because the damn thing is more expensive than a console.

That is pretty damn sad. At least I can use any headset I want...Mic is just an issue now. C'mon Astro :I

@YourQualityIsPoor I have not owned any of those headsets, but I have tried most of em. I'm personally satisfied with the Tritton ax180. I listen to bass rich music, but I'm somewhat aware that if bass is overwhelming in a gaming headset, it can potentially drown out other fields of sound. If Razer wants to get it right the first time, they need to make them comfortable. IMO one of the first rules.

@hmmjudge Absolutely. That's definitely a good point. Comfort is key, and I think they should try to go for a design that no one else has done for their next iteration. I have never seen ear cooling, but I bet it's possible!

Wanting more, I tried going with another Turtle Beach headset to combine it with the Mixamp- The HPX series (with the gimmicky multiple speakers in each earcup). It was a piece of trash, and the X41 still trounced it. Then as a last resort I went with the Sennheiser 650s and coupled it with the mixamp. The only problem is the external mic by Icemat (Do not buy Zalman.) is not optimized for the Xbox- so most external mics for PCs are trash on the 360 with the mixamp.Someone invent something!

Hmm. Their PSP earbud/mic combo was terrible. I hope this headset is much better. After dealing with Triton 720s (and their annoying ultra-sensitive Xbox 360 mic cable), Turtle Beach X41s and Astro A40s- Well I was expecting the Astros to win from all the hype. They didn't. Their sound quality was not satisfying to an audiophile like myself. The X41s replicated bass much better and had an overall smoother sound than the a40 wired headset- which sounded completely subdued.

but about bass in game i dont like it to much not because you cant hear teamates because that gets louder when you boast bass but stuff like if you playing cod series if you boast the bass you wont hear stuff like footstep until there right ontop of you i dont even have my headset up half volume when i play because it just to loud and you kinda loose concentration ih sound whoring

That's definitely true, gospel. I just wish they didn't force no-bass on you on the astros. I like having the choice. You're right about CoD though! that's the only time I don't need bass as much, but for single player I love sound whoring.

Especially for movies :)

it'll be nice if they can make a headset that can use on bluetooth mp3 players as well as gaming and for mobile phones with out losing quality. but that one looks nice it'll be better if you can take the mic off and use it to listen to mp3 players.
