That was 1996. The Wings didn't play well in those playoffs. They almost lost to Winnipeg in the first round, then they almost lost to St. Louis. And then they finally got knocked off by Colorado. The '97 Wings were the total opposite. They played awesome hockey. That was the year they finally learned how to win.
