This red London Fuzz is a germanium model so you can't really compare it with the BC108, which is silicon. Germanium for David's 1968-70 tones and silicon for his 1971-75 tones.
loving the bridge pickup sound! My texas specials are really sick but my bridge pickup is too thin for my style. I'm looking for something a little thicker...
Hi Bjorn: you say "As talked about above, the best match for these pedals is a powerful tube amp cranked really hard but you can compensate this by adding an overdrive pedal after the fuzz like a Boss BD-2, Tube Driver or Colorsound Powerboost. The essence here is to use a transparent pedal. A Tube Screamer as similar will colour too much. "
Would the BBE Green Screamer be to much...not sure what bidget model you recommend for a smaller amp.... Would you recommend The London Fuzz II?
The BBE is a Tube Screamer clone and these have a bit too much mid range to give you the desired effect. The Boss BD-2 should be within a budge range I think. You can also check out the vintage overdrive tube driver clone from Behringer.
Vintage type effects like fuzz, treble boost etc needs carbon batteries to sound their best. Alkaline or power adapters makes the pedal sound thinner and brighter... not too much but noticeable.
The clip doesn't do it justice obviously but it sounds very nice on the Marshall too. Cleans up a bit on the Sound City but that's mostly due to a higher volume.
Brilliant demo, great playing.

thank you Bjorn! This helped me so much to find out how the bridge between Green is the Colour and CWTAE is played
great playing by the way, very Gilmour-like

It's a 1982 5210 solid state 50w. It was a short run of JCM800 amps in solid state combo versions. Sadly deleted but awesome tone.

ive been looking at those and have heard they have smaller frets than usual. is it bothersome to you or can't notice?

practice :) It's really easy once you get the hang of it, and adds so much more expression to your playing
good luck.

VINTAGE TUBE OVERDRIVE VT911
Classic Vacuum Tube Overdrive
I could also use this in my line up for Wish You Were Here & Dark Side Applications on a smaller amp (Blues Jr.)
Thinking about getting the Peavey Classic 50....to my ear sounds quite close to the 59 Bassman..... Your input in top notch!
shineonprickley1975 2 years ago
The Peavey is a great amp. Very close to the old Fenders.

Why Non Alkaline Batteries for Stomp Boxes...changes sound noticeably?
I should buy the carbon...cheap batteries...any you suggest
