@udipta21 Tilke isn't building circuits, he builts lunapark venues. Because F1 is a bad joke these days, and legendary circuits like the old Hockenheimring, Imola, Osterreichring, Indianapolis and Fuji don't belong to bernie's F1 :/
@nealogz well , 25 races first of all is too expensive ... Then its the problem of transporting ... How about the track looks like after a few crashes they made it shorter to make it more safe !
Really makes me sad too see this video! What a great track it was. I mean the new layout isnt "bad" But its nothing on this, Same with all the new sanitized circuits. Dont change the cars, Just change the tracks back!
@PineTreeAndCone The reason for everything changing is for "safety" but they say this new layout is more fan friendly, the cars stay more in the arena section of the track giving fans an easy way to see the cars during the whole lap rather than parts of the track. I think it's BS.
@PineTreeAndCone i think because the spectator in Hockenheim saw the cars not often. The Track is to long today, the FIA want only short circuits - for commerc :)
if this track was still in use in 2004 (of course it wasn't) they would have gone even quicker 19,000rpm 900= bhp. Pizzonia in Italy hit 229mph on the straights or 369kmh
@rahulpower Whats changed u ask? well haven't you seen the current layout when they changed the track in 2002. All these long straights are gone. The character of the track is gone when it used to run through the forest. Now its just like any other Tilke track.. nothing special. Just like current Nurburgring is nothing compared to the classic track. I some times wish I could back to '60s and relive all those great tracks. If you get a chance watch Grand Prix starring James Garner.
@MusicVideoJudge1 Sorry mate, but I don't fully agree with you. It were the cars that were really dangerous without any safety standards or measures. If you drive a car of 50's or 60's in today's Monza or Monaco you are not any less likely to get killed if you crash. Besides they could have improved the safety standards on those old track layouts without introducing current mickey mouse layouts.
@asiwal Thats what i mean there. The fia thought it was "dangeruos". Well at least thats what they told all the fans. They realy don't care if a driver dies. As long as they make money. Greedy basterds.
@MusicVideoJudge1 OK I guess I just overlooked your double quotes. But yeah you are right, FIA/Bernie has ruined the sport. I'd rather see one lap driven by the likes of Clark or Rindt then a whole race done by the current lot.
@asiwal I wish tilke would have left tracks alone. Especaily barcalona. That was uncalled for with that las chicane. Imola i can understand be cause of ayrton. That was just i gues nescecery. And the got rid of the chicane before the(dont know what the name is of the two coners but here goes nothing) the dubble sweep. But it still sucks. They need to bring back the monaco with out the chicane at the tunnel and make like 88 with the tunnel exit and made you dare to hit that chicane like a sweep.
I live in Germany, near Hockenheim, and the reason why they change the Track was because the Laptime was to long for an Modern F1 Racetrack, and the Fans who pay much Money to see the Cars, saw the Cars 44 times only for a moment.
Now the fans see the Cars 67 times, and can watch the Cars over a big part of Racetrack.
That was the only reason, and had nothing to do with dangerous.
i miss the old hockenheim and V10 engine

Most of the spectators still can't see anything because the pit garages and buildings are in the way.
I think they built one grandstand after the reconfiguration. A lot of good that did.
