I used to love this game! Could never remember what it was called. But I loved how if you didn't blow up the missile it would blow up in the back ground on the next stage
@S0ryiu Storywise, yes, but Metal Warriors wins it based on it's inclusion of multiplayer and greatly varied mech designs and playstyles in my opinion. I owned both, and they had their strong and weak points. Both great games in their own respect.
was there a game with a similar looking robot on the Genesis? I remember my friend showing it back to me way back when but I can't track it down. I don't think this is it, the first level had a black sky in the background, character looked similar though.
@Daemonocracy You're thinking of Target Earth. In Japan, both Target Earth and Cybernator were part of the Assault Suits series of video games (Target Earth was Assault Suits Leynos; Cybernator was Assault Suits Valken. )
this looks like front mission where is the 2 player game one I'm looking for? How come there is only one kind of suit? The stage looks like it's limited...
Believe this or not, in order to get the strongest weapon in the game, which is the Napalm Gun, you must go through this level WITHOUT shooting at ANYTIME until you reach the boss! Now although you will obtain the Napalm Gun after doing this, you must also beat the next level after this WITHOUT dying because you WILL lose it if you do! If you want to be able to upgrade it, you must beat that level without both dying AND shooting until, of course, you reach the boss!
Did I ask for a monotonous elucidation? The napalm gun is for bitches and takes the challenge out of the game. Instead of using capital letters and exclamation points to reinforce your incoherent squabble, aim to construct a comprehensive sentence; illiterate donkey.
@ablokenamedbob He wasn't talking exclusively to you. While we're giving orders to strangers on the Internet, lose the attitude, for everyone's benefit. Social capital is priceless. Incidentally, that is an incorrect use of the semicolon.
@whatthefuckisnttaken I have a nice big set of testicles. Incidentally, you can wrap your lips around them. Incidentally, the comment was addressed to me, thus, exclusive to me. Incidentally; incidentally. Cocksucker.
@whatthefuckisnttaken Youtube does go through format changes from time to time, you ignorant cunt. Sift through the comment section; you will notice conversations taking place without anything being addressed visibly. This was never about winning or losing, it was about you sucking on my balls.
Amazing game! What! Clearing the stage without a shot or destroying the Boss's cannons? You must be going for the Napalm Flame thrower there :P I've never finished the game without it ;)
I don't. Some levels are just too easy with it. I like collecting the various weapons and upgrading them to mix things up. It's more challenging and fun. Also, as powerful as the Napalm gun is, it's not fun to use and it doesn't "feel" like a real weapon. I love how all the other weapons are animated.
I see you where trying to get the napalm gun. I still have yet to get the good ending without it lol...
I have a snes emulator installed in my Xbox with lots of classics in it including this one, so I still play the heck out of it now and then. One of my favorites along with Super Metroid, Castlevania 4 and Contra 3. Good times...
Cybernator ruled the planet, it's one of those games that, much like Legend of Dragoon (PS1) DESERVES a sequel that will probably never happen. I was a freshman in High School when this came out..... I still own it.
I never played them myself though so i don't know how close they are to Cybernator. But I do know they are in the same series (Assault Suit in Japan); Cybernator was Assault Suits Valken and Target Earth was the first Assault Suit Leynos game. Leynos 2 is Japanese only I think. I do recommend finding a video of the gameplay of the Leynos games to see how close it is to Cybernator.
By the way: by watching this video you get a clue how to activate the ultra-strong napalm-gun for the rest of the game: don't shoot any enemy except of the final boss (but not the moving side guns!)
SNES + Konami = Instant win
