I find it interesting that neither of my picks were even mentioned. My first was Think Twice, for early hand accel and a mana outlet for downtimes, and Ambush Viper (or as I like to call him, Ninja Trouser Snake, because 'he shows up out of nowhere and ****s you up'), since it lets you bait your opponent into attacking with their best creature(s), and then punishes them for it. Combat Step tricks are never bad, especially when on a stick. Instead of my picks, he talks about...Gutter Grime...

pick 1 pack 1 should actually be prey upon. Mentor is good, but he is no bomb and no removal. Mentor also makes you draft a certain way. You are going to pick up small dudes highly, and go into blue or green. So much commitment for a 2/2 that might draw you some cards is usually wrong. If you can pick up some white two power flyers, Mentor is amazing; if you can't, then he fails to impress.

Prey upon doesn't make you draft a certain way, it's solid removal and green is almost always open.

I tend to not dip into any colors early unless I see some really solid cards for a specific color. Bonds of Faith both dips into a color (altough W is good) and isn't as flexible as you first think. Since there are bunch of humans (even when they flip like Delver of Secrets etc.) in the set it doesn't turn into a removal as often as you'd like. So I'd go with the color neutral bomb.

These are some really shitty previews. From what I gathered, all he's going to do is show us pack 1 pick 1 with no slight insight it is as to why its important. I've seen several of the other pros do drafts LIVE, and speak nonstop the entire time. And then they have the nerve to do it for FREE. Do you see the problems here?

i think Bonds Of faith is a good pick, but Bump in the night might be better.

There are pretty much NO black or red cards in this pack, so players drafting after you wont be tempted to go black or red.

Also 6 damage to the face in a single card is awesome, and you ARE likely to get more copies (dare to play 5 or 6 ovs?).

Plus, Curse of Pierced Hart will be pickable when it will get back to you.

Thats why i would take the Bump!

Geist-Catcher's Rig is an easy pick for me here. It's essentially a Flametongue Kavu that only kills fliers, which means it's fantastic.

Personally, I like some hindsight from a more competent player (nothing to remove from Evan), especially in limited since it's a somewhat fresh format.

I would also like to see an "advanced" edition of this video, like "what would you take at the 4th pack, given that you took X and Y cards". THAT's where most of the draft mistakes take place, IMO.

You shouldn't feel stupid for taking Gutter Grime. Until you draft the format a few times. I also chose Bonds of Faith but had you posted this vid just after ISD was released, I probably would have picked the Gutter Grime as well. It seems like a bomb, but usually sucks for all the reasons you gave, and if it gets removed, you lose all your tokens.

Pros have their own groups, where they train their drafting skills and come up with new techniques.

Casuals on the other way don't really play limited that much - and even if they play, they wouldn't pay money to see such videos.

In my opinion, this how should be free, and even then, it's not really helping to anyone.
