  • Wow you guys. She's just feeling the music. Playing music is a very passionate thing. Is she suppose to stay stiff like a robot with no emotion? I don't think so. I play piano and guitar and I move like that myself. This young lady is extremely talented.

  • i play piano myself (10 years) and during some pieces with the right flow I sway around like she does too, if it fits. it just feels natural.

  • Beautiful playing and by all means........if it's natural, and doesn't impede the quality of the sound or ability to produce the technique needed to make the sound, rather.......then by all means MOVE!!! It's as natural as our love of dance from infancy! It's ingrained from infancy, has everything to do with our personalities, and the psychology of music.....many of us talk with hands......musicians listen, feel...and breathe the music through our hands...some need our bodies! Just DO IT!

  • Beautifully playing, Mariko..

  • i like this piece so much... i heard the best version from pollini... she's doing great as well...

  • Well...body language is NOT necessary, but not a fault neither. Many of pianists do not move that much, look Van Cliburn for example. It 's a matter of personality and has nothing to do with the quality of playing!

  • ...nice.....!!

  • ...rubbish. She has a fine technique with a gorgeous sound and a wonderful variety of tone colour, otherwise she couldn't have played it as beautifully as this.

  • Geourgeous sound?

    FIN TECHNIQUE ????????

Ohh yteahhhh moving back and forth.... and tourn ariund herself . It has a name: A LACK OF SELF CONTROL.

    LOL

You don´t know what you talking about.

Her tehcnique is not completely bad . AND i wrote: INTERESTING POTENTIAL which is not exactly great playing . Do you undrstnad what i mean?

And also she can save those silly faces she make at playing for a different ocasion, but not for playing.

i am tired to see how teachers allow puplis make

    NEXT

  • stupidities. <but more amazing is how the audience like to see silly and cursi expressionas which are completely no musical.

This girl just has to observe for 3 days Michelangelli videos.........and i think she will feel very embarrased when she observe her videos again.

Her movements are really disgusting. She looks like she have an orgasm. BTW that´s not bad, but not playing piano please.

    lokopìano

  • ...it's fine to have a preference for how someone should play, but to ridicule someone's technique because s/he moves around a lot is idiotic. Lang Lang moves around a lot - are you going to say he needs to improve his technique???

I don't care how someone plays as long as it sounds good - and it sounds very good here.

"You don't know what you talking about"

I have absolutely nothing to prove to a charlatan such as you.

  • Ok my dear..........

    No way. You don´t understand.

Be happy whit your way of thunking.

    Just one thing :

She has talent, her sound is OK. And to be an Asian pianist she is good.

BUT she is not more than that.

Las advice to you : Watch Claire Huangci and you´ll understand what i am talking about.

Concerning LON LON , WONTON orlang lang, he is just a piece of shit and here i will not speak about that thing , Go to the WONTON places and you will see my opinion on that. CHARLATAN? ...

    NEXT

  • I am anything you can say but very far than charlatan. In this moment i am giving a seminar focossed on technique. A thing which is extremely obscure to more than 80% of pianists despite the piano exist more than 200 years as an invention. The reason is so simple: The piano mechanism is hiden . You have to open the lid and some pieces of the fornituure to observe and understand why it works.

With the string instruments the phenomena is different becuase the 2Mechanism is at your sight

    NEXT

  • anytime you play it . For this reason the empirism in string instruments is very small. In piano is too big . For this reason we observe instead of pianists...a lot of clowns. Whatch Michelangelli and learn and understnad what i am talking about. Do the same with Argerich, etc.

    "YOu have nothing to prove"..LOL

So did i asking you to prove something to me? Come on. You probably have to learn a lot from me. Of course you have not idea who i am. .

    NEXT

  • Just a tip : You say the forth and back and the turn around has nothing to do unless the pianist plays good ? And don´t you think if the pianists who plays good don´t do those stupidities could improve their playing maybe?. Just go to any anathomy textbook and study the function of the middle ear with all its parts and micro organs and the function it has to do with equilibrium and perception of sound,. and how the brain procesed it . No

  • more information. I teach that and already you recieved more information about than you deserve.

If you born ignorant is not problem because everybody born ignorant, but if you persist in it, you deserve to be an ignorant.

    Bye wise man

    lokopiano

  • " am anything you can say but very far than charlatan. In this moment i am giving a seminar focossed on technique"

there. you proved my point. i don't even need to read anything else.

a non-pianist talking about piano technique. one of my absolute pet-peeves. nothing but petulance, arrogance, idiocy...to sum up, bull***t.

  • Read poor arrogant and asshole.

I have no eason to make a lie on this theme. and more when i have an ID which is hidden and lokopiano is a virtual name. So use the one neurone (from the two you have) you have in your monkey brain brain. The last: O told you to read about the middle ear . After that you would make a discussion with me about it ( of course in the case you are a pianist . Otherwise it makes non sense), anyway it will be too late becuase

    NEXT

  • communication with is finished. You got the oportunity. So too late dear asshole.

Remain ignorant as all people like you. Maybe you are the brother, fiance, or teacher LOL , of that girl...LOL.

Again: Watch Yuja Wang , And mostly Claire Huangci. They are real great level pianiost and with PERGECT technique . AND they don´t play like monkeys.

    LOL.

BYE . Not more answers to you.

    LOKOPIANO

  • It´s up to you t believe me or not .

Anyway i don´t care about your minimal thinking.

    lokopiano

  • ...I can't help but point this out in amusement: You said you don't want to talk to me anymore, but now you said it's up to me.

As has been obvious to me, you have no real knowledge of worth to impart to the musical world (perfect technique? that's a term used almost universally by every music critic, not by real musicians!). I am therefore not interested in having any musical arguments with you - and vice versa it seems at first, but I don't know now.

  • So very easy my dear.............. just don´t write to me. As simple as that.

And if you are not happy with that , go to the closest Zoo to your house , and observe the monkeys behavior to improve your technique,

    With love.

    lokopiano.

  • It's called spell-check. Do it. Could you at least look at your grammar and spelling before posting your "witty criticisms."

  • No i can´t do it. I don´t care about english more than a tool to communicate.

If you don´t understand what i write, is a pitty.çlokopiano.

  • If you can't use the proper way of saying things, just shut up. Or in your case just shut down your computer! Body languages are necessary. Your username suits you. Lokopiano. Loko means Crazy. And your crazy as a crazy monkey! go Winchelle!

  • Oh yes?????????

so i am waiting a RATIONAL explanation why "Body langauges" are neccesary...........otherwise you are not only a subjetive person, but a real charlatan.

    lokopiano

  • And how did I become a charlatan? You are talking nonsense. Body languages are necessary in playing the piano because it's one way of expressing the emotions found in the music. Technically speaking you're the charlatan! Because you're trying to say that you have more knowledge than you really actually possess. hmp. Amp. How about you? Give me a coherent, logical, luciddemythologized, demythologisedintelligent, reasonable, sane explanation! >:|

  • Maybe I'm not as good as you play. But what you believe about body movements not being necessary, that where we may contradict.

  • In fact, body movements while playing the piano is actually part of the PSCYHOLOGY of music.

P.S. I think you need to see a pyschologist. You're brain is loko. >:) I'm not trying to dislike you. You just said things that could;ve offended others. If you will say anything bad, just say it in a good manner. OK. And I respect you, because accdng. to your profile you're 108 yrs. old.

  • What a surprise.

This girl has very interesting potential. He makes you to stay and watch untill she finish her playing. That´s more than much, specially coming form an Asian pianist.Same problem. People like her, need a different kind of teaching to achive bigger goals. To many extra- musical things like too much unncessary movements, and bad technique, but good musical direction. She is pushing the keyboard instead on hanging from it. The piano bench is too high, and she plays too high.

  • What does being Asian have to do with one's talent? You're such a dumb racist.

  • Is very important , becuase for some unexplainble reason most asian pianists play like monkeys.

Just don´t be ungry or be, but after wathing videos of many asian pianists.

    I am not a racists.

Into my favorite pianists are two great asian pianists. And by coincidence they play like humans.......with elgance with self control. and no monkey body language.

    Lokopiano

  • Are you a musician or what? Body languages are very very reflexive. Sometimes, they don't even know they're moving. That's how they express. You can't meddle with their ways. It's their life.

  • WHat you say has it own name:

    Lack of self control.

    I´ll give you a tip:

Watch for a week any viseo of Michelangelli, Horowitz, Pollini, Berman, Rubinstein, Argerich, Claire Huangci.

After that week watch your friend Mariko and you´ll understand me.

    lokopiano

  • Those people have reached their peak. Why compare Mariko to such greatest pianists? Do YOU even know how to express? Obviously, you don't. I'll give you a tip, too: leave them be. They need not hear your sarcasm.

  • Don´t be so retarded. I don´t compare those pianists not only with Mariko, but with nobody. They belong to the Parnasumm of the semi Gods.I just say : Observe. piece of crap¡.Let them be?. Are you a mongoloid or what? They obviously will continue with they superb, thinking his teacher SENSEI..is a kind of GOD for them is right and they will continue playing like monkeys. BUT my commnets are addressed to the 1% maybe who have enough intelligence to understand objetive things piece of nothing.

  • What's the point in arguing with you?! So what if you made your point? Do you think that will make you the best piano critique? And do you think the world would be a better place if you were right? Ha! Okay then, play the piano without body movements and let see if you will not have stroke.

  • Her movements are better than watching someone play as stiff as a tree. It's a hard emotion, and hollow. WIth nothing inside at all.

  • So.....you go to the concerts/recitals to watch and no to listen. Right?.

    So.Horowitz had no emotion ..right?

so Michelangelli had no emotion right?.

You are no more idiot , because you dodn´t studied in the idiots conservatory.

    lokopiano

  • What a surprise.

  • Absolutely gorgeous.

  • One of successful creation of great composer. Wery careful interpretation. Thank you very much.

  • Why is this wonderful piece so rarely played ? It's too bad we don't get to hear it more often. I was supposed to learn that one at college, but we changed it for Fantaisie-Impromptu...

  • Very artistically done!

  • FINALLY! i have been looking everywhere for this piece on you tube since july actually! thank you for posting this, it was equisite! :)
