  • Your guitar makes it sound like the audio is coming from an old tape or record player, nice.

  • @NearXLifeXExperience Thank you for your comment and encouragement. Yes, resonator guitars have great tone due to the vibrating aluminum cone inside. Enjoy

  • just sweet

  • @jurgenmanfred Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.

  • pure fucking sweet

  • @jurgenmanfred LOL Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.

  • Great playing love your guitar it has a really great sound like a cross between a regular acoustic and a resaphonic, you played it great.

  • @maxzaxe217 Thank you for your comment. This guitar was built by Schoen guitars. A Turbo Diddley 6. Check out his site. Enjoy.

  • are they lighter strings ? i currently use 12-54's on my electrics ,and 11-48 on my acoustics

  • The strings I use to tune up above standard are a custom set I had made by juststrings. Scale length is definitely a factor for getting the right string tension. Start by using a light acoustic set. If the high string sounds a little thin, add a slightly heavier string. You need to experiment. Every guitar handles the string load differently. Enjoy.

  • what type of slide do you use?

  • @g100chill I mainly use glass slides made from wine bottles. Please visit my friend Greg at bottleneckstore. He makes my signature slide. Currently, I have no inventory, but visit his site for more information. Enjoy.

  • that was great! i played one of those at mccabe's in santa monica, and it was a lot of fun.

  • Thank you for stopping by and posting a comment. Happy Holidays. Enjoy.

  • Oh, very nice!

  • Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.

  • good playing (hey bluesboy :D)

  • Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.

  • Ive been listening to this song a tons the one eric clapton plays on the 2004 crossroads guitar festival and i know its in A but do you know what tuning it is in?

  • Open A tuning is EAEac#e, low to high, but this is a little tough on the guitar neck. It may be better to tune a whole step lower to Open G DGDgbd and place a capo at the second fret. Enjoy.

  • cool dog , hahaa

  • Thank you. Enjoy.

  • you got the M. Waters touch! great song!!

  • Thank you for the kind words. Enjoy.

  • Hey Dude, I dont know about the banjitar but I love the dog.

  • Thank you. The instrument in this video is not a Banjitar. It is a 6 string Resonator Cigar Box Guitar made by Schoen Guitars. I will send you an email with a video attached where I play a Banjitar. Enjoy.

  • I am Kurt's brothera and am lucky to own a three string Turbo Diddley. Even though my skills are limited, I noodle with it almost every day. It was good to see / hear the TD played by a true pro. Superior playing / singing

  • Thank you for your comment. Kurt definately builds a sweet gi-tar! I first heard of Kurt's CBGs when I heard Billy Gibbons playing one on Howard Stern. If you are interested in improving your playing skills, please consider purchasing my Series 1 instructional video CD that is available for sale on ebay. Search: Keni Lee Very reasonably priced. Enjoy!

  • that pretty good icant really play slide guitar for shit, maybe just a couple simple things but it's a lot different then the norm way of playin

  • Thank you. I'm basically playing in a traditional old time style; fingerpicking with my thumb, index and middle fingers in a banjo style, and utilizing open tunings. It is certainly a different approach than using a flat pick. Enjoy.

  • exelente!! muy bueno

    suena muy bien

  • Thank you. Enjoy.

  • hahhah i search bottleneck guitar because i was gonna show some people i was talking to online one and boom i end up at one of your older videos

  • very very cool blues!!!

  • Thank you. Enjoy.

  • Thats nice instrument! Very good playing and singing too.

  • Thank you. It was built by Kurt Schoen of schoenguitars. He calls it a Turbo Diddley 6. Check out his site. He built guitars for Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Robert Plant from Led Zep. Enjoy.

  • i am not really into robert johnson right now, but that was very nice!

  • Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing your videos. I'm sorry, but I can't help you out with the harmonica, but I'm sure if you search youtube, you shouldn't have trouble finding a harmonica player that could give you some tips with Rollin' and Tumblin'. Enjoy.

  • I been to the Delta...I think they might say your music was "Finer n Frog hair" if that makes any sense. You play like you and instrument were old friends. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it

  • Yes it makes sense. It like the expression, Scarce as hen's teeth. lol. Thank you for the kind words. Sitting and playing my guitars have brought me through some dark times in my life. Certainly they have been Good Old friends. Enjoy.

  • why arnt u famous

  • Thank you. Well to become famous takes a lot of self promotion. I don't play on stage or tour much. I like to play on the subway platforms or at festivals where I can mingle with the people. Even though I do enjoy entertaining others, I mainly play to relax and help others learn how to play Bottleneck slide.

  • you can teach me! this is great!

  • Thank you. Yes, I can. The lesson for this song is contained on my Series 2instructional video CD that is available for sale on ebay. Search: Keni Lee

  • Thank you. Please check out the first three tracks of my Cd, Good & Evil. I'll send you some information. Enjoy.

  • you are amazing! do you ever tour? i would love to see that kind of playing live

  • Thank you. Currently, I am not doing any touring. I mainly play on the subway platforms in NYC. It is too hot to play down there in the summer, but now that the weather is cooling, I will be back. I usually like to set up in the mornings about 7AM at the E train platform on Lexington and 53rd street. Soon there will be a documentary video detailing my subway performances. Enjoy.

  • sounds great mate

  • Thank you.

  • yeah... thats the feeling! ;)

  • Thank you.

  • hello,

I have recently become fascinated with resonators and slide playing. Will you be giving lessons available for download or anything. Do you have a web site we can check out. Would love to study up with you.

    thx,

    theRat

  • Thank you. Please consider purchasing my instructional CD that is available for sale on ebay. Just search: Keni Lee This will give you a solid foundation. Please visit my page and click on "Playlists". The videos are organized for better selection. Thank you again for your interest.

  • if you wanna play some blues just make you're hands talk!! nothing more!!!

    Keep Rockin!

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • Love the dogs; mine act the same way when I play the blues.

  • Thank you. I was dog sitting for the dog on the left. Mine is just doing his job, and sleeping it off, after another hard day of "sleeping".

  • i have a version of this tune by eric clapton on an album called me and mr johnson

  • Thank you for your comment. Yes, Mr. Clapton like myself, are big fans of Mr. Johnson. Best Wishes and Happy New Year.

  • That rocks, my friend.

Did you build that resonator yourself? it's purty.

  • Thank you. This guitar is a Turbo Diddley, built by Kurt Schoen. Google him for his website.

  • hi. i enjoy your lessons intensely, can i ask you to explain this jam as you have done with other ones?

  • Thank you. I'll be teaching Rollin and Tumblin aka If I had posession over judgement day, sometime in the future. Please stay tuned.

  • sounds great. love the old delta sound on a such a authntic guitar.

  • Thank you. You should check out the Schoen guitar website. Home of the Turbo Diddley.

  • The pets don't so enthused as I do.

    oh yeah

  • Thank you. You caught them at a rare moment. Usually, they are action packed.

  • You play so sweet. I been thinkin' 'bout gettin' a resonator guitar lately. Which one do you play?

  • Thank you. Please see my "Excellent Ebay Find" video, if you are looking for a good inexpensive model. I also play National,Donmo, and Schoen models.

  • A friend saw my question and pointed me to Schoen. I sent them a note asking how much. Donmo I will have to look into. National is on my list already. I'll check out the video you mention.

    PLAY ON, MAESTRO!!

  • Thank you. Stay in touch and tell me what you finally decided to buy. If there are any questions I can answer, please feel free to ask.

  • Thank you. I'm tuned to Open G (DGDgbd). Just like a 5 string banjo without the low D string. This song sounds good on banjo. Make a video!

  • Thank you for taking the time to share these songs. It is very nostalgic when you sing and play, like being transferred back in time to the Delta where time stands still.

  • Thank you. I love the old time sound. Songs had actual melody lines. The performer and the guitar both sang. Most songs were made up of a funky rythum section alternated between verses. A lot of fun to play.

  • Yeah: play the guitar: easier said than done ;-)

    You definitely do it!!

Again: rocks and your voice is confident and powerful!

  • Thank you. Well I never said it was easy. Lucky for me, I don't mind playing a song over and over, until I get it right.

  • that looks easy

  • Thank you. Remember it is PLAY the guitar, not WORK the guitar. It is all lawn chairs and lemonade!

  • yeah... thats the feeling! ;)

    Nice cat by the way

  • Thank you. Dogs! Not Cats!

  • Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Loved every second.

I had no idea there was so much delta blues on YouTube!

    5/5

  • Thank you. Yes, there is a lot of good Delta blues to be found on youtube.

  • great sound - nice touch on the slide

  • Thank you. I learned slide mainly from attending Bob Brozman seminars. He has unbelievable tone.

  • love it man. you guitar is cool too, cigar box wow. must get me one of them.
