  • I am way behind and just found these videos but I love them!!! You make such great suggestions and I really like the comparisons of portion size to body parts (really easy to remember) :)

    One good suggestion when eating out is to ask your sever if you can get a half/lunch size portion so you won't be tempted by the excess.

  • eat sushi! it is healty and the portions are tinny!

  • im on an exchange in Germany and they eat bread at every meal...and lots of pasta. Plus my family dosent eat ANY salad!! I dont know what to do!?? I cant make my own food i have to eat whats given to me..any tipps??

  • Don't add too much salt to your meal. It retains water and doesn't help with weight loss :/

  • what kind of salad dressing do you recommend? i usually try to get balsamic or oil/vinegar. is there a better option?

  • @theskilletlovesme Red or balsamic vinegar is the healthiest! :) You don't gain any weight with it.

  • i hate fast food and any fried oily food makes me feel sick.

    salad is my best friend.. and favorite dressing is lime, olive oil, salt, black peper, sumac and sometime add some herbs :)

  • My tip for eating out would be to prepare yourself before you go out to eat. Look online for the nutritional facts. Know what foods are healthier choices at your favorite restaurants before you go.

    Anyway, my tip for eating out is to look for healthy choice options, most places have them. Also, a long with salad filling you up so you don't eat too much, taking sips of water between bites can help fill you up as well so you're not tempted to dig into the 2nd half of your meal you're not supposed to eat until later...

  • This was really good advice! (: Alot of it I don't often think about such as how much calories/starch all those free dinner rolls contain, much less the butter content I load onto it. I'm gonna save this into my favorite! Thanks agn :)

  • i have tryong to eat more fruit , veg and dairy products recently ( since i don't drink milk) so i found that if you take your faourite yogurt and and a portion of fruit to it , its yummy and very healthy !!

  • I think order half orders if you know the portion sizes are going to be big helps, always order water with lemon/lime so you don't crave anything sweet and skip the appetizers they are usually super greasy! also get rice or potatoes salads as sides instead of fries - I also love coleslaw but its not that great for you so choose something more healthy or skip it! for me I have told myself if you are full, then stop eating, don't just eat to finish - you are probably overeating!!

  • y is eating more than one thumb size of cheese bad?? i tend to put alot of cheddar cheese on my veggies......

  • @makupluve Cheese is very high in fat and calories so its best to use choices like sharp/old cheddar or feta which have stronger flavours and therefore you need less of them :)

  • @makupluve It's full of saturated fat. The yellower the cheese, the more fat. You should go for white cheeses like cottage, feta or ricotta!

  • I don't eat salad dressing really. I like fresh fruit and chicken on mine. It adds flavor without adding the calories. Though I can't skip on poppy seed dressing. That stuff is really good. Can you do a unhealthy food posing as healthy food video? (things like granola bars etc..)

  • I've been on a super health kick and lost 15 pounds since January. I'm going to Disney World tomorrow and I'm TERRIFIED of getting off track with park food. So, this video came just in time. I also gave up white flour for Lent! It's going to be really hard but I think I could use a little less bread in my life!

  • seriously best health tip i can give.. drink nothing but water...EVER. then you have more room to indulge occassionally on FOOD (which tastes better) without feeling as bad

  • instead of ordering fries, you can order a baked potatoe cause its better for u, an even better side choice would be salad of course :)

  • before i go out to a fast food place, i always check the website or find somewhere where i can look at the nutritional information of the menu items, just so i can make sure the thing that i'm ordering because i think its healthy, actually IS healthy. :) i mean, healthy for a fast food restaurant lol

  • always go high protein low simple carbs, order water with a lime or lemon, if ordering a burger go without the bun (it still tastes great), when ordering a salad add a protein like an bolied egg or grilled chicken to keep you more full and add flavor to the salad. : )

  • veggies are insanely good for you-- at restaurants try to match or exceed your eating of pasta with veggies or salad

    **note*** they arent good for you all slathered in butter

  • Another tip with salads is to make sure you don't get a salad that is loaded with other things besides vegetables. Some salads have meats or bacon or crispy chicken in them and you'd have been better off eating a burger. The nutrients from the vegetables are still good, but if you overload the salad with other things then it's almost not worth it. I had a chef salad the other day for lunch and it was 23 grams of fat....

  • As for tips: order healthier beverages such as water with lemon, iced tea, lemonade, coffee with low or skim milk, or a juice spritzer (half juice, half sparkling water :)

  • Have you ever heard of "Eat This, Not that"? It's a huge database of healthier substitutions in almost every restaurant and fast food establishment in existence. It shows the worst item you can get and then the healthiest one, gives you the stats of calories. Just google it and it should be the first site that comes up :)
