what happens if you cant find the model of the phone on the website?. I just recently got a new phone... its a Sidekick maker Sharp fx a samsung model stx-2 From at&t. i didnt mean to put a lock on it. but i did and i dont know the password.. so I dont know what to do since i cant find the right model of the phone on the website.

@code675 hi there when you turn off your phone, and input a non accepted simcard it will prompt you to enter an unlock code, after you input the unlock code then you can use another simcard

This service worked for me!

I have an AT&T Samsung SGH i897. its different from an i9000. btw. so choose SGH i897 not galaxy S on the menu or it will return with an error not found in database.

Once I chose the right model I got the unlock code. The video up here says DONT INSERT the SIM card but that didnt work for me.

I had to turn off the phone, then INSERT my Tmobile SIM card and then I enterred the unlock code.

@500348 what do you mean? under the drop down menu? look for i897 captivate, the SGH section is not there, so start under i897 rather than SGH i897, hope that helps

Nobody has been able to unlock the captivate (yet).  Most of these unlocking sites have shown the captivate as not available for the time being. Hopefully this will be broken soon.
