Only experience with the 40 series was my friend's '05 V6 Mustang. It was LOUD... pretty bad highway drone. With the 80 series there was only a small window of RPM that had a drone-sound and it was between 1600-1900 RPM. Normal highway cruising was obviously 2500+ RPM.

im looking to get an 04' FX35 w/ roughly 60k is it worth it? i know that infiniti is highly reliable, are there any recalls on these? im also looking at the RX330 too.

I've had mine for almost 4 years now and I still love it. There are very few recalls... fuel filler hose, headlight and taillight recalls because they don't meet brightness specs (but they're bright as hell), and the only noticeable one is the trim around the windows... it fades. If the trim was replaced, it will fade again. The only permanent solutions are painting or swapping out for the expensive chrome package in the later (I believe 06+) models.

yeah. i personally like the way it sounds. might be buying one as my daily driver by the end of the year... did they ever come out with a manual transmission version? manual is way better then auto IMO.

Manual never offered, otherwise I would have gotten it in manual. The manual mode on the 5AT is a little annoying stock, it has a "luxury delay" where it shifts half a second after you tap up.

Yeah man I know, it sounds awful, really ricey. It's partially skewed because it's a bad microphone, but low displacement V6's always have a knack for making a ricey sound no matter how the exhaust is done.

I don't reckon that's true mate...it depends on your exhaust set-up big time. I've got a vid with a VQ30DE (the 3.0-litre version of the FX35) and IMO it sounds mean. :)

ABSOLUTELY beautiful.. derailed fx's are perfect... only thing that turns me off about the car (having one) is the lack of power up top, and only two pedals.. im sure doing this to mine will help the first problem.. im really surprised the motor blew at only 6.5 psi.. guess nissan was not expecting force induction..

Easy, get 350Z resonated Test Pipes and a Camaro-style Flowmaster Muffler put on, that's it :)

nice 350z wagon...so, did you remove your cats or just the resonators??? Doesn't sound too bad, but seems a bit raspy, but that is a VQ35 trait.

Cats replaced with resonators, all other resonators (just 1 when it Y's together I believe) are still there. Alot of the raspiness is gone now that it has ~5k miles on it. And as an update, currently putting in a built longblock to handle ~9 lbs boost :) Will have videos when the monster's broken in, tuned, and stomping Z's and G's all over the place.
