  • It's so much better sound on the diamond discs than the 78's from the same time!

  • Paal, You think so? I find the tremendous variance in DD quality very annoying. Some DDs can sound fantastic. This is a very good one, but I have lots more that sound very poor. I like 'em, but I love my 78s ;-) Regards, J.

  • Thx for sharing this ZEZ COMFREY piece! I love KOTK, and Poor Buttermilk too. Wonderful sound the way you did it..top notch!! *****

  • Idasynco, Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it. Zez was an amazing fellow wasn't he. Regards, J.

  • Congratulations on your new C-19! What a great song. I think highly of the Edison house bands.

  • EdisonSquirrel, LMAO! Thank you my friend. It's coming along and will hopefully be featured here soon. YF, J.

  • Another great forgotten Edison band!

  • Kspm01, The BDO is always on my want list. Glad you enjoyed it. Regards, J.

  • I am 90% sure that the Broadway Dance Orch is The California Ramblers performing under another name. Edison Discs had a longer playing time than the lateral 78s but were only playable on Edison vertical machines.

  • Para..., I believe the California Ramblers recorded for Edison as The Golden Gate Orchestra. I'm not sure if anyone has definitive information on the personnel of the BDO.

    Regards, J.

  • The Broadway Dance Orchestra was really Vincent Lopez's orchestra on most records, but a few may have been made by another group.

  • Paal, Thanks for the info., I'll make a note of it. Thanks for watching!
