@mikevandervegt I'm a 4th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan going for my 5th , and 1st degree advanced in Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do . But don't compete in tournaments . Karate /Martial Arts is mostly for self defence .You get in seriouse trouble if you fight without self defence . I have three tomboys age5,7, and 9 they're purpil belts no tournament experiance .

That is very cool teaching theses skills is so great for young kids. Her striking seems good. I have four son and they all training and compete in Jiu Jitsu. A little advice teach her to keep her hips down when passing or on top position. When she shoots, have her change levels. Love the video. Does she training in a gym or just in the Garage?

@ratonL start with TKD to get them used to the gi (let them thier yellow belt). Then put them in Jui Jitsu. A bout a year later take them to LA Boxing and do the bag workouts with them. After a bit they will know the basics of boxing, jui jitsu and how to throw a kick (a crappy one). It's about a 2 year proccess but it slowly developes them into the world of MMA. Then upgrade to Amature Boxing, Mui Tai, Wrestling and No Gi Jits. You will have a monster.

You can still do it. One guy on the ultimate fighter show said he only got into it after a year and was still pretty damn good. Hell, Joe Lewis (kickboxer) was in the miliatry stationed in Japan and became black belt after only 7 months (Shinto Ryu karate I believe).

she is one very trained girl, but im 13 years old and ive done MMA for a year now and while your daughter is on the foucus pads she should not be using MMA gloves, she should use boxing gloves as her hands are still growing and the MMA gloves damage your hands somehow, well thats what my instructor told me, and maybe you could train her with her round kicks as she is kciking with the side of her foot. sorry to be negative lol but she is a very trained girl, she will grow to be a athlete.

Started with Teakwondo she took to it. Her brother has been doing this stuff with me for awhile and I've thought about bringing her into the mix. After she was in Teakwondo for about three months I took her to a Jui jitsu class with her brother. She was used to whering the uniform and had no problems joining the class. She did it for about 6 months and now we are testing her out in wrestling.. I don't know if wrestling is going to last she is the only girl in her class..

well , I just happen to be a person as well. I guess that means I also have the right to state my opinion. My opinion is there is no one person who is positioned to decide what all the girls in the world can or cannot do. My opinion is that her parents are best suited to judge if there daughter is up for the challenge.I thihnk that this little lady is doing great.
