I am a Christian but personally I adore the Pagan religion, it has history and beauty behind it. It's nothing of evil being in my time of having Pagan friends I don't recall hearing devil-worship. So please people, let's not fight over religions here. This hymn is beautiful just like the belief in which it comes from.
I do love this song, but I do have to state that all too often the God is left out the creation scenario, as if His part in the evolution is really insignificant next to the Goddess's role.
@OneWiccanHighPriest I think the main reason most people focus on the female aspect more than the male is because they long for something different from the huge male presence that is present in the Abramic religions. Also, if you think about it in animal terms, usually the male doesn't stick around to raise the young. They just plant the seed and let the female do the rest, so their part in creation isn't entirely insignificant, but not huge. Though I do agree with you.
Okay, here is my little bit. I have read a Christain vs Pagan Word War on EVERY video even related to Wicca on youtube. If you want to bash us, please go research our ways, customs, and reasoning. Guys, you're being thick headed to waste your time . Everyone has their beliefs, some will claim that they are absolutely right and its fine if you think someone else's beliefs are a load of crap. Don't follow it then and let them be (unless they're harmful). All the arguing in the world is not going to make everyone think you're right. Everyone is diverse and going to have different beliefs. You can spread the word but you can't force someone else to agree. Just have an open mind.

you know what get me going everytime is that according to the Bible jesus said spread the word, he never said force it down someone's throat. I think he would be horrified at the the way alot of christians act. Isn't the golden rule do onto others as you want done to you. @TheAgentdrknite007 i agree with KaitlynDarkholme, we shouldn't blame one religion for all that is wrong in the world. the bible doesn't teach hate (at least not by people who practice and understand their faith correctly) and the same goes for paganism. the only people i have ever met or heard of who preach hate are extremists and often very ignorant of the subject at hand, often even their own religion. we have to work together to learn about each other's faith, not spreading hate.

There always has to be polar opposites in all their is for ex. there is the goddess and the god, death and birth, construction and destruction, love and hate and so on. when male and female come together in union or sex, they become one. So to portray the goddess or god as the supreme reality you have to say that god is both male and female and more.
@atillawith This dual aspect of the Supreme Reality being both male and female is something that is taught in christianity, islam and judaism although it is a teaching that has been obscured over time. And by the way I believe its part of the goddess tradition to respect all beings because the goddess lives in all. @OneWiccanHighPriest I think the main reason most people focus on the female aspect more than the male is because they long for something different from the huge male presence that is present in the Abramic religions. Also, if you think about it in animal terms, usually the male doesn't stick around to raise the young. They just plant the seed and let the female do the rest, so their part in creation isn't entirely insignificant, but not huge. Though I do agree with you.

@TheAgentdrknite007 i agree with KaitlynDarkholme, we shouldn't blame one religion for all that is wrong in the world. the bible doesn't teach hate (at least not by people who practice and understand their faith correctly) and the same goes for paganism. the only people i have ever met or heard of who preach hate are extremists and often very ignorant of the subject at hand, often even their own religion. we have to work together to learn about each other's faith, not spreading hate.

There always has to be polar opposites in all their is for ex. there is the goddess and the god, death and birth, construction and destruction, love and hate and so on. when male and female come together in union or sex, they become one. So to portray the goddess or god as the supreme reality you have to say that god is both male and female and more.

@atillawith This dual aspect of the Supreme Reality being both male and female is something that is taught in christianity, islam and judaism although it is a teaching that has been obscured over time. And by the way I believe its part of the goddess tradition to respect all beings because the goddess lives in all.
