I'm still a cadet and I like this stuff... I liked getting chewed out by the Drill Instructor. Better yet the Drill Instructor we had, called me by my rank(c/MCPO) which surprised me, haha. But I don't know why I like drill, why I like getting quarter decked, getting to do obstacle courses, eating chow a certain way, even getting sweaty, dirty, and nasty; I don't know why I like that.
i went there and stayed there for a while with my njrotc class, we had to do all the training course and done some rifle training, we were treating like recruits while we stayed there. our DI wasnt as bad as i thought it was gunna be. but altogether it was a pretty good couple of days stayin there. there gas chamber is really strong to, CS gas is no joke

they are an Air Force JROTC unit from a Florida HS that visited Parris Island in '07....the video was shot right in front of the Parris Island museum. that is a real Marine Corps DI who was tasked to escort them around PI and show them training. this happens often for HS groups and real working DI's that are in between platoons get tasked with escorting them around and showing recruit training to them and their teachers.

Man I actually did spend some time in the military and it just confirmed all the beliefs I had and made my impression even worse. It's overwhelmingly a collection of poorly educated guys with an extremely romanticized idea of violence as something cool and wonderful. And the instruction is probably 20% tangible skills and 80% ego boosting by sad, sad men. It's not even difficult physically, just wears on you having to listen to such BS and propaganda day in and out.

I've switched over to more real and meaningful training programs to get a thrill. And also, with my man BO in office now SOCOM is next on the chopping block due to it's terrible inefficiency. man I did do 3 years in the corps, They wanted to bypass normal limits and promote me three times but some General had a grudge against me because I stole his wife. It isn't me calling 30% gay, it's statistical evidence based upon a number of studies, taking the average. give me a break man, if you actually look at it, the marine basic training is even less rigorous than something as pathetic as what a Canadian reservist goes through before they become a private. Real armies like the British and French military make it look like daycare, which it essentially is. It's short, primarily focused on discipline, and light on practical training. All in all, it really shows why success in Iraq/Afghanistan has been very low.

Man I actually did spend some time in the military and it just confirmed all the beliefs I had and made my impression even worse. It's overwhelmingly a collection of poorly educated guys with an extremely romanticized idea of violence as something cool and wonderful. And the instruction is probably 20% tangible skills and 80% ego boosting by sad, sad men. It's not even difficult physically, just wears on you having to listen to such BS and propaganda day in and out.

the truth is I spent 5 years in the military but just found it was way too weak and soft an existence in comparison to what I had envisioned. I would be extremely surprised if an entire USMC division could defeat a handful of bandits given the current state of poor morale. I've switched over to more real and meaningful training programs to get a thrill. And also, with my man BO in office now SOCOM is next on the chopping block due to it's terrible inefficiency. My condolences.

well basically we try to emulate special forces training but at a level which actually requires character and exertion. I do the cubible thing one a week to earn enough money for my villa in Switzerland, but most of the week I'm in the bush with a group of 40 to 50, depending on the week, who have tried the military and found it to be really, for lack of a better term, summer camp. A joke, basically.

man I did do 3 years in the corps, They wanted to bypass normal limits and promote me three times but some General had a grudge against me because I stole his wife. It isn't me calling 30% gay, it's statistical evidence based upon a number of studies, taking the average. Inside polling has shown numbers between 21 and 46% of marines being of the homosexual persuasion. I think it's great and fine that people do what feels right to them.

give me a break man, if you actually look at it, the marine basic training is even less rigorous than something as pathetic as what a Canadian reservist goes through before they become a private. Real armies like the British and French military make it look like daycare, which it essentially is. It's short, primarily focused on discipline, and light on practical training. All in all, it really shows why success in Iraq/Afghanistan has been very low.
