Man just saw this car today at the Indy Museum. It's amazing how wide these cars became in 80'.

That's right. It's a shame he lived his life so "fast"...and I don't mean the racing part.

@hoppy086 As far as pure, raw talent goes, Tim Richmond was incredible. It'd be interesting to see what would have become of him.

Ongais probably thought he was on the lead lap and was in the battle for third place. It was a reasonable assumption - scoring errors were common in the pre-computer era.
