  • ههههههههههههه شت أب

  • luved the speech ^_^

  • Honestly, the speech wasn't bad. What i hate is elizabeth. And it's because she really isn't a strong character at all. She's a complete mary sue. Anyone notcie how almost every male lead is in love or at least lust with her? Its riduculous!

  • after that long intense and somewhat corny speech...... barbossa shouldve taken out his pistol and shot her and said "screw that"...."now back to the real plan".

  • Pirates just isn't the same without Elizabeth and Will. They should bring them back and considering she's the pirate king and he's the flying dutchman's captain it shouldn't be THAT hard to do it.

  • @Neko0Christen they could, but keira knightly and orlando bloom didnt sign for more than 3movie :( only johnny and the others.

  • Comment removed

  • Brave, inspiring speech but imagine for a moment a similar modern-day setting, all known and unknown fugitives in the world uniting on board some nuclear-weapons filled warship - Al Qaida terrorists, global narco-mafia, serial killers, pedophiles and gang rapists, Wikileaks journalists.....all uniting against Governments of the world....and some cutthroat bandit gives a similar "Hoist the Criminals" speech.....point is that's the infamy for pirates of the 17th-18th centuries

  • I love Elizabeths character so much and although I adore keira knightley as well it HAS to be the character that draws you in..and I think she did a wonderfull job portraying the character of Elizabeth I couldn't imagine anyone better to play her for what she was and is; a governers daughter turned pirate king who's lost everything and is willing to fight for what she gained from it all. Freedom. :)

  • Before anyone gets offended im going to sate that i love pirates, but this scene was kind of corny. Elizabeths speech was kinda cheesy. Barbossa shouldve taken out his pistol and shot her then say "Now back to the plan"

  • Such a terrible movie how could they ruin pirates of the caribbean do badly.

1st one will always be the best :)

  • @SGTcrackey666

Rofl how can they ruin their own movie? Their own creation. if they want it to be like this, then so it be.

  • @TheSleeper33 simple by giving the new movies poor stores and having them act them very poorly. Im not suprised orlando bloom and Keira Knightley didnt want to stay any longer for the 4th.

  • best speech in th entire trilogy with one of the best soundtracks to go with it! :)

  • i love this speech...

    i love Elizabeth....

    beautifull XD

  • She's not good enough for Jack. End of discussion.

  • @Sociopathics I suppose you are?

  • @myk3333 Lol, no. Jack's very image would be skewed by the constant company of ANY female. I'm not some jealous fangirl. I would just like to see his character image preserved.

  • @Sociopathics

Sorry for butting in but i whole heartedly agree, Jack Sparrow is not a one woman man his only loves are the ocean and The Pearl..I don't believe he'll ever fully love someone and I believe that in regards to Angelica in the new movie...he was lying to make it easier for the both of them :)

  • @XHaemoXTwinsX yea i so agree with you, i do like jack with angelica (i think she's the prefect girl for jack well in my option)

  • The king and his men stole the queen from her bed and bound her in her Bones. The seas be ours and by the powers where we will we'll roam. Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die.
  • she looks stunning

  • Heh heh... I see Dark1thedemon took the direct approach answering that question up there. 'He died'. Something about that just seems comically short.

  • the stupidest thing is that they all prepare to fight, but only 2 ship start the fighting. So WTF the rest 1000 pirate ships were doing???

  • @Tarenaccount Well, there was a huge whirlpool!

  • @apostolicaspie so? when that has stopped anyone for fighting?

  • @Tarenaccount Well, it does help excuse the writers. Lols.

  • @Tarenaccount THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!!!!! and afterwards ALLL the pirates celebrate, when actually only 1 1/2 ships ACTUALLY FOUGHT idiots

  • I think this scene is pretty cool. I actually love the speech and Keira didn't overdo her acting, though I do think she needs a bit of polishing. Still, I love it :)

  • this is one of the worst "heroic" speeches I've ever seen in any movie.

  • I would so laugh if I had seen the flag of the Strawhat Pirates XD

  • If you notice the flag in the background at 2;18 is that of Blackbeard..

  • @craigisbond007 They're all real flags.

    2:40 Calico Jack

    2:34 Edward Low

2:25 A modified version of Thomas Tew to fit China

    2:20 Black Bart

  • @paranormal17 I know thats so cool they actually looked up real pirate flags.

I would NOT cross Elizabeth LOL I love that scene though the pirate king leading her men.

  • " HOIST THE COLOURS ! " what a team ...

  • This was kinda embarrassing to listen, don't know why really. Maybe because I can't stand Keira Knightley's acting.

  • @inamarel ikr? totally agree i was so glad when elizabeth & will didn't come back in POTC 4 they drive me nuts with their puny little dramas that drag & sacrifice EVERYONE important because of it

  • i really like the end when the jolly roger of the pearl is waving in the wind

  • @jimmervision

You do realize that she made the speach to rally her men, I mean they all had low morale because of the fact that they were going up against an entire fleet of well built ships AND the dutchmen (correct me if I'm wrong,it's been a while since I've seen movie) which was the best ship in the ENTIRE movie. It did not ruin the scene, it showed leadership and great motivation skills.

  • You will listen to me! LISTEN! The other ships will still be looking to us, to the Black Pearl, to lead, and what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No, no they will see free men and freedom! And what the enemy will see, they will see the flash of our cannons, and they will ... Mehr anzeigenhear the ringing of our swords, and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs and the courage in our hearts! Gentlemen, hoist the colors!

  • @playqurl2007 - actually its "the Brethren" instead of "the other ships" :)

  • excuse me cheeseheads?

we dutchman are the best i making iof ships!

    al man on dek

    is dutch

    alle mannen op dek

    means the same

so are you afraigt for a dutch girl

    i''ll kick ur ass

    moran

  • If you mean the recent avatar film besides the last air bender no thanks, I'll stick to this one...

  • Afraid from a "dutchman" ? Don't be a pussy and kick those cheeseheads overboard !

  • HOIST THE COLOURS! (and kick those fishmen asses!)

  • The author of this viseo should have titlled it "Elizabeth Swan Speech" or "Pirates Elizabeth Speech"....when one looks up Elizabeth speech....we are looking 4 Queen Elizabeth (1st or 2nd)..not a fictional character in a movie...A better description will give one more veiws... just a thought!!!

  • yes!

  • @ManWytch who the hell looks up queen elizabeths speech on youtube? she ruled in like the 1500s. now i might be wrong, but i dont think they had video cameras in the 1500s.

  • what shall we die for

  • This is my favorite inspirational speech in any movies that has ever been put out this was my all time favorite Elizabeth moment as well.

  • @xBrilwenx try listening to jake sully's speech from avatar. i'm torn between this on and that one.

  • "note there are subtitles, but that will soon be fixed) " i dont think he will ever fix em

  • 1:20-22 never made sense to me. Sounded a little bit too Braveheart for me. But the rest of the scene was probably the most moving part of the whole movie!

  • Thats because the Pirates are free man and woman. There don´t want to live by the rules of the European ;)

  • HOIST THE COLOURS!!!!!!!!!

  • HOIST THE COLORS!!!!

  • Will had this look on his face that said "... That's my woman. *sniff*"

    HOIST THE COLORS!

  • Pretty epic speech hahah

  • @jimmervision i don't hate you :) i'm glad i ain't the only one, i loved elizabeth's outfit and fighting skill but apart from that she annoyed me so much angelica was easier to deal with hahaha

  • What a strong character! Can you imagine how proud Jack would have been if he had seen her then?

  • @misty12141 I guess will still be having rum while she was giving the speech...

  • @misty12141 yeah, then you see barbossa saying what have we turned her into?

  • Go Elizabeth! Girl power!!!

  • its not the power of a woman its the power of a female pirate tougher than any pirtate

  • what is this song called?

  • "What Shall we die for" from the official Soundtrack

  • yeaaaaa gurlll hah THAT is the power of women

  • what language are the subtitles in?

  • japanese

  • I LUV Elizabeth!

  • i have a joke with my dad on this about hilary clinton. we both like her, but when we saw this clip, he was like "that's hilary"

can you imagine, "gentlemen, vote for me"

  • ARRRRRRR! Be it known today that Keira Knightley (and Elizabeth Swann)KICK ASS! Off to Davy Jones with you scurvy Liz-hater lot!

*does a little dance while waving cutlass around in the air*

(sigh) Somewhere today, Braveheart is proud.

    [FREEEEEEDOOOOOOM!]

  • i love this!! it's one of the best scenes in the movie and you could really tell lizzie is grown up and stronger and wayy more awesome lol

  • the song at the very start is called Hoist the Colours!!!!

  • Very Brave(me)heartyish.

  • Yo ho yo ho A pirates life for me.

  • whats the song at the begining of the movie i cant remember what it's called.

    BOO YEA BABE!

  • That there is the original pirates of the carribean song, as sung in the ride in disneyland (and world), which was the inspiration for the movies.

  • Ops my bad I thought you mean the start of this vid-

The start of the movie is the song "hoist the colors high".

  • yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me thats the name of the song

  • Thanks!

  • this speech is so good that she gave, i got goosebumbs!

  • tell me about it i got goose bumps to and now im cold im going to get a blanket!!!!

  • lol thats kinda ironic considering your name. Maybe try some hotchoc-lat to get warm.

  • yah hahaha lol

  • HOIST THE COLORS!! *raises jolly roger*

We shall fight and die for freedom

Drink up Me Heartys Yo Ho

  • This actually brought a tear to my eye.

  • what happened to her dad?

  • he died

  • @Dark1thedemon in 1547.

  • @Haydensmiles1015

Her dad died earlier in the 3rd(this) movie

  • @Haydensmiles1015 Lord what's his face in the EIC had him killed just before they reached the otherworld.

  • @Haydensmiles1015 They saw her dad in a dingy, when returning Jack from Davy Jones' Locker. When they were still in the land of the Dead. I loved the citation Barbossa said: It isn't gooing to the land of the dead that's the problem, IT'S GETTING BACK

  • @Haydensmiles1015 Lord Beckett murdered him.

  • i love will face during her speach it is like... "wow i didnt know she could say that" lol amazing job!

  • Yeah, Will never really understood her at all. Whereas Jack knew it all along.

  • her hairstylre changes right after she says "...then what shall we die for?", anybody else realize that?

    And I LOVE this speech!

  • Yeah, I did. LOL.

Like, part of it gets pulled back. I don't know how to describe it.

But I thought it was hilarious. :D

    Nice speech, though!

  • I love this scene!!! :D

  • That's the coolest part (or one of them, at least). Elizabeth is amazing.

  • The music boosts the strength of this scene.

  • I agree.

Hans Zimmer wrote a truly amazing score for the movie.

  • i dont like that moment..

it`s just banal.. :/ in almost every movie u have that kind of speeches.. it`s gettin... old :? ..

  • it's THEIVES and beggers

  • Yo ho, haul together.

    Hoist the colours high,

    Yo ho, Gits and Beggers.

    Never shall we die.

  • thieves and beggars

  • yeh i love when they hoist the colours lol

  • This whole film is brilliant- the soundtrack is so powerful. I used to really detest Elizabeth but this speech gives me the shivers. I love the pirates=freedom notion and she really delievered there and I can't fault her

  • Whoa, Elizabeth has really changed!

  • my favourite part of the whole movie was when they were raising the falgs

  • OMG I have chills! Everytime I watch this I get chills! She rocks!!

  • kinda gives pirates a noble spin, doesn't it? I think this is one of my favorite scenes. all the pirates getting ready for all out battle....getting riled up and loud and ready to kick some arse....

  • pirates arent noble ye landlubber, pirates do not fear death, and if it be what we hafta do to live freely, then so be it, aye *gives a blacktoothed grin*

  • I have to admit, this was a pretty inspirational scene in the movie. I was somewhat... moved by that speech, to be honest. Especially since it's coming from Elizabeth. (I wasn't exactly a major fan of hers in the second movie, be the third movie really changed the way I view her).

  • God, I love Elizabeth. This scene almost made me cry because it was so powerful, so inspirational. One of Lizzie's finest moments in the film, I think.

  • i love this scene

  • I love this scene. It almost made me cry, just the music. Awsome movie. I wanna see it again.
