  • Happy Birthday Carey Grant. you are one of my very favourite actorrs. My favourite picture was Arcenic and Lace.It was so funny.I love those tcm movies. I will be watching all day.Today is Janurary 18th 2012.I thought you were so handsome. Please don't tell that you were gay.

  • I still cannot believe that he never won an oscar!

  • this song is sad but beautiful

  • I love watching cary grant movies he really was a great actor....

  • The Philadelphia Story is his greatest role I think, I'd recommend that everyone watch it! Its got him, Jimmy Stewart and Katherine Hepburn- what more could you ask for?!

  • Wow I just noticed how much Milla Jovovich looks like Katherine Hepburn

  • Funny how an actor's last film sometimes betrays the true real-life self. In his last film, the only one where he doesn't get the girl, Cary mocks himself all the way through it. Though not one of his classics, we see the person most like the man. As I approach Cary's age at the time of Walk Don't Run, I understand exactly what he is revealing and now it is a favorite. Well done tribute!

  • My favorite actor of all time! I fell in love with him when I saw The Phildelphia Story and then I watched all his movies. He's such a great actor

  • Greatest leading man of all time!

  • Beautiful music!

  • Have you ever seen John Gidding, from curb appeal the block?

He looks like he could be his son.

  • @orrcabs Holy crap, he does!! I googled that name and his pics look like he could be his son!

  • @orrcabs i always thought george clooney looked a lot like cary grant

  • @orrcabs I don't know about a son but his daughter Jennifer Grant is very pretty.

  • So that's who the T800 learned that move from. When he face pushed that female security guard down across the floor. LMAO!!!!

  • Lovely tribute! I love you Cary! xxx

  • Cary Grant is It......

  • YOU ARE NOT A HUMAN BEING IF YOU DON'T LIKE CARY GRANT!!!!! Seriously, the guy is forever a legend, i LOVE his films, and his sense of timing is SPOT ON!!!!! Thank you for this lovely tribute :D

  • 0:59 - 1:09 The best ending to any film I have seen.

  • If another documentary should ever be made on Cary Grant, I think it should be entitled, "Cary Grant: The Quintessential Leading Man."

  • Marvelous! No one could touch him, though Patrick McGoohan came very close. Cary Grant retired too early and Patrick McGoohan restricted his potential by having too high a moral attitude towards roles like James Bond and Sundance.

  • Sorry...0:19-North by Northwest

  • Correct me if I am wrong!

    0:00, 0:26- The Bishop's Wife

    0:07, 0:36- Charade

    0:12- Holiday

    0:19, 1:48- Walk, Don't Run (??)

    0:33, 1:00, 1:42- An Affair to Remember

    0:46- A Philadelphia Story

    1:12, 1:24- Bringing Up Baby

    1:18- Houseboat

    1:36- Arsenic and Old Lace

  • keep pressing 6 it looks soo dirty xD

  • 0:56 WTF? haha xD

  • @bdufka I LOVE that scene!

  • Cary grant I love your movies they are great.

  • hey what movie is that at 0:09 - 0:11? thats great! :)) charade?

  • @BodaciousGiggles Yea that movie is Charade. Definitely one of my faves!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Love cary grant and his movies but he was born in England, Bristol iv been there and it's a dump.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I just watched Cary Grant do a cart-flip-wheel-spring.

  • The greatest star of them all.

  • How well Cary's wink & wave in the third clip are timed to the piano..I wonder if I'm not the only one might single that out...

  • @peter359 lol thanx. That was intentionally done. I was trying to find a clip like that for the end of the video so it would be like Cary Grant was saying goodbye to the audience. Thanx for noticing ;)

  • @amal19 Where is it from? I mean that last clip when he waves to the children?

  • Much obliged amal19 and no matter for improvements - this still stands as something well done and truly beautiful. You can always develop another vid that I reckon will have just as soft & elegant a soundtrack as the 'Cider House' title music which was an excellent choice. To heart and health, be well and carry on, thank you from someone deeply grateful to know I helped make your day as you've done mine as well ;-)

  • Cary Grant was much better than Ian Mckellen is

  • @92af Was also much older

  • Amazing how many times here at the office when it gets quiet I return to this vid and put the sound on Low, enough to hear on my own how beautiful the clips & music are together and how nice it was that this was uploaded by someone of a similar sentiment as all those posting admiring Comments. I wish I could just magically merge into the screen and find myself transported to the '30's, or the '40's...or '50's, when all this is were commonplace & the cinema reflected people's feelings as such.

  • @peter359 Aww thanks!!! I wish I had thought of making this video now though. Back then, I had super newbie vidding skills and I love this theme song. I should make a newer one. But you seriously just made my dad with that comment!!!! Thanx!!

  • Why would you make a video tribute to Cary Grant and not include him speaking?

  • @SuperScaramanga Because the software I had at the time wouldn't let me : /

  • they don't act like that anymore

  • Cary Grant was indeed a 'Gentleman Actor' apparently like by directors and co-stars alike. His appeal comes over very strongly in whatever he did. I have just watched ' The Bishop's Wife', (twice), and have been filled with tears over what some might call 'maudlin sentiment'.I do not care at all for their opinions. I do hope that Judith Crist might have had a word or two of praise for this man..if she didn't, then I will yell it from the rooftops ! Thank you Cary for what you have achieved...

  • there acertain videos on YouTube that to me are classics and this is one of them

Never get tired of watching them and i'ts always good to see them again after a long time *****

  • @notorious1946 That was so nice of you! Thank you so very much!

  • @amal19 you're very welcome

it's the truth ;) after all someone even tried to post it like they made it once, remember? I warned you

  • @notorious1946 I definitely remember that! I can't stand when people do that! And I really appreciate you telling me, I would've been pissed if that video had more views than mine! lol

  • @amal19 oh lol

hadn't thought about it from that angle ^_^

  • Charming and elegant Cary Grant!!! Wonderful tribute, nice selection.Thank you!!!

  • @FD2999 No, thank you for watching!

  • Legend.

  • Cary Grant was a ridiculous actor, he could not act at all.

  • @92af That's your opinion.

  • @92af You are some loser. My god cop yourself on. How many pages have you typed that sentence on? You complete retard.

  • @92af If by "could not act at all" you mean "was one of the most talented actors of all time," then yes.

  • I never knew who Caey Grant was until people started telling me I looked liked him so I started watching his movies and bios and stuff and I just fell in love with him he's an amazing actor/person I really admire him! Great style/demeanour

  • Alot of people say that I look just like a young Carey Grant (older people) .... huh maybe thats why I love him so much?!?!?

  • I just watched a movie with him called The Awful truth. Hilarious! Very good movie. A comedy. Definitely recommend. He was such a great actor. He really knew how to play the part.. Fine actor indeed.

  • i loved cary grant and Hitchcock movies

    but i hate homosex

  • @GODKHaaaaaaN "homosex" has nothing to do with this video...

  • Wow....Very beautfiul and excellent !! Could you please share the name of the music and song that you chose. Regards and many thanks, J

  • @jenflights It's the theme from The Cider House Rules by Rachel Portman. I'm very glad you like it!

  • the wedding ceremony on 1:22, which picture is it? Seen 20 movies with the guy but not that one

  • @AirikrStrife It's from a movie called Houseboat. It's really cute, you gota check it out!

  • @amal19 Thank you very much, seen the movie now. My first movie with Loren and she was just wonderful.

  • @AirikrStrife Yes, it's definitely one of my fave Grant movies for sure!

  • @amal19 It was a really cute and happy piece of work which were a pleasure to watch. But I think it lacks the, hmm, can't put the finger on what it lacks but it's not as good as bringing up baby, philadelphia story and only angels have wings and some other grant movies

  • who doesn't love Cary Grant?

  • I have only recently watched Operation Petticoat and Father Goose, and I must say, Cary Grant was a very talented actor. This is a beautiful tribute, well done!

  • absolutely fantastic video. and i love the music score in the background =)

  • Cary Grant beautiful voice!

  • just so touching. Well done, i love it

  • Heres what I want to know: Who cares if he's gay? Does that make him a bad actor? A bad person? He was immensely talented, charismatic, and timeless. Let's grow up and get over ourselves enough to respect an amazing man who spent nearly his entire life entertaining. If you are too small to appreciate a person for their talent, not their sexual orientation, I just feel sorry for your ignorant tiny brain.

  • I cannot tell you how much I enjoy this video-I adore Cary Grant and you capture the

finest facial expressions-I just love this and watch it alot!! I would like to copy/record this-

can you send it to me? thank you so much-Cathi

    clematis@comcast.net

  • Beautiful tribute to Cary! He is so talented and just timeless. Love him.

  • Who really cares if he was gay or not. I mean seriously Rock Hudson was gay and he was very handsome and not a bad actor.

  • @ZeusOwnsYou your wrong before he died he said l expect they will say l am a nazi and gay !!

  • Thank you for posting this video on Gary Grant. He was one of the greats!

  • Cary was a gentleman! He always used to say when leaving,"Good Thoughts". That is the way I shall always remember him. "GOOD THOUGHTS!"

  • @ZeusOwnsYou Hahahha you know what's funny? Your Youtube page is full of hate comments by others....looks like no one likes you which I find both HILARIOUS and sad...on your part. And you probably heard that rumor from some guy who whispered it in your ear....if you know what I mean.

  • @amal19 betty white said it on the news.

    it's offical.

Cary grant sucked cocks and took it up the ass.

  • this is when acting was acting.clean and brilliant. they don't make men like cary anymore.what a gentleman!!!!!!!!

  • What the heck is HQ? I think you mean HD. LOL!

  • Good job! I love Cary Grant and these are some of his greatest moments!

  • Christopher Lee is much better than Cary Grant was

  • @92af in what way?

  • great

  • wonderful wonderful wonderful

  • Cary Grant is the best.

Great video. What's the music in it?

    Thx for sharing this.

  • I love this clip too. The music, if you didn't catch the tag line at the start of the clip, is the main theme from the movie 'The Cider House Rules'. Beautiful isn't it. Sigh, I wish his likes were still around, what a class act. And wat a really lovely clip this all is.

  • He was always immaculately turned out. The essence of la bella figura.

  • Hes the dark shapes

  • Of my top 20 movies of all time, Cary Grant is in 3.

Gunga Din, Bringing up Baby and North by Northwest.

    great post

  • Very nice video - you did a great job! I like how you ended with his last film. It's the only film of his I haven't seen...

  • Super glad you liked it!! And you MUST see his last film!! It's so cute! In that one CG hooks up these two young ppl who like each other...it's a relief they didn't make him date some super young woman in his last film as they did with some of his others...that's why I liked it so much! It's like he was passing the torch.

  • I liked his movies and have seen Father Goose many times, his Hitchcock ones are great also.

  • Excellent tribute to a film legend.I love the use of the Cider House Rules theme music aswell .Well done,a great video tribute to Cary and his films.

  • I don't know but this video is about his work, not his sexual preference.

  • his daughter jennifer is beautiful

  • His Girl Friday, Father Goose, Notorious, The Philadelphia Story!!!!!! Charade, An Affair to Remember, North by Northwest are just a few great movies by the master!!

  • i love him and hepburn together. such wonderful chemistry.

  • Carry Grant has the greatest body of work in acting history!!!

  • he was going to be james bond but he refused saying that he was too old to play

so sean connery stole hes role

  • @FrameCatcher04

    Most diverse actors

  • that japn movie is called walk dont run

  • Great tribute video!

  • It's the theme music to the movie "The Cider House Rules"

  • This is just so, so, so wonderful, thank you for making my afternoon, honestly ;-)

  • nice

  • Fairfield Grammar School in Montpelier! My great-aunt was there at the same time as him. But I doubt that you were-you'd have to be over a hundred.

  • i whent to the same secondary school as him in bristol, he got expelled for sneaking into the girls toilets!

  • God bless Cary Grant.

  • Hi, I'm from México and I reameber this great actor when I was a child...

    Now I´m 57 years old.

Thank for this tribute to C.G.

  • Aw well thank you! I'm so glad you liked it!

  • 1:38 is from "Arsenic and Old Lace", which is highly recommended, and 1:50 is from "Walk, Don't Run", his last movie, and I believe the first movie in which he was Not the Romantic Lead.

  • How can you say he was a bad actor?

  • You're the such the bad commenter...

  • Thank you for this, I love Cary Grant, one of my fave actors ever!!!

  • I love Cary. Handsome, talented, suave, kind. He's my idol. He has great style.

  • You need to list the movies the scenes were taken from =]

  • Bishops's wife, Charade, Holiday (flip) North by Northwest, Bishops's wife (again) Touch of Mink, Charade (again), Philadelphi Story, An Affair to Remember, Bringing up Baby, Houseboat, Bringing up Baby (again) Awful Truth, An Affair to Remember (again) Walk Don't Run- think that's them all :)

  • Along with Massive Attack and Banksy, the best artistic thing to come out of Bristol!

  • LOVE IT!! And Mr. Grant, of course. What are the movies at 1:38 and 1:50?

  • that was great, what was the music?

  • It's the theme song to that movie The Cider House Rules

  • Awesome man!

  • You got all the right films and all the right moments. Bravo. Him doing a flip in Holiday -- only true Cary Grant fans understand how wonderful that is. Best regards.

  • You are right. Only we understand..:)

  • Love Cary Grant and I LOVE the Cider House Rules score by Rachel Portman- great combo!

  • Thanks! I'm really glad you like it!!

  • Just watched North by Northwest there, knew who grant was, but never realized how ridiculously charismatic an actor he was. His style, wit and presence are something ive yet to see dublicated by any subsequent actors. Its hard to believe that this seemingly golden upper class boy had such a tough upbringing. Moreover, that he was bisexual. he led such an unstable life, but yet seemed so sure of himself. Its kind of a testiment to one not being a product of events and associations but simply them

  • god i love him! he is sooo handsom! i love Arsnic and Old Lace!

  • very sweet and very chilling

  • My Science Teacher was named after him.

  • The first JAMES BOND

  • what song is this?

  • Please someone watch His Girl Friday and tell me what you think. I love that movie. The best, fastest dialogue there ever was. Please watch a clip and write what you think.

  • His Girl Friday is one of the best Cary Grant movies ever!!! The fast dialogue is something to envy! They do such a great job building the comedic and romantic tension between the two leads. I give props to both! lol

  • man i love this guy

  • Grazie tanto, quanti ricordi:o)))

    I amo Cary Grant

  • "Housebout" is the great movie! Cary fell in love with Sophia Loren and wanted even to marry her. But she choose Ponti. Sophia Loren told in her book "I know I could be very happy with Cary till the end of time. He loved me so much".

  • the lady at 1.21 is sophia loren,

  • His sense of style is Amazing !!

Who is the beautiful lady at 1:21 ?

And people who love his movies, could you please tell me what movies are his best to start watching.

    You will be appreciated.

  • hasan218: The lady at 1:21 is Sophia Loren (the movie called "Houseboat" I think)...There are so many great movies with Cary Grant, the best to start watching: Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story, Arsenic and Old Lace, Notorious, To Catch A Thief and North by Northwest.

  • I remembered her name later.

Thank you very much for the movies

  • thankyou...beautiful!!!!!

  • You're welcome b3witch3d. I'm veryyyyy glad you liked it!

  • I love this old wonderful black/white-movies. The 40s were the best decade of film-history. The best actors ever: Cary Grant, James Stewart, Katharine Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Movies: Casablanca, The Philadelphia Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Arsenic and Old Lace, Notorious, The Maltese Falcon, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, Bringing up Baby, Woman of the Year, Key Largo, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, All Through the Night, Angels with Dirty Faces, The Roaring Twenties

  • I absolutely agree with you ForeverSVW! I envy people who lived during those times. Sometimes I hate that I was born in the 80s! I missed everything! lol

  • Muchas gracias, esta muy lindo el video !!

  • They are having like, a Cary Grant Marathon type thingy once a week atm in Australia. I watched Bringing Up Baby. That was Hilarious! he is so awesome

  • Oh yes, Its on ABC2. I absolutley adore Cary Grant, he is my favourite actor, and when I found out about the Cary Grant Season I was very happy. This week It was Mr.Lucky, he is absolutley amazing.

  • I didn't get to watch all of that :( I really love all his earlier movies. He was such a hunk LOL

One of his movies I have is Father Goose. Have you seen that one? He is SO funny in it XD

  • I'm from Malaysia. Its very hard to get Cary Grant movies here though there is a surge in demand for dvd's.. I'd like to watch other Cary Grant movies. So far i've seen To Catch A Thief, Charade, An Affair To Remember And another Hitchcock movie strarring Cary Grant. And i'd also like to see Steve Macqueen in Thomas Crown Affair. Hopefully one day i could see them all before i die. Cross fingers ;p

  • Charade and An Affair to Remember are brilliant movies!! I havn't seen any of the others u mentioned though... except a couple of weeks ago I saw him in Suspicion, and I think that was the one directed by Alfred Hitchcock...

  • Yes, thats the one , Suspicion. And i have also seen Night and Day (Cary Grant and Alexis Smith), Angels Have Wings (Cary Grant and Jean Arthur), and another Hitchcock classic which i recommend From North To Northwest. Hmmm... For someone who comes from Malaysia i think i saw quite a number of his movies yeah. And i also recommend To Catch A Thief (Cary Grant and Grace Kelly). He is in his usual suave mode in it. Pure class. A classic. Check out your local dvd store ;p

  • Oh yes, I have seen To Catch A Theif! Bery good movie. but is saw it ages ago... I dont remember very much... I just remember that I thought it was good. I should totally watch it again...

  • Try to find Bringing Up Baby & The Philadelphia story. Hilarious with Katharine Hepburn.

  • 1:05 the most touching ending to any film ever! I love An Affair to Remember. It's probably my fav movie w/ Cary Grant in it. Not my fav performance of his, though. That was probably in Notorious or North by Northwest.

  • The best movie of Cary Grant is North by northwest

  • I love Carry Grant !!!!! XD

  • 0:11 that made me laugh! :D

  • i love cary grant! he was an amazing actor. wasn't able to keep a wife long, but he was a hunk. :)
